I've had different & popular brands of hiking boots. I went through the fitting where I purchased the boots. Every time I went hiking I never came home without a blister. After months of research & near purchase of another brand, I came across the Zamberlan at Zappos while searching for another pair of shoes. Because of Zappos excellent service I couldn't lose. I have worn these shoes snow shoe hiking in the Sierra's & a 13 mile hike approximately 7 miles cross country on Tejon Ranch. We went through some pretty tough terrain & I didn't have the slips I have experienced in my previous hiking boots. My feet felt wonderful. This is nothing like I have ever experienced. Absolutely, no blisters or hot spots. The next day I was able to run my Sunday morning 4 miles. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Comfortable right out of the box!
This is my 4th pair of Zamberlans (field shoes like the Java )& have been very happy with all of them. I needed a boot that was waterproof & great traction - and didn't want to have a long break in period. The Quazar is serving me well.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Any trail/field shoes by Zambarlan out perform similar products by Merrell's

Awesome hiking boot!
I had never heard of the Italian-made Zamberlan hiking boot before. I tried them on at REI in Seattle when I was looking for another brand, and I found these superior to everything else. I hike 30-40 days in the Cascade Mountains of Washington each summer, and many hikes have 2400 feet of vertical or more. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break-in period. The sole is amazing and especially grippy on descents. No slips at all! Check out Zappos' side view of the sole of this shoe, and look at the angle of the rear sole, and you'll see why it digs in on descent. This boot also has excellent ankle support. Before I bought these boots, I had a severe ankle sprain in another boot, but after just two weeks, I was able to continue hiking with the ankle support in the Zamberlan. I am very happy to see that Zappos carries Zamberlan. With their free overnight shipping, free return shipping and superb customer service, you can't go wrong with Zappos! This hiking boot rocks!

 |  | I just wanted to say thank you for making my shopping experience a great one! I have a daughter who is very tall and she has large feet. It is hard to find her shoes and help to find them. Your company has all kinds of shoes in her size and style. You make shopping fun and easy for moms, especially with hard to please teens. Then I got my order so fast. I have been telling the other army wives about this site. We have so much on our minds the last thing we need is to worry about shopping for the kids! I thank you and it could not go without saying. For so often, customers complain but we must also say thanks when service is great! Before I found your site I had already ordered my daughter a pair of Softwalks from another company and they have given me the run around and the wrong size after I called them six times about the issue. She still does not have her shoes and I ordered them before I got the ones from your company. I should have looked at your site, you even have them cheaper. Now I don't know if she will have her shoes for chapel when school starts. She will have to wear the ones I got from your company, which are not chapel shoes. She goes to a private Christian school and they are strict about the rules. I can't afford to buy another pair, for the company has already charged my credit card. If the shoes do not get here soon, I will return them and be out of more money and get a pair from your company just because you have better service. I had to let you know you will be seeing me and many of my friends and family on your site. I have already told four friends today about my blessing with your company of fast and friendly service!
