Contrary to reviews, this shoe seems true to size -
After reading reviews that said this shoe ran big, I ordered a 6, even though I'm normally a 6 1/2. The 6 was much too small, so I'm sending it back.

This is my second pair of North Face shoes – the other is for winter. This pair is amazingly comfortable. Very lightweight, great support and comfortable! North Face has it figured out. They give you a feminine boot with a feminine fit, not a man's boot in a woman's size. I'd highly recommend these to anyone interested in a waterproof hiking boot with Vibram outsole for great traction.

Too big for me - I will be returning these, as they are too big even with a thick pair of socks. They aren't all that appealing when looking at them, either. I ordered and received a pair of Vasque Velocity sneakers in the same size along with these, and am very happy with them – both fit and appearance.

The North Face Vindicator Mid GTX -
Nice looking light hiking boot, not as cushioned on the inner sole as I would like compared to Merrell brand boots, so I added a gel insole. They look more like sneakers than hiking boots which I prefer.

Rugged enough to tackle Hawaiian lava -
I bought these specifically for my trip to the observatories on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. They were perfect for hiking both lava and the rain forests. They were light weight, comfortable, waterproof, and good looking. What more can you ask from a lightweight hiking boot? The support is phenomenal. No tired feet at the end of the day!

Most comfortable of four different boots I tried. Slightly bigger as well in size 7 - feels like a 7.5. Haven't taken them for a long hike yet.

I did find the same shoe through the NB website and after shipping and tax the cost was $4 cheaper but I was moved by the response and because I am sensitive to quality customer service I thought a relationship with you would be positive.
