I ordered the boots for a week long horseback riding trip in WY. They were a great value and extremely comfortable. The boots fit to size with socks for riding. The back panel is not leather, which wasn't a real problem, but it does look shinier than the rest of the boot. If you wear them under your jeans, no one will know!

Not quite what I was expecting...
Had to send these back. From what I could make out from the online view, the boot appeared to be made of a soft, understated "matte" leather. When I got them out of the box, however, they were "shiny." Strike one. When I went to try them on, they were uncomfortably stiff (which, I suppose if you intend to use them as a riding boot, is a good thing. Alas, I am more interested in aesthetics as opposed to function). Strike two. Strike three was the gaping space between shoe and calf (not terribly surprising, given my scrawny chicken legs). They were OK, but in the end, I couldn't justify spending the money on a pair of boots I didn't absolutely love.

Pretty Cool - Got these quickly. A little stiff but will relax eventually. Very cute boot for comfort if you do not want to wear heels.

What a riding boot!
No break in time, these are great! Got and then left for horseback riding camp. No blisters and did want to take them off.

 |  | You need a portal just for testimonials! I am an enthusiastic fan of Zappos! I live overseas but I have a home in USA. I shop the latest styles and fashions on Zappos.com in Denmark, ship them to my USA address and pay with my Danish bank card...no hassle. Your “competition” will not allow me to do that and they place the burden of identity verification on me. When I try to place an order from Denmark to ship to my house in USA they cancel my order. When I call in to determine why they do not use a more sophisticated method of credit card verification like “Verify by Visa” they tell me they cannot reinstate the order. I spend about 3K per month in shoes alone and I am more than happy buying them all from Zappos now. I shop Zappos exclusively now for the great customer service, ease of use, selection and confidence in knowing that the purchases I make will be honored in a way that provides service to the customer. I started with buying shoes, I am now looking at all the other wonderful things Zappos offers as a result of the service and value provided through this company!
