My son has owned numerous pairs of New Balance and usually the Wides fit him perfectly but in this style his heel slips out of the shoe (they seem to be the correct size in all other areas or else I would try another size). Even after tightening the laces there was no way to secure the heel. So unfortunately these are going back. Otherwise these would have been great. They are very well-made and a great value for the price.

I bought these shoes for my 3 year old and he loves them, he wears them every day like it was his only pair. I will definitely buy another pair of New Balance shoes for him in the future.

I have finally found a good quality shoe that will stand up to daily wear by a 4-year-old. These are my favorite! I also love that the laces are stiff, so it is easier for him to work on tying his shoes. I highly recommend these shoes.

This purchase was made over the phone and was a replacement for an incorrect pair of the ordered shoes. (Wrong size.) This was my first contact with Zappos. (Earlier wrong order had been done through Amazon.com) I am pleased to write this since the return and exchange handled by the Zappos operator couldn't have been more cooperative and helpful.It was like talking to an acquaintance I had known for years....pleasant, friendly, understanding. My 5 year old grandson received the replacement shoes as promised in next day's mail, and couldn't be happier. Now that I know, I will be dealing with Zappos should other items be needed. In my experience, this is a 5 Star company.
Brands I'd also recommend: Not sure. New Balance was the requested brand.

Love these shoes. Bought for my 6 year old, they look really sharp. My guy is really hard on shoes, but so far they are holding up nicely. I have a hard time finding wide shoes for the little guy, so I was glad to find these worked out well!

Great shoe, only downside is that the laces are really long and almost drag on the ground even when you do a double knot.
