I purchased the Earth Proper shoe. The shoe was tight in the front and my heel was slipping out of the shoe. Sent them back. Also my orthopedic doctor said that they were bad for the arthritis I have in my knees.

I have problems with finding a comfortable women's dress shoe, until I bought this pair of Black Earth Proper. I loved them so much that I purchased another pair in Gold. I have wide feet and these are stylish and comfortable. Top notch!

Nice looking shoe from Earth shoes. I was looking for a black shoe to wear with pants and found it with Earth Proper. Very comfortable right out of the box. Size is right, good arch support, really doesn't hurt my heel like some other reviews say. You will need to wear footies with them to be totally comfortable, though. Too dressy to wear with jeans.

Not as comfy as other Earth shoes.
I thought that this would be the perfect Earth shoe for work, but the leather is very stiff and the shoe is not very bunion-friendly. I keep using my shoe stretcher and wearing it for a bit at a time in the hope that the leather will soften up enough to make it through the day. I like the way it looks on my feet.

Like walking on a cloud -
These shoes are the greatest!! You can wear them with a pair of jeans or a dress and you won't worry about either being dressed down or up. They are the most comfortable dress shoes I've worn in ages. The topper is that they look nice and feel nice.

I like these shoes, but I'm not such a fan of the "negative heel." I found that they did cut into the back of my heel. However, I bought cheap heel inserts and that solved the problem. I’m keeping these shoes. They're cute and mostly very comfortable. The platinum is very versatile. Like every shoe, you do have to wear them in a bit.

I LOVE shoes and own pairs of Dansko, Camper, J-41, Crocs, and Keen. After debating for several months, I finally bought the Earth in black leather last week (my first Earth pair). I only regret not buying them sooner because I LOVE THEM. So much so that I've worn them all week. I look forward to more Earth shoes in the future. I usually wear 8.5 - 9. My feet are really wide (about 4 inches). For Proper, I ordered an 8.5 and they fit PERFECTLY. They actually make my feet look kinda pretty.

Very comfortable. Never had Earth Shoe before. Like the style and slip on ability. They seemed a little bit bigger than size but gave me room for my foamy footpad that I put in all shoes.

I love the feel of Earth shoes. I had not had a pair since college and out of the blue they came to mind. I was very happy to find a place to purchase them online. They are comfortable to walk in and while they feel a little different due to the design it is very subtle. They really do make a difference in your posture but I haven't verified the burn more calories claim. They are expensive but I feel worth it because they are well made. With proper care they will last years.

Thick socks or for wide feet -
I love the shoes. They look great with pants as well as skirts. Casual or formal, the shoe transits well. I normally wear 7.5 B and the shoe is much wider than a B width. With socks on, I still have a lot of room. It’s really WIDE!

Super cute AND comfy!!!
I've always had problems wearing the flat, cute shoes that are popular today because I would come back with sore ankles, feet, and especially a sore back. My mother told me to try the shoes, so I did. They are expensive, but completely worth it if you experience back or knee pain!!! I stand at work for 6 to 8 hours and my back did not hurt at all! These shoes are amazing! AND CUTE!!!!

Gorgeous in Bordeaux -
These are beautiful shoes. I'm not sure if they feel a full size larger than marked, or if they feel a half size larger than marked and the heel is just too big for me. I do have a narrow heel, and it just flops off my heel. I'll have to return or exchange it. They feel like they would be very comfortable. I love my other Earth shoes.
The arch support does not feel extreme but is spread out over more of the whole foot so it is more supportive than other shoes that feel like they have more arch support.

I spend a lot of time on my feet while working and need to wear flats as a matter of practicality. I bought a red pair of these shoes and love them. I plan to get the same pair in black and to take a serious look at other styles of Earth shoes as a result of my experience with these shoes and your company's prompt and efficient service.

I have a foot problem--Morton's Neuroma-- and the Earth shoes take the pressure off of the ball of my foot, relieving most of the pain I experience in regular shoes. The negative heel design helps with that, I believe. These shoes are cute in a funky way and I have gotten compliments on them. They are a little dressier than the other Earth shoes I own--they are not high fashion but they are dressy enough and comfortable which makes them a 5 star shoe in my book.

This is my second pair of Earth shoes and I love them both! I stand for work and when I wear my Earth shoes, my back doesn't ache at the end of the day. The Proper seemed to run a bit smaller than my other pair, I had to send the 9.5 back and order a 10...

Casual and Dressy -
When I first tried this shoe on, I was concerned that the heel seemed to slip out when I walked. However, after wearing, it is a great fit and really comfortable. The arch is "different" but still seems to be good. No breaking in needed. Looks great for casual and for dress. So comfortable, I bought two other EARTH brand shoes and they are also great. Seems to be good for a wider foot though. Might not work if you have a really narrow foot.

The Best!
The Earth Proper were my first pair of Earth shoes and they are just perfect. I've always had trouble feet, but not in these. The negative heel works great; I can stand and walk for days in pure comfort. I've also lost 10 pounds in 2 months doing nothing else but wearing these everyday to work. I get lots of compliments on them too. I'll be ordering a pair in another color soon.

Very comfortable! Wide footbed and great arch support with the negative heel. At first it feels weird, but you get used to it when your feet aren't killing you at the end of the day. I worked at a wedding, standing from 9am-6pm, and the only complaint is a blister on the back (leather isn't supple like a Taryn Rose shoe) and some blisters on the smallest toes. I have horrible feet (no arches, bunions, hammer toes) so it could just be me. Just needed breaking in because I’ve worn them since and it’s good.

I have been looking for the perfect boot for years now and I have found it! These boots are perfect, so comfortable. No break in time. I can’t emphasize enough how comfortable they are. I could walk all day in them and sleep in them. Worth the $.

I now have two pairs of the Earth Proper and find they are a good fit and true to size. They are a very pretty shoe and work well with casual and dress. I had no adjust time to the negative heel because I also wear MBTs.

Finally, a dressy Earth Shoe!
I have at least 10 pairs of Earth shoes...all types from sandals to athletic shoes. In fact, they are the only shoe that I wear now. My biggest problem was that I did not have anything dressy from the Earth line. These are great! I bought them in the black crinkled patent and they are super feminine, comfy, and sweet with dresses. Perfect for work.

Because the shoe style wraps around the foot the design is horrible in the back heel area and constantly digs into your heel creating blisters, then cuts, then open sores. Horrible!!!

Love it! Bought the black crinkled patent leather and will likely buy new colors when they are available. I wear mainly Earth shoes due to a back problem and I am so happy they are starting to offer more styles that are appropriate for business/dress settings!

Cute shoes with great support for your feet!
This is my first pair of Earth shoes. These shoes provide excellent support for your feet and legs. I have gotten many compliments on how cute they are, too! The way your heel sits lower than the rest of your foot makes them very comfortable to wear all day long.

This is a darling little shoe. Especially in the black, patent, which I ordered, it's really kind of dressy if you need it to be. It could also be casual--you know the cliché: you can dress it up or dress it down. Unfortunately for me, it seemed to run rather large, and I had to send it back. I just tried to re-order, and my size isn't available. I guess I'll just have to wait and keep trying...DANG!

 |  | I just wanted to write in because I have placed many orders in the last couple of months and returned several of the pairs. I am leaving for a trip to Paris in a couple of weeks and I've been searching for the right pair. I've not had much luck, but I wanted to let you guys know that it isn't because I've been unhappy with my shopping experience with Zappos. Quite the opposite actually. Because your customer service and purchasing/returning policy is so great - I just keep coming back.
