Really cute shoes, not overly "athletic" looking, work well with my biz-casual outfits. Lots of compliments. Removable insole can be removed to make way for an orthotic, but is just a bit too rigid to work over the top of the insert; would need another liner/insole in its place. Even without my usual orthotic, this shoe has just enough support to be comfy for an evening.

Very comfortable right out of the box. Looks good with pants or a skirt. The patent leather makes it look nicer, and somewhat less casual. Can be work with or without socks. I can wear it all day and still feel good on my feet.

It was love at first sight when I saw you, my black patent Plies. Your length and width were perfect. You had such style. How I longed to stroll with you along the Seine, through the Louvre, and to the very top of the Eiffel Tower. Yet, with each step we took together, you cut into the tops of my toes. I put hours of work into shaping you to my will, but you would not bend. You simply weren't pliable, unwilling to loosen up in the right places. The very sight of you pains me, and I regret putting so much time and energy into you. If my toes were not so long, perhaps we could have been a perfect match. We shall never know.

I love these shoes! I am partial to Merrells because of their comfort and the fact that they are well made. These shoes didn't disappoint! They are very comfortable, they run true to size, and look good with all of my black pants. I am tall (5-10) and I wear them as a work flat.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Italy. They are very comfy and true to size. I normally wear a wide width, but this width was fine. I would recommend these shoes highly.

These shoes are so comfortable. I take an 8 1/2 shoe and they are a perfect fit. Cute and fashionable. Also, a big thanks to Zappos for the great customer service and delivery.

These are well-cut and have many typical Merrell features that make them comfortable. They are not as sturdy as most Merrell styles, and I doubt that I\'ll want to wear them for a lot of walking. They are light-weight and flexible, look casual but I also wear them to work with slacks. True to size for me.

Very comfortable, casual, neutral shoe. Just right for an informal work setting. No breaking in. Minimal arch. Good choice for early fall & when you're overdue for a pedicure!

Cute shoe, but not for narrow feet. Very well made, great colors, good with jeans or skirts. I am keeping them and added an insert so it isn't so wide.

Fits true to size. Very comfortable shoes! I bought them for a trip to Italy and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They also look a lot more expensive than what I paid.

As always the Merrell's are a great shoe. They are softer than most that I have had before but are very comfortable. They fit as expected, nothing unusual there. I had purchased them for a trip to Edinburgh where I thought I would use them for sight seeing on foot. While I needed a shoe and not a sandal for the weather the Plie proved to be too soft. Normally that would be a plus so I used waking shoes on vacation and saved the Merrell's for the summer around town and home. One thing the straps caused no problems. In some shoes they can be too tight and cut but these were broken in from the start. Zappos is the best and I now know the word is a Spanish derivative for shoes.

They are Merrell, what else do you need to know? These are a great little slipper shoe. I got them in the berry color and I'm surprised how many things they go with. Arch isn't quite as good as most Merrell shoes, but it is a nice comfortable shoe anyway. I went with a size 7, but they were very loose, so I traded for a half size smaller, and they fit very well. I have fat little feet and they are not too tight. I classify them as "cute". That is what people are telling me when I get compliments on them.

Close but no cigar - I love the look of these shoes - they are really cute and unique. The "scuba" type fabric of the strap is extremely comfortable and overall the shoe feels quite breathable. Unfortunately, the cut is a little weird and causes some pain on the top of my foot. The cracks in my toes are exposed, if that makes any sense, and the leather rubs near that area on my big toe. I wore them around the house all day and the leather did not show any signs of warming up and stretching in that area. So disappointed because otherwise these were the perfect shoes.

I love this shoe. I have a slightly wide foot and I ordered a 7 medium, because it did not come in wide and it fits great. Very comfortable and people comment on how cute and unique they are. Mine are mahogany and the design shows up great.

I fell in love with these shoes in Mahogany in a catalog and was happy to find that Zappos even had a better price! I love the look of these shoes, particularly the print strap and sides in this color. They are adorable and I really wanted to like and keep them. However, they are not at all comfortable for me, and I'm not sure they can be broken in, so I will be returning them. I ordered an 8, the size I generally wear and that I wear in a Merrell Jungle Moc. The shoe seems a little shorter than I would expect, and significantly too narrow through the ball of the foot. I felt that my foot couldn't even relax all the way down into the shoe and the balls of my feet were cramped and uncomfortable feeling as I tried these on at home. I also felt that the shoe was too tight and rubbing on the area just above my big toes. If you like this shoe but find you have fit issues similar to mine, I would recommend the Keen Amsterdam, which I have and have loved for a couple of years, or the Born Carlisle, which I have in blue patent leather and find it goes with everything and looks sharp. Both of those shoes are comfortable enough for me to do serious walking in them. I wish the Merrell Plie had been a better fit for me!

Just okay - this is the first pair of Merrells I've had in a while. It's also the first pair I was disappointed with. I love the look, but there's just not a lot of support/padding in this shoe. I wore them for about a week straight, 3 or 4 hours a day, and they were still uncomfortable. The leather rubs the top of my toes and the backs of my heels on both feet, even with socks. I'm just not sure about keeping this shoe.

Very comfortable. I received these last night, put them on, and didn't take them off for four hours. I wore them to the mall with shorts and they are super cute, and I could walk forever - comfy! They have no arch support, but my Scholl's arches fit into them fine.

This is a cute, comfortable, sporty shoe that can be worn with almost any pant. It fits true to size (or at least like all other Merrell products) and is so comfortable I don't want to take them off! I bought the first pair in a dept. store, and ordered a second pair so that I would have a back up for the first pair, should I wear them out! The leather is really nice and the shoe is wearing well. I love these shoes!!

Great walking shoe!
For the last 2 months, I've been searching for a comfortable walking shoe that I could wear without socks for a trip to Europe in July. I've finally found them! These shoes were comfortable from the moment I put them on, no rubbing or blisters. I have narrow feet and the neoprene strap is snug enough to keep my foot in place but flexible so it doesn't dig into the top of my foot. And for a walking shoe, these are super cute! I'm sure these will be the only shoes I wear while I'm in Europe!

I recently had major foot surgery - bunion and hammertoes. I’ve always had to wear an orthopedic style to accommodate these problems. Since surgery, I was looking forward to a more feminine shoe. My foot is still slightly swollen and I’m still undergoing physical therapy, so I haven’t worn this shoe outside yet. Because I’m used to a more sturdy shoe, I had to get used to the "slipper" style. It is a cute shoe and the strap across the top gives some support. I’m waiting to see how this shoe works in a few more weeks and hope I don’t have to return it. It would be great to have a feminine style to wear with skirts and dresses. I usually wore a size 10, but a 9.5 fits well now. My surgeon recommended Merrells.

I ended up walking over three miles the first time I put them on. They were still comfortable! I was looking for a cute shoe I could walk to work in that wouldn't kill my feet, and these did the trick (and to work and back is about 6 miles). I would recommend putting a thin fabric liner on top of the insole if you plan to wear them without socks since I noticed the bottom would sometimes rub on long walks.

I have just returned from 2 weeks in Paris. There, I walked on cobblestones and pavement all day, everyday. I had an apartment that was 53 stairs up, and I made that climb sometimes 5X in a day! I’m not a particularly active person, but when one is in Paris, one gets up and goes out... there is so much to see and do. And by the way, I’m 55 years old. By the end of each afternoon, I would change my clothes for dinner, but not my shoes! My Merrell Plies, in black, were on my feet whenever I was awake. They are totally comfortable all the time. And smart enough to get one through the evening. I love them!

This is the first Merrell I've been disappointed in. As another person commented, the left shoe immediately started to rub painfully at the top of my toe. Not sure if this is because my orthotics bring my foot up that much higher or not, but regardless I had to return it.

When I come to the States, I always shop at Zappos because, with my limited time, I know they will get the product to me in a timely manner and their return policy is incredible. The absolute best customer service anywhere. As for the Merrell Plie, I think it runs a little wide but with a nice sock, it should be okay. It isn't as sturdy as my other Merrell so I will use it only on short walks or going out in the evening.
