I just ordered my second pair of these. I had the black and now the brown leather. These are fab shoes, I absolutely love them, so comfy! The only thing was I had to order down a half size. They seem to suit my high arch, too. They look good with anything from a skirt or dress, but I like them with a smart pair of jeans.

Very pleased with my Tara's. I've never really been a heel person but needed something nicer that I could dress up or down. After trying them in a store, they did not have the black I wanted, and then taking note of the previous comments here on size I ordered them from Zappos They are very comfortable and fit really well, I'm actually quite surprised! I'm sure once I get used to the heel height, which is my problem not the shoes, they will be a great shoe and a keeper. I'm seriously wondering about the brown now too. How do they look? Great in that dressy casual sort of way. They do look nice with a dress but I think they look even better with dress pants and nylons in that smart casual sort of way.

Very comfortable, I love this shoe, really love it! It’s extremely comfortable and one of the best I have had in years. I spend a lot of time on my feet so comfort is important to me. I will probably get another color. I just want to comment on some of the previous criticism. It seems that when selecting the size people weren't taking into account that this is not a regular flat Dansko or clog but a shoe with a heel. That might have avoided some of the problems. I have nothing but praise for this one. It looks great too with both skirts and pants with nylons.

I own several pairs of Danskos and this is the only pair that is not comfortable. My foot slides to the front of the shoe. I have a high arch and they do not offer the support I need.

These shoes are GORGEOUS, but . . .
I'm so sad because these shoes look AMAZING, but I encountered the same problems as some other reviewers as far as the toes slipping forward to the front of the shoe, thereby "smooshing" them. Unfortunately, No Slip inserts didn't help. It's a true shame bc I've never been more in love w/ a shoe! But please note that I also have a low arch & flat feet - although the width & arch support felt great, so I'm not too certain that contributed to the problem. I have a feeling if the heel were a bit shorter & the toe box a bit roomier these would be perfect. But unfortunately that's not the case, so. . . back I send them w/ a very heavy heart! Zappos customer service, as always, was beyond spectacular. I already had to send them back once to size down & not only did they NOT charge my card again as some companies will do, but I got my replacement size the very next day before they even received my return! Good luck finding another company that'll go THAT extra mile! :)

Loving my Taras -
I've enjoyed my shoes; very comfortable and I love the way it looks. I found that I had to order 1/2 size smaller to keep the shoes from slipping off my feet. I think if it wasn't a high heel, my normal size would have been okay. I am so glad that these shoes have 1/2 sizes, otherwise I would not have been able to buy them, because one whole size was too much.

Great looking shoe but not comfortable like most Danskos -
I have several pairs of Danskos (all more clog style). I have a very high arch and Danskos usually provide good support; however, this shoe did not have as much support as others and my foot slid forward hurting my toes. I have a narrow foot so maybe a more medium width foot would not have the same issue. They do look good but sadly, I had to return them

BEST pump!
My feet are pretty wide and these pumps fit and look great! I even had to buy one in brown as well.

I have a very high arch and have had incredible difficulty finding shoes with a heel that are comfortable. These shoes are just awesome!

I can wear these all day!
I love Dansko shoes, but I usually prefer the look of heels, so I choose Soffts or other brands that do comfort well with a bit of heel. I end up wearing my Dansko clogs more around the house, to be honest. These Tara maryjanes are quite nice, however. The heel is quite supportive -- far more than I've gotten used to, I'm afraid -- it felt like wearing regular shoes. Size 39 fit my 8.5 feet quite well, and I received several "Ooooh, those are cute!" comments as I wore them for a full day with no break-in problems. I'd buy them again, but wish that dansko had more shoes like them to choose from. Zappos, of course, was prompt and wonderful!

Cuter than I expected -
I think these shoes actually look cuter in person than they do in the picture. They also make your foot look smaller, always a plus! I have a wide foot, and the regular width fit me. But I think the shoes run a little small. I usually wear an 8.5, but in these I'm going to go back and order the 9. I haven't worn them yet, but they seem really comfortable.

Very disappointing -
I loved the look of these shoes and ordered them because I already have a lot of Dansko's which I wear all the time, HOWEVER, I have found these shoes very uncomfortable, and impossible to wear. I tried everything I can think of to make them more comfortable, and in the end I just stopped trying to wear them.

This is a great shoe, but on my foot, it is a little tight across the area just above the toes. I guess because it is straight across and not curved. It’s okay though - just have to be careful not to wear a thick sock! It's a beautiful shoe and I feel so great wearing it. Really classy looking. Had to return the first one and get a half size larger, which surprised me since I didn't think Dansko made 1/2 sizes. I usually wear either a 37 or 38 - but this is a 37.5 & is just great. Any bigger & it would slip off.

Love this shoe!
I'm very happy with my new Dansko shoes. They're like a grown-up version of a Mary Jane. I've been wearing Dansko shoes for years. I bought the Tara in the brown leather and I like them so much I'm thinking about buying the black suede. They're easy to dress up or wear with jeans! Not as comfortable as the Dansko Sonja clog or Monika, but this is a completely different style with a higher heel.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is a great looking, comfortable shoe. It is a great quality shoe, well-made, but a bit pricey even for the high quality. It can be dressed up or down and the style goes just as well with skirts or pants. I haven't had any problems with discomfort, but I don't have any foot problems. Another reviewer mentioned that they look clunky, but I disagree. However, I also wear Dr. Martens, so perhaps it's all relative.

Snappy work/dress shoe -
Comfortable and stylish for work and after hours, especially as the weather gets cooler. I was surprised at how warm the shoe was inside without stockings, so if you're feet sweat, where something with them, if not, no worries.

This shoe is fantastic! It's stylish, sturdy and very comfortable! It gives a professional look, and the thick heel provides excellent balance that prevents wobbling, even when I'm walking very fast. It's a great shoe. Definitely worth the money!!

Great look for the professional work environment, true to size and comfortable. I wore them for about 10 hours and my back was in great shape but my feet were a little tired. Still a great shoe overall.

Cute, but uncomfortable -
I really wanted to like this shoe, but it just is not for me. I suffered the same problem of my foot sliding forward and crowding my toes, which got to be painful in less than an hour of testing the fit out at home. Because of this, my weight was concentrated on the ball of my foot, adding to the pain and discomfort. I also have a low arch and flat foot, and the strap just could not be adjusted enough to keep my heel from slipping out of the shoe (and I had the proper size). Zappos.com's customer service is awesome. They expedited my shipping at no cost to me, which I really appreciated. Even though I will be returning this shoe, I will be buying from Zappos again because of their excellent service!

I wish they felt as good as they looked.
I agree with the other posters who have had the sliding problem. These shoes felt great when I tried them on but did not hold up when I wore them to work. My foot slid down and I had constant pain in my toes and balls of feet. To make matters worse I have ankle issues and this particular angle was enough to cripple me by the end of the work day.
The sad thing is that I did not anticipate the problems and have already thrown away the packaging and thus cannot return them (totally my fault, I'm sure Zappos and Dansko would take them back otherwise). Lesson learned!
If you normally have issues with heels this shoe will not solve them.

I was surprised at how customer friendly the instructions were and how quickly I was able to get my return label. Immediately after that I put another order except one size lower. Apparently I checked today and my item was put on priority with no extra cost. That is awesome customer service. Thanks Zappos team and continue providing this outstanding service!
