My son is 3yo and thinks these are "big boy" shoes (because they are not Keds). They are comfortable to him and true to size. I like them because they are not too "old" looking, but please him at the same time. The shoe stings are long enough to double tie and stay tied. Great overall shoe for young as well as older kids.

I think these are best for kids that aren't tough on their shoes. Within a few weeks, the lining comes out nearly every time my son takes them off. Shoe laces are bizarrely short, too, making a double-not near impossible.

My son has a wide foot. I always buy regular in New Balance and they fit him perfect. He is 4 and this is his 3rd pair of New Balance tennis shoes. They don't wear out and they don't show dirt. They are stylish and he thinks that he is cool because he has shoes just like Daddy! Highly recommend.

I got these for my 7 year old daughter and she absolutely loves them. These sneakers look even better in real life than on picture. My daughter said they feel so comfortable it's like wearing slippers. The color is a pleasant shade of grey, not boyish at all. They look and feel sturdy, and I hope they will last her a long time. We have the grey for our 6 year old and they are great. I have had a few pair of these as he has grown. Currently, he wears them to gym and cross country. The quality is very high and they always provide a good/reliable fit. I do not believe there is a better children's running shoe out there.

My granddaughter loves these shoes! They fit well, easy for her to put on, work with her school uniform. They get stinky but I think that has more to do with sweaty kid foot then the shoe itself. I just sprinkle a little powder in them before I put them back in her shoe storage. Going to order in another color now.

My son (5 year old) finds NB sneakers very comfortable. He has a wide foot and this style NB fit him well. Enough stability without being too bulky. I do have to say though that we bought this particular pair thinking he was ready to move from 13.5 to 1. He is not yet ready. But we expect this pair to be just as good as the 13.5s he has now. The NB size chart is not exactly accurate. No chart I have come across really has been. We have to try shoes on and see. Love Zappos by the way! It makes it so much easier to shop for a child who has little patience with trying on shoes and who has a wide foot. Stores in malls do not usually have a big selection of wide shoes.

These sneakers rock! They are sturdy, comfortable, lightweight and durable. These are the first pair of 993s with laces and our third pair of 993 in a row. Great sneakers for active boys.
