While the shoe was nice in terms of comfort and size, it developed the stench typical of Keen sandals. We tried a daily dose of Odor Eaters, washed them and tried our best to deal with them, but after 6 weeks of wear, we had to send them back to New Balance. We could smell our son 2 rooms away.

My 5 yr old son loves these shoes. We have no odor or any other issues. They are wearing out fast, but all his shoes do-probably more due to his activity level and rough outdoor play. We just ordered another pair in the next size up, he asked for every size until he is all grown up!

These shoes fit well and and are attractive and very comfortable but they retain an awful moldy foot smell I cannot get rid of after they get wet.

My son loves these shoes. He said they are very comfortable. Only issue is that they smell after a few times of wearing them, so they need to be washed.

Shoes fit great and look super too. My grandson loves them and can put them on easily. He's a little over 2. Only drawback is that they seem to retain foot odor even though they are like a sandal.
Brands I'd also recommend: See Kai Run

My son has wide high feet. The straps were sufficiently adjustable for the top of his feet, but they were not wide enough and the toe of the foot pressed down too hard. These were nowhere near as wide as Stride Rite's wide shoes, for example.

Perfect spring, summer shoe! My boys have rather wide feet so I was pleased these came in wide. Very flexible, comfy and water resistant. And thanks to the closed shoe style they can where them to PE. I wasn't very happy with the colors online (they looked loud) but in person they were okay.

I bought these shoes for my four year old not only to serve as a beach shoe but an all day shoe at school. My son has wide feet and New Balance has a great variety of wide shoes, but when I saw this all around shoe I had to have it. The fit was perfect and he says it really makes him run faster. I do all my shoe shopping through Zappos, not only for the best selections but also for next day service, free shipping and free returns. Zappos is the bomb! They can't be beat.
Brands I'd also recommend: Sperry, Keen and Stride Rite

My son has had 2 pair of these shoes 2 summers in a row and he loves them. He said they are incredibly comfortable and we can walk for miles and miles without him complaining that his feet hurt. One drawback for this sort of shoe is that on a boys foot then can get pretty rank smelling. Problem solved by throwing them in the washing machine on cold and air drying. I will certainly buy these shoes again! The pair from last summer still looks nearly new after a full summer and most of the Fall wearing them.
