I bought a half size smaller due to the reviews and they were too small for me. They have excellent arch support!!!! The color was a bit too orange-ish for me, so I will not buy the next size up.

I like the shoe very much, but it is just a little roomy for me and I'm sure the next size down would be too short. I bought both the red and the teal. I loved the red, but didn't care as much for the teal--I thought it wasn't a deep enough color. I think they're great--they just didn't work for me.

These run large!
I ordered a 10 and the box came labeled in European size 42, when I always wear a 41. Perhaps Zappos should list these using the European sizes to make it clearer for customers. These were so big that I had to send them back! Cute and super comfy though!

I love this shoe and would buy it in other colors if more size 11s were available. It's very cute and stylish (even my teenage daughters love it!), yet comfortable - the perfect flat!

These are wonderful shoes - so simple and classic and the most comfortable flats I've ever owned. Well worth the money. Unlike most cute flats I've owned, I didn't need a single band-aid to get my heels through the breaking-in period. I bought the non-patent version, so no scuffs or cracking issues. A great investment in quality and versatility.

These shoes are wonderful. I have the red and they are beautiful and versatile. I have worn them with skirts and jeans. I love them and I am going to buy another pair in a different color.

Ok-not the best pair of Borns I own -
I am a working mom, who works over 8 hours a day with a toddler. So I need a comfortable shoe to get everything done. With that said, I didn't like these too much. I couldn't even wear these for a full day; they weren't staying on my feet, even though I put the cushions in the back heel. They could have been a tad bit large, but if I went any smaller they wouldn't have fit me. Such a shame, b/c I have another paid of Borns that I love. Which is why I bought my husband and daughter Born shoes over the last year! If I could do it over I would have bought a Frye flat. I know those fit, are comfortable and I would wear them into the ground!

Nice little basic flat. Hope it stretches a bit.
Just received today and it is a nice little casual flat. When I tried it on the first time, it seemed a little tight and I was going to return the pair. Then, I tried again later in the day and I thought the fit was better. Go figure. I am keeping them. I think it will stretch a bit because, to me it is a little tight in the front. I wear a 10 B or C depending on the shoe. They have some nice arch support and padding, so if they stretch a bit, they will be a winner. I have bunions on both big toe joints. The shoe is cut lower than the bump.

Cute AND comfortable!
I've been looking for months for a stylish, but comfortable shoe that I can wear to work or when walking around the city. I'm usually a fan of pointy-toe flats, but knew I had to give those up, but wasn't ready to give into that clunky, chunky, ugly "comfort shoe" look. I finally found the PERFECT marriage of comfort and style in this Born shoe. I absolutely love sleek and elegant shapes and the patent leather makes it more exciting. My only complaint is that the heel is a bit stiff, but I wore them a few times with a pair of socks and they're broken in now.

I bought these shoes because they're gorgeous, but the patent leather did not do so well. After the first day I wore them, it had cracks all over, especially around the stitching and had to return them.

Perfect Ballet Flat -
Exactly what I was looking for. No bows and ARCH support. I love these. They run true to size and are perfect for a medium to wide foot. Love them.

I purchased this style in the Tobacco Patent and it is so adorable in person. A great, versatile color for the warmer temps I am anxiously waiting to arrive! I wear a size 11 and always find a true fit with Born. The padded insole should provide both support and comfort (another given I find with Born shoes). Though they are patent, I find them more on the sassy casual side than a dressy shoe - though the color I selected may lend itself to that opinion. In black or another deeper color, I would imagine they would be more dressy.

Great once they're broken in -
These are great for nice looking flats, but the patent leather is a little hard to break in at first. I have not been able to wear them without hose/socks of some kind without getting small blisters. Get a half size small - tight at first, but will stretch to fit just right.

Born Starling (Patent Leather)
Born Starling is exactly what I was looking for, a ballet flat without the bow ribbon on the front. The comfort level received 4 stars because the leather at the heels are not as soft as I imagined it to be, but it is bearable. The footbed has a lot of support, which is really important. That is one of the reasons Born is a good brand.
I also ordered the black leather Born flats and for some reason, the right shoe footbed has air-bubbles in them. I've returned those.
Overall, Born produces comfortable shoes with great support. Enjoy!

Classic and attractive. More sophisticated than the average "ballet" style, this shoe is supple and conforms to the shape of your foot. Great with dress socks or bare feet, though it may take a few wearings for this shoe to be completely comfortable for someone with a slightly wide foot.

I loved the look, comfort, and fit of this shoe. It has the typical comfort Born is know for plus it is stylish. This is a great shoe for someone who wants a ballerina flat but is looking for more support and a more substantial sole.

Stiff in the heel -
These are absolutely beautiful, I purchased the green, but the heel is so stiff. I added heel cushions and will need to wear them for short periods until they soften.

Comfortable but the patent leather cracked -
Cute shoes and very comfortable, but they started cracking after only wearing them once. Zappos replaced them for a new pair, but the same thing happened. Too bad because they were comfortable!

Mainly, I was looking for a new red shoe. The Born Starling is terrific. It is the most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn, plus the red color is wonderful; I love all Born shoes.

I bought these before a trip to Japan and they were perfect. Comfortable, correctly sized, and easy to take on and off in Japanese restaurants. Good value in a comfortable shoe. Not very dressy, but adequately professional to wear gracefully with a skirt and tights.

I have several pair of Born shoes and love them, so I knew what I was getting. This flat is great because the sole is just thick enough, so it doesn't feel as though you are barefoot!
