I bought these shoes for my 5 year old son. I got them about a half size larger so he would have room to grow. He plays hard in them but they have yet to show it. They are very versatile and give him great support.

I purchased these for my 8 year old son. He wears them every day to school and loves them. Busy moms, listen to me! Do what I do every Fall...buy several sizes/styles of shoes for your kids from Zappos. Use their immediate credit policy (you get credit as soon as you decide you don't want the shoes) and free returns! Beats dragging crabby kids around to the mall (which makes for a crabby mom!). Invariably, the mall stores never have the correct size anyway. Buy Zappos!

These are all around comfortable sneakers. My nine year old wears them to school, in gym, and runs cross country in them. They seem well constructed and run true to size.

Not much to choose from for Xtra Wide Youth shoes. These New Balance are nice and wide and come in a variety of colors. My son likes them.

I bought this pair for my 8 year old in 3W. Fit is perfect. Very comfortable for play. Have had it for a month now, no rips, loose threads etc. The blue color actually looks navy - in the pictures, it looks close to black. Overall, very satisfied. And loved the customer service. Got it in 2 days flat.

These are great for my 7 year old. The tongue was puffy at first and he complained it made tying the shoes difficult but he soon got over that. I thought the silver would be too flashy for him but he really likes them.

This is a great shoe. It's lightweight, but has a lot of cushioning in the sole. It's easy to lace and the tongue does not slip.
