By far the best pair of New Balance I have ever owned. I have severely flat feet and have found that New Balance shoes are the only shoes that make my feet feel the best when I am on my feet all day at work. I have been buying New Balance shoes for the past 8 years and out of the 8 or 9 pairs I have bought, this is by far the best shoe I ever bought. These are very high quality shoes without paying the high quality price. I am surprised by the comfort and fit. They are also so lightweight you forget you are wearing them. I definitely will order from Zappos again in the future. This was my first purchase from them and I am very very pleased with the service. I paid on 11-14, it was a Saturday, and received them on Tuesday, 11-17. They were very well packaged and handled with care. I felt very confident in ordering from them online and was not disappointed in the least. Thank you very much Zappos for the excellent product at an excellent price as well as great customer service!

This is the first time I've bought New Balance athletic shoes, and I'm here to say that it won't be my last. They arrived this week, and I've worn them on several of my regular 3-mile walks. I've got narrow heels, and usually have trouble with "lift". Not in these, thanks to the three top lace holes, which allow lace adjustment to prevent it. Cushioning is fine, light weight is a relief, and I'm hoping the soles hold up to the chip-sealed asphalt rode I walk on (very rough). You may want to order a half size up if you wear a thick sock.

I got these in a size 10.5 regular width in black/blue. Since my size is not typical, it was very nice that these fit perfectly. The black is nice but some of the trim is shiny which you cannot see from the picture.

Very light weight and the width makes my feet happy. Order a 1/2 size up. Good cushioning for my 64-year-old feet makes jogging more pleasant.

The NB 749 give you stability, comfort, and durability, having owned several NB this as the others are outstanding. I especialy love the mesh upper because it conforms to your foot, and keeps the shoe cool. This will not be my last pair of NB.

\r\nI really want to love New Balance for their efforts at foot health and education, which is why it\'s hard to understand how their shoe widths are so inconsistent. I bought this in wide width and it barely feels like standard width. My trust in the brand is starting to falter.

I love the comfort and support this sneaker provides and the wide width leaves enough room for my bunions. However, when I do certain exercises, such as walking lunges, I feel that my foot is ready to pop out of the wide mouth of the sneaker.

I\'m not usually a fan of New Balance because they don\'t have enough cushion. However, these shoes have plenty of cushioning and are very comfortable. I do a lot of walking at work and have not been disappoited by these shoes. I may become a New Balance fan yet.

I run quite often, around 20-50 km a week. I like the red color and they are comfy. My last pair was the 1063, but these were cheaper. Make sure you check the soles. The red and maybe purple are trail running shoes and I confirmed this on the NB website. They are great for running in the grass or on a trail, but you can tell they lack traction on a sidewalk.

The shoes arrived right away. They are extremely comfortable. I have a lot of knee/joint issues and I find they are wonderful to walk in. I enjoy the purple, black and gray. The size was true to my size. Enjoy them.

Great shoes. I am a nurse and I work 12 hour shifts. These shoes are so comfortable. I can wear them the whole shift without my feet hurting. That is such a blessing. It is also nice to find black shoes. Since I work in the health care field white is not exactly the best color.

By far, the best pair of running shoes I have ever owned! I have been wearing NB for years and years. These ones are perfect and were instrumental in my ability to start running mileage that I have not been able to run in years. Love these! Perfect for an over-pronator like me. Have to get another pair!

I really like these shoes. They have a good amount of cushion and have held up well so far. They were a little narrow around the toes at first, but that seems to have gone away or I've gotten used to it. They're cute, though!

I love these shoes. I wanted a pair of black running shoes (black is not easy to find) so I wouldn't have to be worried about them getting dirty and I have found them. They were great right out of the box. I have wide feet and New Balance is one of the few with wide widths, which allows me to really get the size I need without going up a size to try to get some width. I haven't worn any of my other athletic shoes since I got these. They are so comfortable and cute. I also love Zappos for quick shipping, returns and exchanges. I won't shop with anyone else for shoes.

I've had "bad luck" with finding the right shoe until I came across Zappos. Very happy with my shoes. I'm glad that Zappos had patience with me with finding the right size and fit. I never gave up on them. With my experience in the shoe stores, the majority of them you couldn't find a clerk anywhere. But with Zappos I call and talk to someone, miles away, but to get any service in the Mall. Yeah! Right! I would recommend Zappos.

These shoes are great! They were so comfortable that I broke them immediately on a local hiking trail. I would not call the color a true red, it is more of a deep fuchsia, which the colored shoe laces really bring out.

These are the best, most comfortable sneakers for me so far. I have a bunion and most shoes are very uncomfortable for me, but these sneakers are great to walk and run, they are not going to be 100% comfortable on my feet because of my bunion, but very close. Very lightweight compared to Nike and other brands. I can wear them all day. I got them in the gray and red color and I love the way they look, not a big fan of white sneakers.

These are great shoes but I expect nothing less from NB. I wear them for working out, running, walking, even tennis. Not sure why it's so hard to find black shoes for women but these are decent looking and very comfortable. I would recommend getting black laces to put in them to cut down on the overall flashiness of the shoe.

Arch in a weird place -
I love my New Balances 1224s (size 8.5D; I'm now on my second pair) and bought these 749s because I wanted something that fit the same as the 1224s, offered decent support, but didn't cost as much. I wanted something that I didn't have to worry about getting dirty, so I could save my 1224s for the treadmill/gym. And I wanted something in black because very few women's running shoes are black. This shoe does not fit the way other New Balance shoes fit. The width of the toebox was a little narrower than the 1224. The length inside the shoe is a little longer, which is weird because the sole is shorter than the 1224, but it was still fairly comfortable (due to the lightweight, stretchy mesh uppers) in the toe box. I would have kept them, except the arch was positioned oddly... the posterior part of the arch extends too far into the heel region; the anterior part doesn't go far forward enough. It's like the whole arch is positioned about 1/2-3/4" too far back. This is really uncomfortable to have the arch so far backwards because it means the arch is sitting under part of your heel and it doesn't support the front of your arch. It's further compounded by the arch being made of the supportive, shock-absorbing material that has much less give in it. So you have a stiff, non-giving material under your the anterior, inside part of your heel. I think if you have a short heel (front to back, I mean), then this would be less of a problem. If you like the comfort of the 1224s, it's well worth the extra money to get those. The 749s do not fit the same way at all. It's like these two styles were designed for completely different feet!

I’m in the military and clock a lot of miles running. I bought these because I get mild shin splints if I wear anything other than New Balance. These have the right amount of stability to keep your ankles straight without being bulky and heavy. I started running in them the first day I had them with no problems or pain. Very good shoe for overpronators (foot rolls to inside). As always, very fast shipping, too.

 |  | I just wanted to say how much I love Zappos and your customer service. I recently had an order of 4 pairs of shoes. I knew if they didn't work out I could return them without any problems or questions. Luckily I liked all the shoes. But best of all you shipped them all in one large box which was really convenient because I didn't have to wait for 4 shipments.
