Versatile, Comfortable, Attractive Shoe -
My Ara Portland’s are so comfy, straight out of the box ...wore them to work. They looked great with my business casual chinos, as well as with my weekend jeans.
I chose the beautiful Mocca Croco, a rich chocolate brown. Stunning!
The leather is wonderfully soft. To maintain the shoe's shape, insert a pair of shoe trees in them after each wearing ...a good practice for all leather footwear. Add a dab of polish, and your shoes will always look fresh and new.
Zappos upgraded my shipping, so they arrived Monday, even though the order was placed Friday afternoon ...nothin' but LOVE for the ZAPPOS TEAM!

These shoes are wonderfully made and very handsome. The lining is delicious soft leather, the upper is rich in color and texture, and the bed is nicely padded. Unfortunately I had to return it because it is just too wide, even with my bunion.

These loafers are sized 1/2 size larger, than marked. They are otherwise most comfortable. Light arch support; which is fine for summer. Good with slacks, skirts, and w/e shoes.

Yay! Another color of a favorite shoe!
I've had the ara Portland in black for two years now and have been wearing the daylights out of them, not that they look like it-- this is one durable shoe. It's great with pants suits, dresses up jeans, and I can walk in it forever and the fit is perfect. And I finally found a second color (the tortoise brown) in my size!!! This shoe seems a little pricey, but it's a complete winner.

Extremely comfortable, great value for the money!
I was introduced to Ara in Germany when I lived there, and have worn this brand for decades. I still have a pair of Ara loafers that I bought in 2000 for about $79! Those were the days, I'm afraid. Prices may go up, but Ara quality stays the same year after year. I could wear these shoes 24/7 and they go with about any outfit. Thanks, Zappos, for featuring this great brand!

Great Style with Comfort to Boot!
I recently bought this shoe and absolutely love it! I bought it specifically to use as a "walking around town comfortably without looking like I just left the gym" shoe, and that's just what I got. It is very comfortable and also very stylish. One caveat, however, is the sizing. I find that whenever I order a European made shoe, I end up with the wrong size, either too large or too small. I always end up buying it in multiple sizes until I find the right one and then send the wrong sizes back. This time I ended up with a smaller than usual size, but had to add a foam insole b/c the shoe was too roomy from top to bottom (height, not width). This, of course, only adds to the comfort level I was looking for, but I feel the shoe would have been very comfy without the insole had it been the right height. Regardless, I love this shoe and recommend it.

I Love these shoes!
I first tried Ara shoes on at a local store and didn't buy them...for no particular reason. I then went home and obsessed over them and tried to figure out why I hadn't bought them. I went on Zappos, found them and they arrived the next day. They are my everyday black shoes and I love them. They are the most comfortable shoes ever. In fact, I check back all the time to see what other Ara shoes are available to add to my collection. Well worth the price. Really, they are my most comfortable, looks good with everything shoes.

This shoe caught my eye because it was a classic loafer, yet had real style. The first pair I bought was too big, so I had to go down one size to get a perfect fit. They are very comfortable, although I feel that the insole at first was very cushiony and supportive, but after a few wearings, it seems a little less so. I walk a lot for my job and may need to add insoles that are thicker, but for everyday wear, these are perfect. I get lots of compliments on these and you will too.

Super comfy -
I got these tonight and slipped them on after trying my Geox's that I love (just bought 3 pair) these are even more comfortable - felt like I didn't have anything on and offers a better stability of the sole than my Geox (if you've never worn them the sole is shaped a little different so that it feels like you can rock from side to side). Haven't worn any extended time yet so I am a little concerned as some of the comments say they stretch - they feel perfect now so if they do stretch they will be too big, but I'd rather have them too big than too small. Have never tried this brand before but just ordered a 2nd pair as I can tell they are definite keepers. I got the brown croco and they are definitely shiny/flashy - hopefully not too much.

This shoe was so comfortable from day one; no break-in period. They run large, so I did have to go one size down (even with orthotics!). They are classy and dressy with such a wonderful feel when walking. I highly recommend this shoe for folks who have hurting feet and/or wear orthotics. You'll be glad you bought these.

Love these! They do run big and wide (which was great for me because I have wide feet, but I had to send the first pair back and exchange for a 1/2 size smaller). They are really unique looking and versatile. I love them with jeans and some argyle socks!

Exactly what I needed -- something nice I could wear all day in a classroom. I don't feel like I'm dressing down in order to be comfortable -- they're beautiful. Yet it feels like I'm wearing slippers -- I can concentrate on my job instead of my aching feet since these are so comfortable!

I loved these shoes so much I bought a second pair in another color. After wearing out in the world only one time they had stretched so much in the width that I had to return them both. I'm so disappointed because they were ultra comfortable. If you have a wider foot I think they would be better for you. Otherwise, great quality and look. Not good arch support.

Most comfy shoes ever!
These shoes are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They run a tad large - I would get a 1/2 size smaller than your normal shoe size. And despite the comfort level, they are SO trendy too! Every color is gorgeous, I ordered all colors and decided to keep the black, but may order a second color soon.

No break-in time needed!
When I ordered this shoe several weeks ago, it was my first time ordering from Zappos. I couldn't believe it when the shoes can the next day! They are just as represented: good looking and extremely comfortable. I wore them to tour Boston and walked all day with no problems. I found them to be true to size.

Croc Loafers -
The shoes were comfortable right out of the box and I love the patent croc. They seem to run a half size larger so I ordered a smaller size and that was perfect. Am planning to use them as my walking shoes in Italy since the rubber sole should be good for the cobblestone streets and style-wise they work with jeans as well as casual evening outfits.
