I bought these shoes a half-size larger than my actual size, and they fit just fine. In terms of style, they are bland looking. The toe is very broad and square, and the stitching is hard to see. They look fine with everyday clothing--jeans, casual slacks--but won\'t work for a dressy night out on the town. All in all, they\'re very functional for everyday use.

Don’t let the picture deceive you! In the photo, the color is much warmer and almost has a rustic look. I couldn’t believe these were the same boots when I got them because the leather looks like dark brown, matte vinyl - I had to look at the tag to check and see that they were indeed leather! As far as sizing, I ordered a 1/2 size up per some of the other reviews that they run large, and they were too big. Order your regular size.

This is a good basic boot. It's not as sleek as some of my other boots but I like the stitching detail. They are not as comfortable as other ankle boots I have (Nine West & Bandolino). The sole is a bit thin & hard for long walks but the heel cushion is nice. I ordered a wide width which was fine for winter socks but a felt lengthwise they ran true to size. Of course Zappos is great for selection, description and photos.

Good looking & comfortable -
This is my 3rd pair of Fitzwell shoes and once again they don't disappoint. Zappos has a very accurate photo of the boots. They are just as good looking as suggested. They are mostly very comfortable. I was just a bit surprised they weren't a little more cushiony inside. That being said, these are still very comfortable boots that I wear for about 10 hours per day with no problems. Definitely a great purchase.

Stylish and Comfortable -
I like this boot! It's got a nice, casual style to it, and its comfortable overall. I followed the review recommendations in ordering and went 1/2 a size larger and with wide instead of medium width. I find that with this boot, those recommendations are less applicable that with other Fitzwell styles I've tried. The wide is *really* wide. Otherwise, it's great...no "breaking in" period at all!

Disappointed -
I have purchased this brand before and thought I would have same feeling about this boot but boy was I wrong. The toe box is too wide and gives me a feel of an old style not up to date style. It was narrower than expected so for these reasons I am returning. Maybe next time as this one missed the style.

Nice Boot -
I also took the advice of other reviewers and bought the boot a half size larger. Fits very well, it's a lovely style and the heel is just right. I would prefer a bit more padding in the boot, but I just got some gel inserts and those worked very well. Very nice boots, great price. I love them.

Great Basic Boot -
I was looking for another simple, lowish black boot to replace another pair (different brand) that finally bit the dust. These were marked wide, but actually took a little bit of time to "break in" (my foot is really wide). Now I put them on and forget about them. Well made, very nice. Good value.

Comfortable, cute boot at a good price -
I live in the northeast and wanted a pair of boots without stiletto 3" heels, as snow and ice are a winter staple. These boots are great, especially with pants/jeans. I read other reviews, and was going to order a wide width (many reviewers said the shoe felt narrower than usual) but only the regular width was available in my size - I normally order regular width. Although initially it felt a bit snug, after wearing the boot a few times, the leather stretched a little and I am now glad I didn't order the wide width boot. The boots are comfortable, although I don't notice the gel heel insert providing much additional comfort. Quality seems good, and I like the stitching detail- cute look for an otherwise basic-style boot.

Great everyday boot -
After reading the reviews I ordered a W in my normal size and it fits perfectly. Looks exactly like I thought it would and feels great. Not a lot of padding, but fine for normal wear. After standing or walking for several hours my feet hurt, but then again I'm 7 months pregnant so not surprising. I am very happy with the purchase, after spending weeks looking at for a boot like this in stores.

Fitz surprisingly well -
I followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered this shoe a half size larger than my normal. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to wear it immediately with no breaking-in period. The shoe is as comfortable as any shoe with a 2-inch heel can be, and it looks good! Thank you reviewers.

The POKING gel cushion -
Nice boot- BUT: I had to cut-out the little heel-cushion. It does not cover the whole heel; it is a small, narrow pad that actually poked my heel and made it oh so very uncomfortable. SOLUTION: cut out the gel insert, and buy Dr. Scholl's gel 3/4-foot pad insert. Now the boot feels awesome!

Great Boots!
Took others advice and got my size in the wide width. Loved them! The fit was great (I usually do not buy wide widths), I walked all day in them on a trip to NY.

Great boot! I bought this to wear with slacks or jeans. It is perfect for that -- the heel is just right; not high, but not like a flat boot, and sturdy. The squared toe makes it comfortable to wear all day, and the look is great. I got the brown leather. Good buy.

A good basic -
I like these shoes, they look great with pants and jeans at work. I am normally a 10 and a half and the 11 fit me fine. However, the sole is thin and not very cushioned. I take them off as soon as I get home.

A Keeper -
Very square toed which allows room for feet, but not quite as fashionable. Fitzwell's usually feel more padded/cushioned than this one feels so I wear a cushioned sock instead. The chunky heel provides good support, balance for a 2 incher.

Perfect boot!
I usually have problems finding good shoes due to a bunionette and a heel spur. When I received the boots, it fit like a glove, I ordered a wide size. I fell in love with the boot! I wore it all day long and I am on my feet about 12 hours a day. Not once did I complain that my feet hurt. I didn't have to break them in and I get compliments all the time. Great Boot!!!! Fitzwell Fit Well!!!

I really liked the look of this boot, but it was too narrow. I normally wear a 7.5 to 8 and sometimes wear a wide width shoe. I have other Fitzwell shoes in size 8W and they fit well, but this shoe was too narrow. I had to return it.

I can't thank Heather (a fellow reviewer) enough. She wrote that a wide in this boot fit her narrow foot just fine. I, too, have a narrow-ish foot and would never have ordered the remaining 9.5 W Zappos had in stock. I am so glad I did. The boot (sized up .5 size and a W) fits beautifully. I am thrilled. A good looking, good fitting boot is a treasure indeed.

I ordered these boots and although they looked beautiful and were my usual size, I had to return them. They were so tight I was afraid that even the stretching that normally occurs after a few wearings would not be enough. They felt at least one size smaller and much narrower than the size marked. A shame because they are really nice boots.

When I first put these shoes on, I really thought I wasn't going to be able to wear them - they were very uncomfortable (especially on the heel), but I needed to wear them that night and as it turns out, they were "broken in" and felt great with in 10-15 minutes. By the time I left the house, they were fine. I've never had a shoe do that. I wear them all of the time now.

I've warn them with skirts and jeans. Look great casual or dressed up. I'm an 8.5, ordered a 9, and it fits perfectly.

And I don't normally use teen-age expressions, but all I can say is OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! You rock!!!!!!!!!! Last week, I ordered shoes, and received one pair the very next day. The other shoes came the day after that. Sadly, none of them fit, and I had to return them all. Yesterday, I notified you of the return, printed out my FREE return shipping labels, and ordered one style in a different size.
