Nike's Air Structure Triax+ 10 GTX -
As a person with a recurrent knee problem from a horseback riding accident many years ago, I find that the most comfortable walking shoes, with the most shock absorption, are, in fact, running shoes. Planning a trip to Italy this spring, I wanted a pair of GORTEX running shoes, especially for Venice. I wanted road running shoes, not trail running shoes. The salesman assured me that these were, in fact, road running shoes. Well, I've worn them several times and am quite sure that they are actually trail runners. The sole is much more inflexible, with less "give" than road runners have. So they're really not very comfortable for walking on pavement. Not much shock absorption. If this is not a concern -- they're fine. And very attractive.
