Keen is right!
Love these shoes. After reading other reviews I ordered a half size larger than normal and they are just s smidge big. I may be a quarter size foot as I suspect a smaller size would be too short. So they are not so big as to be an issue, just a little bigger than I ordinarily wear. They are also wider than most M widths which for me is great, I have a wide ball, medium heel. They are, comfortable, cute, cute, love the color-green. They are definitely more substantial than the other hiking sandal I have from a different maker. They should be just great on a long hike.

A good shoe, but not as comfortable as my other Keens.
I walk my dog along a gravel path, and although I love Keens for just about everything else, they tend to collect gravel inside. The gravel gets in, it can't get out. I keep having to take my shoes off to empty them. I was hopping that the "holes" in the Arroyo were small enough and far enough from the ground that I wouldn't have the gravel problem, but no, it still gets in there. Also, these Keens feel kind of loose in the heel - ever so slightly floppy; my other Keens in the same size feel snugger. Overall though, the Arroyo is pretty comfortable, and I wear them a lot.

Great utility shoe - These shoes are great for just about any activity where you would want casual comfort, from shopping to hiking and everything in between. They run a little wide, which is why they fit me so well. My only complaint is that my feet do sweat in these as previous posts have mentioned.

Love this shoe! We recently went on a week long 4x4/hiking trip in Moab and these shoes were perfect!
Great fit and comfort for all day wearability!
Ordered a 1/2 size larger and fit perfectly.

This shoe looks and feels great! I like it because your foot can breathe. If you have foot problems like I do and are stuck with these kinds of shoes then this one’s for you! I got the concord color and it is great, goes with everything.

Love it! Great for heel pain. Great shoe, I now have two pairs. Gets a little stinky when barefoot but it’s easily washable. Comfy even with socks, if you don't mind the geek factor. Never want to take them off. I even work out in them. I do not have to wear orthotics for my plantar fasciitis in these shoes! That is awesome!!!

Fantastic shoes! I first had to look at them because they were unusually ugly. I ordered them because of that same reason plus the good reviews. I hardly keep shoes in which I cannot run as well. In these you could run but it would not be the best choice. Anyway, I would not dream of letting these shoes out of my hands (read: feet) except for when I'm running. I consider them the healthiest shoes ever!

Great Sandals!
If you like to hike in sandals, then these Arroyos are the ticket. They have a higher arch than the Newports and a removable insert that is very comfortable. The high back seems to keep the small bits of gravel from getting inside the shoe. I just got these last month and have hiked quite a few miles in them. So far they are great. The only negative I have noticed is my feet tend to sweat more in the Arroyos than in my Newports.

Yet another great Keen purchase!
I have really bad tendonitis in my left foot and have had a heck of a time finding shoes that did not kill my feet, but ever since I was introduced to Keens, I have been one happy customer! The Arroyos were my 5th pair of Keens and again I love them! I needed a sandal-like shoe for the summer weather that I could fit my orthotics in and these have worked great. The only complaint I have is the black toe protector part is slightly bigger on one shoe than the other (a slight manufacturing defect I am sure), but you only notice it if you look closely at the shoe. What counts is that they look decent and are great for being active in the warmer months and for this chronic foot pain sufferer, that is a wonderful thing! I just love Keens and will keep buying them!

I really wanted to like this shoe as I live in my Keen Venice sandals. I was excited when I got them because the look and features were just as I expected. Unfortunately like several other reviewers, I found the heel to be too loose and to slide around immediately upon putting them on no matter how much I tightened them. I chose to return them.

This shoe is wonderful. I ordered an 8 1/2, which I received. Normally, I wear an 8. This shoe is very big and my foot has too much room. I am afraid to walk in them.

Great sandal that fits my thick orthotics. Excellent arch support. Waterproof too! Just a little clunky looking. Would like to find some open toe sandals that take orthotics.

Very comfortable!
I've worn a few different styles of Keens, and decided to order these and after wearing a pair of Venice H2 sandals over 50% of the time for the past 18 months. I also got some Newport H2s.
For me, the soles are one way to tell the difference between shoes and between different models of Keens as well. I really appreciate the ability to see the soles on Zappos.com for that reason.
These shoes feel sturdier than the two H2 models, as their soles might suggest. They hug my feet better and the arch support feels better. On the other hand, I think they may tend to be a bit stinkier because of the leather. It's a little early to tell about that, though.
These aren't really different enough from the H2 models to justify having both. If I'd tried them on in a store I might have only gotten these. They do have ventilation and should be good for summer. The H2s on the other hand are good if you plan to camp by water or wear them to the beach. (I'm going to keep both.)
Anyway, I recommend these shoes for any kind of casual use. I'll wear them to work and on weekends.

Great outdoor activity shoe -
I bought this shoe as a walking shoe for rural roads. It works well and helps reduce shin fatigue. My only problem is keeping the laces as tight as I like them. Otherwise, excellent choice.

This shoe is stylish as well as functional. It's nice because you can wear it with pants or shorts and it supports your foot all day long. I have a slightly wider foot and it was spot on for size.

Right out of the box... and on my feet! My wide Hobbit toes are perfectly happy in these shoes (as well as in my 4 other pairs of Keens), but the arch support really makes these shoes stand out. The best in any Keens I've ever worn. They do seem a tad bit longer, but not enough to switch to a smaller size. The color was a little disappointing - I thought Concord would be kinda grape-ish, but it turns out to be a very nice brown. Love Keens and love Zappos! Life is good.

I love this shoe! Comfortable, supportive, cute, and allows your feet to breath for the warmer months! I own several pairs of Keens and I have got to say after 20 years of foot pain due to plantar fasciitis and heel spurs, I am finally able to be on my feet for many hours in these shoes with no foot pain. I have custom orthotics and my orthotics do cause some heel slipping in my shoes, that being said I have opted to deal with the heel slipping because that is by far easier to deal with than the amount of foot pain I have experienced wearing other brands of shoes. After 20 years of foot pain and thousands of dollars spent on shoes that I ultimately couldn't wear, I can finally say I can walk again and have a better quality of life due to these shoes. Other sufferers will know what I am talking about here. In regards to sizing, I always go one half size up than I normally have worn in other shoes and that seems to work best for me, but may not ring true for everyone. The customer service Zappos offers is second to none.

I love these!
I got these super fast from Zappos! I stand up all day at work and was afraid I was having leg blood clots. It was just bad leg pain from standing in bad shoes. After working all day in the arroyos, my feet did not ache as usual and the leg pain was 80% better. I could even ride my bike again the next day. I haven't worn these without socks yet, but they fit me (am 8 1/2-9 size) just fine, even with bulky Smartwools on. Maybe they don't flop because they are snug, but I love these shoes. I wasn't too sure about the side openings mixed with rain and such, but for the comfort, price, and cute looks, I overlooked it and I'm glad I did! Side note: at this time, Zappos seems to be out of many styles, sizes, and colors of Keens which disappointed me. I spent over an hour trying to find a combination of shoe/look/price that I liked, but otherwise stellar shopping experience!

I must be Cinderella, the shoe fits! The Arroyo is remarkably similar to the Taos - which I purchased last year. They look dork-ish on my size 11, skinny flat feet, but they're the only shoes that don't aggravate my sore Achilles tendon on my daily walks. The heel does slip, but since I always wear socks, it's not an issue. The insoles are replaced with my personal favorites (Spenco's Dayhiker) and I'm ready to mosey.

Good, but sweaty -
I wanted a versatile shoe I could travel with - for hiking and trekking from town to town. What I got proved even MORE versatile since I have tried (successfully) to JOG in them. No, I won't run marathons in them, but when you're traveling and space is at a premium, this baby will do the job for a 3-4 mile run/walk. I was pleasantly surprised. To jog, you'll need to wear socks and really tighten the lace so the heel doesn't lift so much, but it is definitely do-able. Without socks, feet get sweaty (though not smelly) after a full day of any activity, but that happens with other Keens I've had as well.

Best Keens Yet!!!
This is my fourth pair of Keens and I am really enjoying this shoe. It has enough support to hike in and makes my feet feel secure on bumpy trails. It runs a little narrower than some of the others, which is a plus for me. It has quickly replaced my white leather walking shoes for just all around everyday casual wear.

Good soles -
The shoe is great except for two things. The heel slips even with extra pads. The other is pressure on the side of the foot below the little toes even with multiple adjustments, like socks verses no socks. Was disappointed because the bottoms of your feet are so happy with this style.

I am a new Keen customer and just love my new Arroyo IIs because they are airy like a sandal, but rugged like a trail shoe. Normally, I wear orthotics for walking but don't need them when I wear these shoes. Great fit and I love the color combination as well.
