Looks great but not worth it!
These shoes looked great on the website and looked even better when I took them out of the box! My son immediately tried one on and the little metal holder for the laces at the top of the shoes popped out. The other shoe had a big glob of glue stuck to it. I didn't even try to get that thing off!! My son never even got a chance to wear them out of the house before they were back in the box and sent back!! Lousy construction but what did I expect for the price.

The shoes are great, but are better for wider feet.

Mediocre Boot -
Boot is larger and wider than marked. Shoelaces are falling apart and one of the shoe’s foot pad came out which I had to glue back in. Shoe seems heavy by the way my son walks, but he says it's not. He likes the styling of the boot. We’ll see how it makes it through the winter.

Great shoe, lousy laces -
I ordered these in January '08 for my son to wear to school through the wet, cold winter months. They fit him and feel great and have done a wonderful job of keeping his feet warm and dry at school and play. The soles are rugged but flexible enough for climbing on play structures and the leather and fabric uppers scrub clean very easily when mud gets caked on. My only complaint is the laces - after just a month or so, they started to develop holes in the black/orange outer "sleeve" around the inner white cording. Now at less than 3 months of wear, one lace is completely destroyed with the white cording exposed on both ends with the black outer part all frayed and bunched up at the tips. The other shoe is halfway to the same problem. I can buy replacement laces, but they should have figured out that metal eyelet hooks would be too hard on such flimsy laces.

Every order I have placed with Zappos has been a good experience. Many times you upgrade the shipping on your own and I have the item overnight (as occurred with an order I placed yesterday - the item is out for delivery already!) I am in business and know that that is not something you have to do; so I just wanted to say thank you. It's little things like that that make a good service a great service.
