Terrific Toachi! This shoe is beyond my expectations! I was a little hesitant because of the price, but glad I made the investment! I kayak and am tired of the backless Keens I have worn for the last 5 years (slip off in water all the time, rocks get in). And my Teva thongs were not protective enough for dragging kayak through shallow rocks. This shoe is comfortable and convertible enough to still feel as if I am wearing a water sandal, but, protective enough so that I don't worry about bruised toes! LOVE THEM!

Teva Toachis are great -
This shoe fits my needs perfectly. It's the sandal with a protected toe I was looking for. I own the Teva rugged nylon, which I also recommend and like its looks better. I can't say I think these are great looking because I have a narrow foot and they appear too wide… which they are. However, the 3 velcro straps offer enough adjustment that I still get support and they have a better arch support than any sandals I've owned. I'm on my feet 6-8 hours a day and need to keep heavy boxes off my toes in my warehouse. I also do a lot of walking in our business and they don't rub my feet like some sandals I've owned. I bought these for a Colorado River rafting trip where we would be hiking and rafting. They were awful for wet hikes on rocks. I had absolutely no traction on rocks when the soles were wet. I finally used a pair of Merrill water shoes I had along for hiking and they were soooo much better. The Toachis were fine on the raft and provided toe protection when walking in camp but I will never hike in them again in wet rocky conditions.

The Teva Toachi was purchased for a vacation at Cayman Brac. The hiking terrain there is rated at high difficulty due to uneven, sharp, volcanic and lime stone walking surfaces. The shoes faired unbelievably well through hiking, rock climbing, biking, jogging, kayaking, and swimming. The materials barely look worn after 2 weeks of expeditious travels and street wear. Fit is somewhat adjustable with straps and the shoe is true to size overall. I recommend very much.

Walking in the rain -
I was taking a trip to Costa Rica in the rainy season-my son-in-law recommended the Teva. It was perfect for dry and for the rain. It did not slip on my foot or slip when walking on any surfaces. I decided on the closed toe for safety-to protect when hiking. I was very pleased with the Teva.

They did the job marvelously!!! I bought these shoes for a recent clipper ship cruise in the French Polynesia Islands. They were perfect for the tender boat excursions from the ship to small islands – where we snorkeled, hiked, and sunned ourselves. Perfect foot protection from coral and shells, great drainage, perfect for the "wet landings" and having traction for climbing the ladder back into the tender, and comfortable for short hikes around the flora and fauna on these very exotic islands. Not the most stylish shoe in the world, but very comfortable and completely did the job they were intended for. Now, I might even pull them out for state-side jaunts to the Jersey shore. Oh, and loved the price and Zappos great service. I discovered on the way to the airport that I had forgotten these critical shoes, called Zappos from the car and they offered to ship another pair to the first hotel on our journey. Fortunately, I enlisted a family member to break into my house and rush them to the airport in time for our first flight so it wasn't necessary, but Zappos is the best.

Terrific shoes - I was a little concerned because some of the reviews noted "pinching" from the drain holes. Out of the box, they were fantastically comfortable but I did notice the pinching feeling after about an hour. However, they were never actually painful and I could find no marks on my feet, so I don't think they were really pinching. Five days later, I left for a canoe trip to the Quetico Park in Canada. For seven days, I wore these shoes from sun up to sun down. Our longest portage was about a mile and all of the portages were rough. These sandals were fantastic. On the first day I got a little rubby spot on the arch of my foot, but after keeping a band-aid on it for a day, it was gone and didn't return. The arch may seem uncomfortably high at first, but on extended portages carrying 80 lbs. or more of equipment or canoes, I appreciated the support. And after seeing the condition of the feet of the other campers, I can say that I think these sandals are just about the best. Upon arriving home, I didn't have a single blister (the one on my arch having converted to a callous by day 2). While they did feel a little wider than marked, they were easily and quickly tightened before each portage and I didn't experience any slippage.

Love these sandals. I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews about the drain holes, but had absolutely no problem. Didn't feel them at all. I have very flat feet and the arch is great - better than the Keens. The toe protection is good, although I wish it covered all my toes. Very comfortable footbed. Great right out of the box. Easily adjustable. These will now be my favorite sandals.

Wow! Very Nice!
I'm not a big-time rugged hiker, but need something designed for rough treatment and water, with good traction, comfort, and VERY stable on my feet. Been wearing Earth shoes only - love 'em, but feel their "sport sandals" just LOOK like sport sandals in styling (boo!). Shifting to any Teva was a leap for me as their web-strapping styles have never been a fit - took a chance on these because other wearers mentioned great arch support.
This Toachi is terrific! Super-adjustable and yes, great arch support. Wore them on steep Colorado mountain trails and Great Sand Dunes (sand AND water) right away with total comfort. The cushioned stretch material below the adjusting straps is excellent - no chafing anywhere. Do all the strap-adjusting you need, then just use the single click-clasp to get on and off - clever. The "bumper" toe is a nice feature, too (if you've ever stubbed a cactus...). PS - I quickly got accustomed to the drain-holes others have mentioned - can feel them slightly, but they aren't a big deal - and they work!

I personally like the looks of Keen sandals better, but Keens do not have much arch support for my Plantar Fasciitis. These have great arch support and have a squishy sole like Keens. I usually wear a size 9 - 9 1/2 and the size 9 was a perfect fit.

I LOVE this sandal! I have wide feet and it seems that every shoe I buy needs breaking in and a level of discomfort. Not this shoe! It took me awhile to figure out how I want the straps. It is super adjustable! I like it pretty loose so my toe doesn't touch the toe protector. I went hiking/camping the day after I got it… no pain! They got wet and dried very quickly. I didn’t notice the holes on the bottom at all. I don't think this shoe is ugly. My mom instantly complimented the style AND color. Looks good with cargo shorts or some jeans. I am SUPER satisfied! Plus, super fast shipping.

They are taking a bit of breaking in for me. I do have very flat feet and the high arch is a bit much for my right foot. I think with a bit of time I will adjust. I just want to say that Zappos is one of the best stores of any kind on the web!

I thought these were going to work out as the Teva line has changed so much and the 3 other pairs I ordered fit poorly.
These have so called drainage ports, BUT when I am stepping down on them on the ball of my foot--I can feel the holes and it feels like a little rock inside my shoes. I kept taking the shoe off and inspecting it, then I felt it with my fingers and this is a design flaw with the shoes. I called Teva, but they really didn’t seem interested in the quality issue of this shoe. I’m disappointed to say the least.

More than sandals -
This is the first pair of sport sandals or Teva’s that I have ever tried. I was reluctant to pay even $51 for the sea foam shoes, and had decided before they arrived that I would return them... until I tried them on. They're feather-light, well-cushioned, and supportive, and they just baby your feet. There is a pinch around the air holes at the very beginning, but this quickly fades as the shoe conforms to your foot (I wore mine twice around the house and they were fine after that). I am officially hooked, and I only wish they were cute enough to wear all of the time. Can't wait to try them in the water!
P.S. Zappos is just the BEST, hands down.

Soo comfortable!
I just received these yesterday and have been wearing them all morning today...it's lunch time and no problems whatsoever with these. They were comfortable right out of the box. The foot bed is so soft and cushy I don't want to take them off! I received many compliments already this morning while out on errands on the style and color. I have the sea foam green which I thought was the most feminine and would go nicely with everything and at half the price of the other colors an incredible bargain. I bought these primarily for walking, biking and sporty activities but I can see wearing them much more often! I wasn't sure about the look of the covered toe but to me they are kind of like a bulldog...so ugly they're cute! I did notice the drainage holes at first but they did not cause me any discomfort and I already don't notice them anymore. I can't wait to wear them for a class trip to the zoo tomorrow. I anticipate being very comfortable walking in them all day! I even ordered a pair in the same color for my 7 year old since she saw mine and wanted them. They will be great for her as she's very, very active and her little toesies will be protected.

Most comfortable sandal EVER!
I absolutely love these sandals. I did however have to send back the first pair because they were a half size too big. I ordered the exact same size that I wear in Nike's and these ran a bit larger. So I returned the big pair and got the half size smaller with Zappos awesome free ship return.
As soon as I put these sandals on I was in love. Need mind you; I did feel that pinching feeling everyone talks about. The reason I give a 5 star considering the pinching you ask??? I asked that same question after reading all the reviews about the pinching and yet the shoe still getting so many stars. Well, it goes away. I considered that the "breaking in" of the shoe. It took maybe 3 short walks down to the damn and then no more pinching. No other part of the shoe needed "breaking in" because they were soo comfortable right out of the box. Just like wearing my favorite pair of tennis shoes, but in a sandal. I have never been so pleased with a pair of sandals in my life.
We moved out to our cabin this year (got sick of city life) and I needed a great pair of sandals for the river, lake and hiking. I loved the fact that these had the drain holes in the bottom for the water to flow through. That is the only reason I ordered these. Soo glad I did. They are great in the river. I didn't have any problems with the pebble rock getting stuck in the sandal. I lift my foot and the flow of the river washed the rock right out in no time. When exiting the water the sole is practically dry because all of the water escaped. None of that "squish, squish, squish" with these shoes. EVERYONE was asking me where I got these shoes as they were "squishing" along in their regular 'ol water shoes.

These are GREAT shoes! They fit perfectly true to size; have the best arch support I've worn in a long time, look good. The drain holes never bothered me at all (but maybe I have tough feet, I am barefoot a lot). I wasn't thrilled to spend so much money on a pair of sandals, but I think these will be with me a long time!

I would not choose this color normally, but they were twice as cheap as the other colors. Yea! I do like them now that I have them. I used them kayaking so they got wet. Yea! After they were wet the rubbed blisters when I walked around camp. Boo!

Teva Toachi review -
I bought this shoe to water jog in the pool with, since I have Plantar Fac. The shoe has great traction with the Spyder rubber and very good arch support. I wish I could adjust it tighter, but it only has three adjustments. It stays on my foot well, and is very light weight. So I'm willing to forgo the adjustment for the weight.

Wonderful shoe.

Great shoe. I couldn't go anywhere without someone commenting on the shoe. It provided the feeling of an open toe sandal while protecting my toes. Water drains and evaporates quickly, so you’re not left squishing around for everyone to hear.

I have purchased from you for years and did so again this week - needing some athletic shoes I ordered on Tuesday hoping to have them before my trip next week. You sent them the same day and they arrived the next - and for no additional cost-excellent. But more than that - over the years I have only had to return a couple of items and the return was made painless by the inclosed packing slip and ability to take to a UPS store; then the credit was made to my account quickly, unlike another company I made the mistake of trying - it took 6 weeks to get the credit on my account and
the product was defective. I have only received quality products from Zappos and am just so excited to find a company that actually knows what customer service really is and does it! I recommend you all the time to friends and family; I have a narrow foot and can not find a local shoe store that carries narrows, so I must buy online, Zappos offers more options than anyone.
