Purchased 11 1/2D. Perfect fit, very comfortable, only complaint is waxy shoestrings don't stay tied. And excellent Zappos service!

Deeply regret buying these -
I realize I'm going to be in the minority here, and I know Merrell usually makes a good product, but I can't believe how bad these shoes are. First off, they were expensive compared to other similar things I was looking at, but I liked the look and they were made by a reputable company, so I decided to give it a shot. Well, I wish I hadn't. They don't fit very well (hurt my feet on occasion), they've never been particularly comfortable, even after being broken in, and they are not even the SLIGHTEST bit waterproof despite multiple waterproofing applications (this is the part that really blows my mind - a non-waterproof shoe from a hiking boot company? Really? I walked through a VERY light rain this morning on my way to work, avoiding all puddles, and yet my feet are still soaked at 11:30 (Again). To be fair, on the plus side they are attractive and they have worn very well, but I can't say too much else in their favor.

These things feel great to wear, and standing/walking around in them is very comfortable. They look reasonably good for casual shoes and they definitely make "happy feet".

I bought these for my 14 yr old for a school uniform shoe. They were not too bulky and he thought they were comfortable enough.

Psychic not as comfortable -
The shoes were not as comfortable as the World Piece shoes that I wore for 3 good years until the soles started giving away. A half size appeared to be a full size larger. The width definitely felt narrower. Are all new Merrell shoes not comfortable any more?

Instantly comfortable, they showed some signs of needing to be broken in after the first day. There was some slight chafing at the rear of the shoe, but this wore off. They do make your feet look bigger, because of the wide front. Seem to be very well constructed.

They took about 3 weeks to really break in, especially in the Achilles area. This was my first go around with Merrell shoes and I had read so much good about them maybe my expectations were really, really high. Don't get me wrong, they're nice, but not as comfortable as I expected. They look good though.

I purchased the shoes primarily for comfort and am very satisfied with the quality and comfort of the shoes. This is the first pair of Merrell shoes that I have owned and would not hesitate to purchase another pair. The service and price were excellent. The shoes arrived two days after I placed the order. This is the second pair of shoes I have purchased from Zappos and I highly recommend this company.

I had been searching for a black shoe that was both reasonable to wear with my job's casual, but professional, environment as well as comfortable. These shoes fit those criteria.

Is velcro becoming inevitable -
Shoes in general are terrific. Good looking. Good fit. Immediately comfortable. Shoe laces are problematical. They need help. Won't stay tied. I am seeing this problem in many brands. What's so hard about good shoelaces? Its just fancy string. Its not rocket science.
