Tighter Than the Average Shoe -
I've ordered several pairs of shoes from Zappos with success, so I was really surprised when these arrived and I put them on. Since they are elastic cross strap shoes, I expected them to have an immediate give to them. Instead, like others here, they felt too snug across the instep. On many other cross strap shoes, there is a velcro "latch" or "belt" that one can adjust but not so with the Andreas. In all honesty, I do suspect that after a modest break-in period, they would feel fine-- but I didn't want to run the risk. So they are being returned, and I will try to find a comparable model or shoe as a replacement, one that is adjustable.

Not right for my foot...
Am on my feet all day, and hate how long it takes me to tie shoes. Hence: slip-on sporty dress shoes. I really like the look of these, but the fit just wasn't right. My feet feel at home in size 10.5 Sketchers (and 10.5 other brands), and this 10.5 felt very restricting. I have wider feet that generally just feel snug in my size, but my toes actually felt like they were being compressed laterally. Not much vertical wiggle room either. Not sure what the deal is with the insole/gel pad... it all felt very firm to me, I had expected the shoe to feel a bit bouncier. The next ones I'm trying in a similar vein are the Josef Seibel Terence and the Unlisted Piazza.

 | | I live in Houston, TX. We recently had a hurricane come through and, between having no power, no phone, no cellular service, no gas and no refrigerated food, life was getting a little dreary. I decided to get another pair on Dansko clogs as a little retail therapy, once you sent me the reminder that my first pair was a year old. And just like always, the order arrived right away. It's good to know there are a few things in life I can count on! | | ~ Cynthia S., September 21 2008
