The fit on this shoe is perfect (12W). It offers a tremendous amount of ankle support, and is a little higher than other high tops I've worn. Because of this extra height it can be a chore to put on and take off the shoes. You will have to unlace the top two eyelets, then considerably loosen the next two. The next two eyelets are kind of a chore to loosen because of their tight spacing and the type of eyelet. The styling is pretty good, but I don't really like the imprinted number 888 on the toe of the shoe near where the laces start. Fortunately it's imprinted and not visible unless you look closely.

I have recently rolled my ankle and need support for all sports, not just basketball. It is also hard to find wide sizes. I can wear these without a brace for tennis and working out. I do recommend replacing the insole (I prefer the memory foam inserts).

I have a grandson who is 14, 6'2" and wears a 15D shoe. Due to his participation in sports, he requires a high top. It is virtually impossible to find that combination, for any reasonable price. I discovered these at Zappo since I shop often, and gave them to him to try. He has fallen in love with the first pair which were black and twelve months later, asked me to purchase the same shoe, only in white. I also am a New Balance customer! Kids are hard on shoes, but his black first pair (same style) are still good to wear as well. Way to go Zappos! I love their VIP service and customer focused attitude!

I'm slightly disappointed with these shoes. They seem to be just a tad small for the indicated size, and not quite as comfortable as some of their other products I have. Pretty good, but not great. A good shoe if less expensive. Zappos service, as always, was excellent.

The shoes have a taller "Hi-Top" than I like. The tongue sticks out at the top a lot. They remind me of the 80's Reebok hi top. They are comfortable (once you get used to the HI top), fit true to size, and have a nice toe box that doesn't "squeeze" your toes.

This is my third pair of this model shoe. My first black pair lasted almost two years and I wore them as both my regular shoes and my running shoes...They are quite comfortable and obviously I am quite satisfied with them.

The New Balance BB888 high top is an excellent shoe. I have a high arch and wear a size 11-4E. The shoes are true to size and extremely comfortable right out of the box. I wouldn’t hesitate to order them again.

Very good shoe. Fits snug, but not tight. Comfortable on the feet. The shoe is wide enough for a double wide, which I am in most other shoes. Great ankle support. I haven’t rolled or sprained my ankle since I got them. Light enough to wear in any way, one would wear a low top sneaker.

I have been playing with these shoes for the last 3 weeks and have been VERY impressed. Outstanding ankle support, yet light weight and flexible. The fit was true to the sizing of other NB products I have worn in the past. Just a little bit hard to get on and off, needs a little loop at the back to pull. Can't beat the ankle support!

Great shoe -
I wear these shoes primarily to play indoor volleyball. I have flat feet and weak ankles. Over the years, I've managed to break my right ankle 3 times and my left 2. Needless to say, that's a bit of a concern with any shoe I purchase. Prior to finding these shoes, I have worn a variety of mids along with active ankle braces on both feet. With these, I no longer need them. I've landed on other people's feet in such a way that in the past I would have at the very least rolled my ankle. Even without the active ankle supports, I've had no injuries at all and feel 100% safe. Excellent comfort, even better support. Great shoe.

Good shoes for basketball -
I got these shoes for my son who is in college and is playing in a rec league. He is very happy with their fit and comfort, they are well padded and serving him well as a basketball shoe. Thank you Zappos for your quick service and being able to send the shoes to his dorm. Very comfortable sneaker. I have had problems with other sneakers where my feet would hurt half way through the day. I bought these right before a big trip. I was able to walk all day without any discomfort.

The shoes fit really nice. They are true high top basketball shoes. I have a really hard time finding hi-top shoes but Zappos always comes through.

My son has a wide front foot and a narrow heel. This sneaker is wide in the front but ties high on the ankle so it won’t slip and rub on his heel.

Finally, wide enough basketball shoes -
My son hasn't used these yet--they will be basketball only. But I was so happy--as was he--to find basketball shoes both long and wide enough for him after some years of not being able to find any. He says they are comfortable.

A True High Top with Great Support -
This is a great shoe for basketball players needing strong ankle support because it is a true HIGH TOP. This is our third pair and this shoe has prevented many ankle sprains for my son. The shoe is very durable and looks good too. My son has high arches and we supplement all of our basketball shoes with orthopedic inserts because most shoes today do not have high arch support.
