Previously trained with the NB 760's (2 pairs). I am 220LB and size 14 and wanted some that lasted longer than 300 miles. These are much better overall and have smooth "ride". They do not wear as quickly as 760's. Great shoe.

I bought these on the recommendation of the New Balance store in Costa Mesa CA, and they were great. I was trying to find something to replace my MR850s that are no longer manufactured. They came closest to the feel of the 850s. I didn't like the feel of the insert, so I took out the 1260's insert and replaced it with the insert of my 850s, and achieved perfection for my feet. I was planning on running a marathon in the 850s, but ended up using the 1260s since they proved to be most comfortable. The marathon went really well using the 1260s, and I had no foot problems whatsoever. Overall, I give them a 4 stars rating because the insert that comes with the 1260 is not nearly as comfortable as the one that came with the 850s. Other than that the 1260s are well ventilated and offer great support to the entire foot.

The fit is consistent with other NB running shoes I've worn for the past couple of years, the 850 series. Unlike the 850's, these do not feel as solid on my feet. The lacing does not feel snug. The stability is very good on the arch support. The cushioning is adequate in both the heel and the forefoot where my 850's felt pretty thin. There is room for my orthotics to fit without feeling cramped up in the toe box. Excellent ventilation.

These shoes provide an incredible support for the foot. As a physical therapast, I can honestly say that while they are rather expensive, they are worth it for a distance runner. Worth at least trying.
Brands I'd also recommend: Saucony, Brooks, Asics
