Light and comfy - These are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I've worn. Best to buy a full size up and wear them with a pair of quality walking socks. These are light shoes though, so they don't have the gore-tex. You can't wear them if it's damp out.

The shoe rules, it's my 3rd pair. Very durable, comfortable and great for hiking/backpacking, even with a fair amount of weight on your back.

Best pair of all terrain -
I love my Salomon's XA Pro 3D Ultra, my trail runs have improved, I gotta say traction is superb. Yeah I was dumb enough to wear low cut socks and got a couple of blisters but I got a pair of Adidas Clima Cool socks and bam, can’t stop me now. Oh I forgot to mention that I don’t have to worry about shoe laces coming untied at all. I highly recommend!!!

Still Great -
This is my third pair of XA Pro 3D's. The new Ultra took a little longer to break in, but the design is almost identical to the previous models, with more reinforcement of the lacing system, a modified lace pocket, and a little less heel cup. Very supportive shoe with great traction. I use these daily, and use them for backpacking and hiking. They breathe well and dry quickly, and the unique lacing system has held up very well, and is easy to use and adjust.

XA Pro 3D Ultra Wins My Loyalty -
I took a chance and ordered these shoes without comparing them with other models simply because they seemed to be one of Zappos' best sellers. They were also not cheap. I figured there must be a reason for the higher price. After replacing the flimsy inner pads with my own upgraded and stiffer arch support aftermarket pads, from the moment I stepped into these shoes, they were a part of me. The first couple of days of trail running, they felt a little hot inside the toe box, but I guess the fabric must have needed to stretch a little bit because I soon felt like there was a cool breeze on my toes as I ran. I always break my shoes in with a dusting of baking soda a couple of times a week. After doing this a few times, I found these shoes to be as comfortable and reliable as the best pair I ever had. The unorthodox lacing system is really great. At first I thought, what the heck is this? Within a few days I was saying, "Wow!" - no more tedious, precise lacing and tying. You just pull up the top drawstrings, tuck them inside their little over-flap on the tongue, and away you go. If those hard little strings should ever break, I guess I'd have to send the shoes back to Solomon because there is no way to replace them yourself. Other than that and the irritating fact that all shoe manufacturers put a pair of cheap liners in expensive shoes, these Solomons are great. Would I buy another pair? Absolutely.

Great shoes -
This is my 5th pair of Salomon’s and I'll never wear anything else! I didn't recognize any difference between the XO Pro 3d I had previously and the 3d ultra I just purchased. Zappos upgraded my shipment to next day for free and the shoes arrived before I left on a 3 week trip to the black hills of South Dakota--cool bonus that I hadn't planned on. Thanks Zappos!

Fantastic shoe -
I run down and back up a particularly gnarly trail here in Hawaii with my dog Kobe. This shoe has been a god-send. Its light, very stable, the drawstring laces work amazing and so far they have withstood the onslaught of viciously abrasive lava rocks. They're a massive improvement over my old Asolos, reducing injury and keeping my feet cooler in the process. Salomon Rocks (the rocks)!

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultras -
This is the third pair of Salomons I've bought. As before, I'm very happy with the quality, looks, and fit. I'm even happier with my new shoe store "ZAPPOS". Excellent service and Customer Support. You people deserve an Oscar. I've been around the block a few times and I can honestly say your company has been the best buying experience that I have ever had.

Trouble with lace holders -
The shoe is sturdy and provides great protection on tough trail runs - however, I had problems with blistering and with the rest of the shoe in near perfect shape, the heavy duty laces sawed right through their holders, destroying the shoes for trail running. Zappos was great though!

Best All-Around Shoe -
This is my third pair of this model. The lacing system is second to none and they have never broken! Excellent out of the box arch support for medium arch; hour glass shaped profile allows for your foot to swell during exercise with no discomfort.
When you retire them they make a great kickin' around shoe.

New shoes -
I buy these shoes because of the wear, comfort, and look. I see that these shoes have that high shine black plastic in them. They remind me of corofam shoes. If they start looking like basketball court shoes with all the shine, I won't be buying anymore. They are supposed to be trail shoes, not court shoes.

Walked in them for about 50 miles or so. Feel extremely comfortable, hope the lace holders don't break. Otherwise I will find Salomon with the lace system it has is the best shoe on the market.

Great hill climber -
Straight out of the box and up into a hill climbing, rocky environment with no problems. Light, durable shoes with a comfortable all around feel on my feet.

I love these shoes -
These shoes are great. The new roll over technology is great. I haven't twisted my ankle once. I only thing I miss from my old pair is the Gortex lining. I miss it now that I don't have it. I also wish it was a little tighter across the ball of my foot. I just wear thicker socks.

This shoe is great. We ordered a previous version and were so satisfied my son wanted another pair. It fits well and holds up to the wear and tear of a 15 year old!

It is very common in this internet shopping world to be disappointed with an order, but Zappos has not only delivered what they promised, they "delighted the customer." I placed my order at about 2:30 in the afternoon (11:30 pacific time) with no special shipping requests and they were here at 10:00am the following morning. I did not pay any extra for shipping, actually shipping was free, and the product that arrived was exactly what I ordered. They fit perfectly and Zappos has a customer for life.
