Love This Shoe!
I ordered this NB shoe in the blue and I just love the look and the fit. NB runs a 1/2 size smaller, but if you order accordingly, you should be fine. I wear them every day to the gym and they offer good support all around my foot. I would highly recommend them!

They are light and have great arch support...even without the orthodics that I wear. Great until I did a lot of walking on the second day---blisters because of the back of the shoe hitting up high. After breaking-in they are great. I'd buy them again.

Expensive but worth it - WX 1009 -
This is my 3rd pair of the 1009! Needless to say I think they are worth the money. I work out daily - step and aerobic. The pounding I give them wears out the inside before the outside. Then they become yard shoes!

I had surgery 6 wks ago on my foot, and have only been able to wear a supportive tennis shoe since getting out of the "boot" I was in after surgery. I work in a professional environment, and usually wear dress slacks or skirts. I searched for several weeks until I found this brand. I normally wear a 7.5M. I ordered a 38W (equivalent to 7.5W) due to the surgery and also the reviews of this shoe running slightly narrow. It was slightly too long so I returned and ordered the 37W. I love it! My podiatrist told me it will be 6 months to a year before all the swelling is gone in my foot. I was NOT looking forward to the types of shoes "appropriate" for after surgery. Now that I have found Kumfs, I am in heaven! Supportive, orthopedic shoes that are good looking and stylish!

Good all rounder -
I have worn the predecessor to this shoe, the 1007, and found that I needed to go up half a size for this one. I find this shoe to be supportive and cushioning, which I need with my high arch. I use this shoe for walking, running, and gym.

These shoes are super comfortable and I like that you can take out the insoles, as I have orthotics that I have to put in my shoes. My foot care specialist actually recommended this brand and I am very happy with them.

Tried these shoes at a New Balance store. Sizing is very mysterious. The 8.5 wide was too short but the width was fine; 9 wide was too long and wide. While I will not criticize this shoe, as it seems to work for many people, it does not work for my foot anatomy.

WX1009 -
I work out everyday, so having a versatile workout shoe is important. The WX1009 is comfortable on my running days, and supportive for my weight training. Overall, the shoe has performed to my expectations and I am happy with it.

Awesome Shoes - Excellent pair of shoes. I was impressed from the time I put them on. I have fibromyalgia so my feet hurt if I don't have the right fit and comfortable shoes. I would highly recommend this shoe.

Very happy with purchase -
Ive been a New balance fan since high school (15 yrs) and have been wearing the cross trainers for the past few years. I think the 1000 series last longer than a year and Im very happy with this new pair.

I love these shoes!
I like these shoes so much that I bought a pink pair and a blue pair. They are very comfortable and have lots of padding. I wore them for walking in Boston and my feet didn't hurt at all!

This shoe provides the perfect amount of support and comfort. I do aerobic workout tapes and out door walking with a little running. It's a great shoe.

New Balance -
I am very happy with the New Balance tennis shoes. They look good and are very comfortable. They are light weight and also allow your feet to breath. I bought them because I liked the looks of them and I was not disappointed. The fit true to size. Zappos did a great job delivered them to my door the next day. I would recommend ordering from Zappos and have told my friends about it.

More like the NB WX 1007 -
I've been loyal to NB cross trainers 1000 series for years. The WX 1007 were my favorite model. Unfortunately, it was replaced with the 1008 and did not feel anything like the 1007s. I blistered terribly with the 1008. The 1009 fits more like the 1007 and I like the look of the shoe.

Not enough support for cross-training -
I am baffled by the descriptions of this shoe. I found it to be very stiff and to not offer enough support, especially in the toe box. Moreover, the shoe runs small. I wear a 9.5 dress shoe and usually buy a size 10 in athletic shoes. I would need a 10.5 in this shoe, as my toes are terribly crowded in the 10. I used to buy this shoe every year, but NB changed the design and since then its been an utter disappointment. I am returning these for an Asics cross-trainer.

Info about sizing -
I first bought this shoe in a New Balance store, and unbeknownst to me, the know-it-all clerk had me try on a wide size. I commented that my heel lifted up a little, and he said that was normal until the shoe broke in. When I got home I noticed that it was a wide size, and I just couldn't rest easy until I had tried the normal width, so I ordered it from Zappos. To my surprise, it actually felt too SHORT as opposed to too narrow. The heel situation was the same. So I guess the know-it-all clerk knew it all after all! The moral of this story is that it can sometimes be hard to tell if a shoe is too short, or if it just needs to be a little wider.

Terrific Shoe -
I have a wide foot die to a bunion. I was looking for good lateral support as I am a group exercise instructor. This shoe was perfect from the minute I put it on-- no "break-in" needed. Looks great even on my 9 1/2 size foot. True to size. Fantastic!

Right Size and Extra Cushion a MUST for this shoe.
I am a Jazzerciser who needs great cushioning with lots of lateral support. I am a heavy and large body type with weak knees.
BOO HOO, I was so sad when I got this shoe. I had such HIGH expectations based off of the last versions reviews. I have bought several NB shoes before and have always been a 9.5 Wide but this shoe was much too big in length and width so it has caused slippage issues. The shoe was nowhere near what I was expecting for cushioning, I was expecting the lateral support of a trainer with the cushioning of a running shoe
no luck. All in all, the shoe as is was ok
but defiantly a disappointment.
THE STORY CONTINUES
while out shopping with Mom (read, shes buying) went into an actual NB store and told them my woes
they properly fitted me with the correct size, which in this shoe is a 9 wide AND put in a specialized cushioning insert (Pressure Relief Insoles by Browns New Balance). Now the shoes are JUST DREAMY!!! Every thing I was looking for!

Excellent Shoe -
I love the new balance WX1009. It's very comfortable. It's great for running and walking. I also love that it came in 10.5! 10 would have been fine but that extra cushion is perfect. This shoe is a little pricey (I wavered on that a bit) but I only buy New Balance tennis shoes and I know the wear and tear on them is pretty good!:)

Okay looking, but runs large -
I have a medium build with bad knees so I was looking for a supportive shoe with ample cushioning. I thought that I had found the perfect shoes in the WX1009. I was very disappointed with the shoe when it arrived. The shoe ran large in both size and width...and it felt more like a stability shoe than the cushion shoe that I was after. I'm continuing my search...Boo.

Eh, good for ankle/lateral support, but that's it -
I know trainers don't have that much cushioning to begin with, but my foot was swimming in this shoe and there was no cushioning to speak of really. The ankle support was really good though if that's what you're looking for.

 | | My daughter was sick in bed right before a big dance. She wanted silver shoes for her outfit. I shopped and could not find a pair, so I went online to your site. Not only did you have silver but you had her size 5 ½, which is not so easy to find sometimes. You shipped them for free the very next day and saved the day and my daughters outfit! She loved them thank you so much for making a difficult situation much, much better!!! | | ~ , October 31 2008
