I haven\'t had the shoes long, so I can\'t speak for durability, but I can say the sticky rubber is very good. The shoes have a nice feel to them- a good all-around climbing shoe. I would purchase them again. The sizing seemed a tad small- thus causing me to exchange my first pair for a size larger, but with Zappos, that is no problem at all. Killer customer service.

This is a great shoe. I just finished traveling around the world in these shoes, climbing in South Africa, Madagascar, India, and Thailand, and these shoes are great. Stand up to heat, humidity, and all kinds of rock and angles. Great shoes.

I started wearing this shoe 3 years ago and now I wear nothing else. It is the best all round climbing shoe I have ever worn. I use it on everything from steep climbs to slabs. It fits my foot perfect and the sizing is very consistent.

This shoe was so wildly mis-sized (I wear street shoe 8.5 and ended up with a 10.5, yet rock climbing shoes you normally order at least a half size smaller) that I had to order and send back 4 pairs before the fifth was finally acceptable. I've only climbed with it a few times but so far, I like it a lot.

Flash - great beginner shoe -
This shoe feels a size smaller than listed. I bought them a year ago when I first started climbing. I climb regularly at the gym and outdoors, every other day at gym and maybe every other weekend outdoors on limestone and granite. These shoes just now are totaled which is amazing considering a years worth of wear and tear. Horrible smell though.

Good shoe -
Nice shoe...fit is about right for a climbing shoe. Feels maybe a 1/2 size small. Good rubber, particularly high grip, although it wears a little faster than 5 10 stealth, for example. Stretches over time, since it is leather. Good shoe for all around climbing-bouldering as well as multi-pitch (Velcro may not be the best for crack climbing though).

Not very durable -
The rubber sole on this shoe is sticky, but not very durable. I bought them five months ago, and there is already a hole in the toe of the shoe. I used them 2-4 hours/week in gym climbing.
I'd recommend finding a shoe with a more durable sole.

Mad Rock's Flash -
PRICEWISE, these shoes are awesome. I went a size down from my street shoes. It was a very tight fit, however, after a week of climbing they fit perfect and I don't think it needs any improvement.
It's not been about a month and they are holding very strong. I climb 5 days a week, and like any shoes they will always need to be resoled.

Good "next" shoe -
A comfort beginner shoe if fit loose, a very high performance and affordable shoe if fit tight. I fit them with my street shoe size 9.5 and was painfully tight, you should know they will stretch and that is probably the fit you should have. The rubber is very sticky at the cost of durability. I am loving these right now and several people have reviewed at other sites that a resole job will bring them back to life with more durable rubber. Some have complained that the Velcro wears out, go to a local cobbler they will fix...been doing this on cycling shoes for years.

The Flash -
So far this has been a fine shoe. It broke in quickly, was comfy out of the box, and climbs great - the rubber seems to be super sticky. Although I can say that the downside of this is that it may wear down quickly, which I hear is a common problem for the shoe. I've only had them for about a month now, so I can't speak to this, but for 70 bucks they seem worth the risk. I wear size 11 street shoes, bought a 10.5. They are comfortable for all day wear like this and still provide fine performance (Ive been doing 5.10+). The toe box is a bit loose. For greater performance fit, go a full size smaller. The shoes do stretch. If they hold up well, Ill certainly buy them again.

Great shoe at a great price!
I read that these shoes usually run true to your normal shoe size, and I feel this is correct. I usually wear 10.5-11 men's and got both sizes. The 10.5 was too tight, but the size 11 shoes were snug. Keep in mind they usually stretch out a little with use and should be quite snug (but not painful) the first time you try them on. These shoes were rated a best buy by Climbing Magazine.

 | | I want to tell you a story. I was born with two club feet and while I have done my share of dancing, hiking, and generally having fun with feet that work okay, the many operations left them rather unpretty, a little misshapen and definitely wider/shorter than most feet in proportion to the carrying bodies. Finding shoes that fit and are comfortable is a rarity for me. I search through stores regularly, more often than not
leaving empty handed. I took a chance with Zappos. There were some excellent deals and the size claimed to be what I might need. A box arrived. It said "Packed with Happiness." Inside was my order 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. They not only all fit, they all fit amazingly well. The box may very well have been packed with happiness, but let me tell you, not as much happiness as it was opened with!!! Thank you oh so much. You can't imagine what this is for me. With Special Thanks, Walking on Air, Cathie G.
