I bought this tea pot on sale and right away noticed its tragic flaw; when it gets hot, the gasket melts all over the place. I returned it to Kitchen Aid and they said, "It must have been a damaged pot; we'll send you another one." So they sent me another one, which did exactly the same thing. Now I have two piece of garbage teapots, which bleed melted rubber all over my potholders when I try to raise the pout spout cover. Another negative point is that the handle gets too hot to handle without a pot holder or towel wrapped around it. So in a word, this item is a piece of junk and not worth any amount of money, unless you want to burn your hands, ruin your towels and your potholders, and additionally have melted rubber all over everything. Do not waste your time and money.

Perfect little tea kettle, I ordered this kettle in apple green. It looks beautiful. It boils very quickly and whistles nicely to alert you that it's ready. I love that the little spout part you can open and it stays open by itself, so you don't burn your hand from the steam or anything. The last kettle I had you had to hold it open yourself. I have no complaints about it, it boils my water like it is suppose to and it looks beautiful sitting on my stove.

I bought this kettle because of its looks, but it's a disaster. The boiling water shoots out and splatters all over and out of the spout when you pour it; the handle gets boiling hot (you have to use a pot-holder or towel when pouring), and that rubber piece that slides down the handle in order to open the spout MELTS from the heat of the kettle. I returned it the first time to KitchenAid, and they said that I must have gotten a "defective" one, so they sent me another. The SAME FLAWS EXISTED IN THE "REPLACEMENT" THEY SENT.

 | | Wow. I placed an order online in Seattle yesterday at 2pm and this morning before I finished my first cup of coffee a UPS guy was standing in front of me with my shoes. I was going to ask if he had a shoehorn and could put my shoes on, because it was almost like being in a shoe store it was so fast. And best of all, it was free shipping. I feel like leaving you guys a tip or something. But Ill tell you what, 3 other people in my office saw what went down and they were all on Zappos today shopping and I know they told a few friends. So there you go, thanks so much, stay in business, keep doing what youre doing, its the most amazing hard goods e-commerce experience out there. | | ~ Tyler S., October 17 2009
