Remove the tag and the shoe is PERFECT -
Always thought of Mephisto as super ugly grandpa shoes, but this classic cap-toe oxford is beautiful and comfortable. Rubber sole makes it perfect for a variety of occasions. Removed that horrible tag and it's the perfect shoe. Insole is slippery, so I recommend extra insoles or else thick socks with this shoe.

Mephisto is in a class of its own. My husband has tried other brands, due to the higher price point of Mephisto, but says this is beyond compare.
This was a perfect birthday present!

Gallo great for the office!
I'm a conservative dresser and find the Gallo perfect for the office, with style and great comfort for lunchtime walks. This is my fifth pair of Mephistos (also have Abel, Marlon, Cap Vert loafers, and Sam sandals), and the Gallos fit just like all the others at a half size larger than marked (i.e., I'm usually a 9.5 but with Mephistos a 9 fits perfectly).

I have used Mephisto shoes for many years. This is a great and more stylish model.
I look forward to many comfortable wearings.
Of interest is that the more recent Mephisto’s have not worn as well or as long as the original French versions.
