It has been difficult to find a child\'s sneaker that is wide. I appreciate Zappos for carrying unusual sizes. My son, who does not like the overly decorated or flashy styles of athletic shoes, found this to be refreshingly comfortable and straightforward in its design. Simplicity still has a following! Wore it all summer at camp and will probably order another pair.

This is the best pair of tennis shoes for my 9 year old son to wear to school! They are comfy to him, fit & wear well - the gray actually looks good past one week of wear. And as always, Zappos got them to us quickly.

I bought these sneakers for my son because he has a wide foot. He totally loves them. I have a wide foot as well, and tried many other brand name sneakers from other companies that I ended up returning, or giving away. I bought this particular brand for myself and I love them. They are super comfortable. I received them very fast, and I have made two other purchases since. Bought these in wide for my son and they fit great. He has a wide foot and high arch. Very comfortable! "Cool" enough for middle school too.

These are wonderful shoes. My son is tall and has wide feet. These are the only pair of shoes I could find that actually fit him comfortably. I love the colors because they go with everything and they don't show dirt and having an 11 year old boy that plays hard it's nice to see the shoes hold up so well. Very happy with this shoe!

Very comfortable for my eight year old son. He has wide feet, so this worked well. Good looking shoe. Would have given 5 stars, but it seems the shoes are starting to wear out some already after a few months.

My daughter hates shoes period! And her feet are always hurting her, but there is always an exception to the rule, and these are it. She has had a pair starting with size 3 then 3.5, and now 5. Her feet do not hurt after wearing these, They are lightweight, supportive, and her feet don't get all sweaty in them. Oh, and she has them in black, and pink too!

Excellent shoes for kids with a very high in-step and a wider foot. In fact, we have to order from Zappos because nobody in our city sells New Balance for kids in Wide. Weird, but true. They only last about 3 or 4 months, as far as actual wear and tear are concerned, but I assume this is standard for all kids shoes in this age group, 9-11 years old. If your child has that high in-step and the wide foot, believe me, you cannot got wrong with these 993's. These are the only New Balance that offer such height and width. We've tried all and every other New Balance with no such luck. For now, we're sticking to these and just hope they do not discontinue them. We'd love it if New Balance would offer other styles with the same height and width. Other than that, wonderful shoes.

These are a great pair of sneakers. My grandson fell in love with them as soon as he opened the box. They are, indeed, very attractive and the black/white contrast. More important, however, is the comfort they provide. The W provides excellent comfort so that my grandson is able to wear them for hours with absolutely no complaints.
