Waterlogged - Arroyo II is really a great comfort shoe. Fits good, and can wear all day. However, had read before that some had problem with them drying after washing. I agree. One shoe was air dry within 8 hours; other is still very wet after over 24 hours!

Consistently good shoe - Bought these for my husband. Keens are about all he wears. Not only is he a teacher and a coach (always on his feet), he exercises daily and, although young, had a hip replacement several years ago so he needs good supportive footwear. He has not been disappointed with any style of his Keens.

I am a big fan of all things Keen (I own about 8 or 9 pairs in different styles). However, these Arroyo II\'s are still not the most comfortable Keens I\'ve owned. My little toe gets caught in one of the side vents, and the back hurts my heel. Still has the same great Keen cushioning, but just overall not my favorite Keen.

Fantastic sandals for light hiking and walking. They give incredible support, with the soles being stiff enough to walk over rocks comfortably. They're not super-stable on the foot, so they can roll a little and feet can slide forward on steep downhills, but with no discomfort. I did plenty of hiking in the rain with these during a week in Ireland. My feet stayed surprisingly dry despite the large openings. When they did get wet (with thin wool socks), they dried much faster than they would in closed shoes. Keen's web site says that they run a little small but in my case my usual size gave the best fit with thin socks or barefoot. At first, they were easy to over-tighten. As soon as they broke in, which was quick, possibly quicker from getting wet, they were great.

You can use these for your own orthodics. Best of both worlds; comfy hot weather sandal with your own support. I wear them right up to the November freeze.

Great shoe, but horribly stinky!
This shoe fits well, wears well, and is pretty durable. However, after a couple months, the insole began to smell horrible. It's the only shoe I have ever owned that smelled bad at all, and the smell is awful.

this is my second pair of Keens. I bought a closed pair in the fall for outdoor use and loved them, when spring came I had to try these and am sold on them as well. They always feel a little tight at first but break in fast and nicely.

Bungee cords not good - former, non-elastic laces better -
I have five pairs of Keens and have not worn any other shoes in years but all of the new Keen sandals have bungee cord laces and they do not support my foot nearly as well as the previous non-elastic laces. I have tried many times to get replacement laces but have had no luck with contacting Keens. Because the laces are continuous with plastic "brakes" I cannot find them anywhere. Will have to find a different brand of shoes. Very disappointed. This new lace has really affected the comfort of the shoe for me.

Summertime Favorite -
This is my second pair of Arroyo II. In the summer I wear them every day and all day. I literally walked through my first pair. I love having a pair shoes with such great support and comfort that I toss into the washer at least once a week. No matter how dirty and smelly they get, they look and smell great after a trip through the spin cycle.

Third Pair of Keens -
These Arroyo II's are the third pair of Keens I've purchased. I used to be satisfied with buying what was ever on sale at the store... But since I'm hard on shoes... They didn't last... I figured I'd try the Keen water shoes (first) since they had the toe guard (I do a lot of camping/canoeing). And I was hooked... Quality, Rugged and I still have my first pair (05). I recommend Keens and Zappos (great experience).

Great Hybrid Shoe -
I have been wearing Keen's for years and have been trying to get my husband to convert. I bought him this pair for his birthday because he doesn't like sandals or sneakers. He loves these and admits they are extremely comfortable and versatile.

I ordered these for a cruise and love them. I have a VERY wide foot and these were comfortable with and without socks.

On the recommendation of two friends, I bought the Arroyo II. Found them to be quite comfortable for a long day of walking, although lacking in arch support.

Bought this for my teen aged son for a river rafting/ hiking trip. He loved the shoe and still wears it every day. It’s very comfortable and handles summer hiking and water well. It’s also good around town. Only problem was the sole separated from the main shoe on the first pair, but Zappos sent a replacement of the identical shoes the next day. Strongly recommend this shoe for summer hiking.

I'm a caddie. I walk over 1000 miles in 6 months around a golf course with 20-45 lbs on my back. I couldn't do what I do without these shoes. Before these, I bought the Taos model, which is hard to find these days. I can't tell the difference between the Taos and the Arroyo II. I want to ask Keen to bring back the stretchy laces. They really help the fit. I have no idea why, but these shoes are warm in cold weather. Go figure.
Finally, I tried to buy some Taos off of another website. I'm certain they were a knock off. The support was hard and didn't form to my foot like all the other pairs (6 to date).
When it rains I use waterproof socks. When it is hot, I go sockless. My feet are striped, but my knees and back are good.

Great hybrid shoe!
A very comfortable shoe sandal hybrid. I purchased these because I wear orthotics and love sandals in the warm months. I originally purchased them a half size larger (11) than I would normally wear (10.5) thinking that they would be larger as is the case with most Keens. Turns out they were what seemed like a whole size if not a little more larger than I normally wear. I returned theme for a 10.5 and all is fine. They also seem to run a little narrower than my Newport sandals and trail shoe. But the soft leather really hugs my feet nicely for an excellent fit. It also turns out that the supplied insert actually feels as good as or better than my orthotics. They have a deep lug sole that might imply trail use. But for me there would not be enough lateral support for any serious off trail hiking. I am a big guy and need good side support when walking on inclines or climbing. They can be worn comfortably with or without socks. The pull strap on one shoe started tearing away a few days ago. I called yesterday about this problem and I will be receiving a replacement pair today at no cost to me. Can't beat that kind of service.

Happy summer feet -
After virtually living in the KEEN Taos all of last summer, I purchased the Arroyo for this year. The shoe has outstanding comfort and arch support. My family and I just returned from a week at Disney, and we wore our Keens all week. Our feet felt great at the end of every day. The only negative thing I can say about the shoes is that they do get a bit odoriferous after extended daily wear. I have washed them in the past, and they wash fine. It does take a bit of effort to keep them odor free. This may not be the fault of the shoe, but rather a function of not wearing any socks with them. Anyway, I highly recommend this shoe.

I have been looking for a long time for a sandal that is comfortable for walking and hiking and easy to slip in and out. This sandal is very comfortable and I can walk for miles in it. I highly recommend it.

Comfortable but stinky -
These are very comfortable shoes, but they do make my feet sweat and there is serious foot funk when I take them off. These are the only sandals I own that have this effect on me. Born, Reefs, my Byte golf shoes have never made my feet stinky like these do. Other than that, I love them and wear them all the time.

Just ordered my 2nd pair -
I just ordered my 2nd pair. I was a little disappointed that my first pair only lasted 9 months - the heel started wearing down so much that I started walking in a incorrect fashion. I called Keen who said they would honor their 1 year guarantee and return them to Zappos ... but I didn’t do it. I'm a big guy (240 lbs)and put a LOT and I mean a LOT of miles, in lots of conditions (running, hiking, work, wind surfing, sailing) on those shoes and am pleased they lasted that long.
The only thing I don’t like ... and its not the shoe fault… is shoe stink ... if you go sockless and sweat a lot, you have to wash them pretty often. I dry them in the sun and all is fine.

I have arch and back problems! This is my second pair of Keen shoes and these are better than the first (didn’t think it was possible). They help my back and my arches beyond belief… if you never believed in magic, try these! You will!

Blisters -
I REALLY want to like these shoes. I LOVE the way they look, and they are extremely comfortable, but I can't get my Achilles used to the back part of the shoe. I get blisters/cuts right above my heel every time I wear them for an extended period. Now, I just wear them to walk the dog outside. When it's cold I wear them with socks, and have no issues (but I think they look weird with socks).
Also, the bungee lacing system is not very secure. I had to replace the lacing system on one shoe after the first day, and Keen sent me new laces free of charge. The laces still aren't all that secure.
The shoe is top notch as far as quality and build. I will give Keen another try when I see a model that I need/interests me.
Also, on a side note, I ordered my wife the exact same pair, and she wears them ALL THE TIME with no issues.

I found your site through my daughter and found a pair of what I thought would be good work shoes. I saved my tips and months later made the order. I was ambivalent about spending so much money on SHOES but decided to just do it! They arrived yesterday morning! I wore them last night for the first time forgetting to bring a back up pair in case they hurt (new shoes and all). Well, I'm just sooooo happy to say that I LOVE them! My feet were just fine – ALL NIGHT! They were like wearing slippers w/ arch support. This morning I put my poor old tired out work shoes in the trash with no regrets! Your staff was SO kind and helpful over the phone and the promptness of delivery was amazing! Thank you so much!
