Sue -
I was hesitant to buy this shoe, after reading all the reviews. I am a true Saucony runner - I have been running in Hurricanes for years. Like many people, I became really attached to the 7. Well, this shoe is just as comfortable, just as cushioned, as the 7. I am very glad I bought it!

Very cushiony!
I was looking for a shoe that would help with over-pronating, feel really cushiony, and look good, too. This shoe has it! I was hesitant because some reviewers didn't like it - comparing it to a previous model they liked better. I do not know of any other Saucony shoes - this is my first. I REALLY liked the fit with this right out of the box. They are sooo cushiony!!! I have narrow feet and heels and my heels often lift out of shoes. Also, I need arch support, but this shoe offers little. However, I think they work because they help counter the pronation that makes fallen arches more painful. Instead of using my orthotics, I decided to try the shoe with no additional arch supports and they supported my feet fine. I will say though that I've had to tighten up the laces as the leather has softened quickly over the past 2 weeks or so and this makes the laces a bit long. I may end up adding those inserts later or lace them differently to help take up space. I definitely think the shoe is true to size with just enough space in the toe box to comfortably wiggle my toes and to accommodate my sometimes painful bunion. I have also experienced a dramatic reduction in shin splints when running with these shoes. I am NOT a natural runner, but I do it twice a week and have always suffered in the shins
but not any more! After reading about all my feet issues and the fact that these shoes have helped - you must realize they are worth trying on! You have nothing to lose!

Excellent shoes -
This is my fourth pair of Saucony Progrids and I love them. They have great cushion, durability, and comfort. I'd highly recommend this shoe to anyone. I buy a half size larger than my normal size and the shoe is very true to size.

My first pair of Saucony (after 10 years of running!) -
Because I have an unusual size (5-1/2 wide) I have worn New Balance only for the past 10 years. I always thought they were the only running shoes to come in wide widths. I was absolutely thrilled with my new Saucony... they were the most comfortable running shoes I've ever worn. I'll never go back to New Balance.

Great shoe - runs narrow -
I'm not sure if this shoe runs narrow or has a shallow toe box, but I am unable to wear thicker socks with these shoes. I don't mind, however, since this is the first shoe I've tried that doesn't aggravate my ACL.

My Sauconys are great. They offer stability without added weight. They are slightly wider than the previous Sauconys I've bought, but overall, good shoe.

Great purchase!
I like to run but my one foot has a bunion. The mesh area at the exact spot where the bunion is makes running a breeze. Very comfortable.

OMG - These are great!
I no longer run, but I do a lot of cardio - (Zumba, Urban Rebounding, Spinning, etc). As an instructor and a person who overpronates and someone who let her shoes get old - I found the shin splints returning, I was getting pain in the back of my knee and just feeling like I was falling apart (even with my orthotics in my shoes)! Got the Saucony Progrid Hurricane 10W after doing some research and was led to believe they were meant for those who overpronate and need extra cushioning and need room for an orthotic. I am NOT disappointed! They are very comfortable, fit just right, and my legs and knees feel wonderful!!!

Great -
I had been looking for a pair of shoes that fit me really well and provides a soft cushy feel. I used to use New Balance, the 1220s but then needed to switch. I really like the Saucony Progrid Hurricane 10. I've bought a second pair. It fits me really well. I have wide feet at the forefoot and a small heel. Perfect.

So good -
I have a very hard time finding shoes and sneakers that I can even get on my foot. These really fit the bill. I wear them happily and comfortably.

Wait for Saucony to bring back older Hurricanes!
Zappos is GREAT! I live in the DFW metroplex & can't find Saucony selections anywhere but at Zappos. I currently own 6 pair & wear them for everything due to a lower back problem. Saucony brand saves my back. The Hurricane 7 is my favorite pair & reserve them for working out & treadmill. The Hurricane 8 were great shoes. The Hurricane 9 & 10 are designed differently & I returned both, thanks to Zappos. They need to go back to the original Hurricane design of 7. 9 & 10 have a wide heel, 10 has a weird ripple in the ball of your foot and both run large. I kept my 7s for workout because the 7s & 8s are no longer available. I ordered the Grid Omni 5 TRW for the 2nd time to have as my everyday pair since none of the Hurricanes available are comfortable. Come on Saucony-give us our Hurricane 7 style back. If it is not broken, don't fix it! Thank you Zappos!

One great plus, but many negatives -
On the plus side, the Progrid cushioning is exceptional--the best cushioning of any running shoe I've ever tried. Sadly, that's outweighed by the negatives. The stability and arch support are both seriously inadequate. The fit in the heel and midfoot also are very poor. Saucony used to be renowned for its wide, roomy toe boxes but nice snug heel fit. Not so with this shoe! The heel and midfoot and cut very wide; even medium-sized feet will be unstable and slide and develop blisters. That's compounded by inadequate padding around the heel, which would have helped hold the foot in place. The heel also is cut on the high side.
I bought the Hurricane as a replacement for my Etonic Jeparas. While the Hurricane's cushioning and low weight are both superior to the Etonic Jepara, its negatives are so great that I expect I'll be returning to the Jepara. Bottom line: don't buy this shoe if you're looking for a stability shoe or the vaunted Saucony fit.
Finally, about Zappos, only good things to say. The telephone representative processed my order very politely and efficiently, and the web-site was very informative and easy to navigate. Thanks Zappos!

The best overall workout shoe I have ever owned!
I love these shoes. These are by far the most comfortable and supportive running/workout shoes for me. I have worn quite a few different Saucony styles and these are the best ones yet. I usually go up 1/2 size in Saucony but these run true to size. Worth the money!

Not what I had hoped for -
I've been buying Saucony running sneakers for ten years; they're the only running sneakers I'll buy. This pair has been disappointing. The shoe is too narrow. The trademark roomy toe box is missing from this shoe and the ultra stiff heel guard has given me the worst blisters I've ever had. I would return this shoe if I hadn't already worn them outside. I'm completely disappointed with the fit and may actually try a different brand after ten years of being a loyal Saucony customer.

Great shoe, Great Zappos -
Came home from the gym and realized my old Sauconys were a little worse for wear. I hopped on to Zappos, found a pair that looked cute with decent reviews and had my brand new pair of gym shoes the next day. I wore them immediately and love them. Perfect fit, no blisters, and they look good too.

A disappointment -
Only moderate stability in this model of Hurricane. The Arch-Lock is less effective and stiff in the instep, not allowing the foot to move naturally. It is better to skip the X and hope that the XI is an improvement

If it ain't broke -
This model of Hurricane is a far cry from the Vs and 8s of the past; cheaply made, with less stability support than its predecessors. The Arch Lock is poorly designed and frankly a bit painful after 4+ miles. This is my 6th pair of Hurricanes and if these are Sauconys idea of improvements, it will be my last!

This is my 4th Hurricane and unfortunately they didn't feel the way the last 4 have felt. They felt bigger and the arch support was lacking. I had to return them.
