Built for comfort AND for speed!
These boots are, as others have said, a little darker than they appear in the photo - think "brown bomber jacket" color. I just got them, so haven't worn them for any length of time yet, but they immediately feel super comfortable, like they were made for my feet! Can't wait to spend more time in them. And Zappos had them on my doorstep literally 18 hours after I hit the order button - you cannot beat that!

I ordered this boot and it arrived the next day which was a nice surprise. However, the color was completely different from what was shown on the website. You call it distressed brown which looked to be a medium brown but it was actually very dark. I'm keeping the boot because I need it for the weekend but the photo should have more closely matched what I received. Very disappointing.

Ariat Heritage Western R-toe!
WOW! Ordered these on a Tues. at 4pm, had them Wed. at noon! Zappos’ service is 5 star! Now to the boots: great looking, comfortable, genuine. These boots will darken with use and age and only look and feel better and better. I ordered a 7C and they felt true to size. I have a very high instep and the ball of my foot is on the wider side. The first time I put them on, they felt a little snug across the arch area, but within an hour, they felt pretty good, but I will have to wear a thinner sock. Comfortable heel height, understated and genuine working cowgirl boots. I can ride, shop, go to dinner, wear a skirt or jeans, and these boots will still look fantastic. A little lighter color than I like, but given time, they will develop a great patina. The first day I got them, I hosed them down with water and stain repellent and I anticipate these boots lasting a long, long time. You can't go wrong with Ariat and Zappos!

Great boots -
These boots are very comfortable. I did end up exchanging the 8B for an 8C because I needed a little more room in the left instep. Suggest spraying them with water repellent as they are suede. Zappos customer service was outstanding. I found these boots for a lower price and they handled the credit efficiently and gracefully. Size exchange was a breeze too.

Ariat boots -
I got this boot because it was listed to have a removable insole and I wear orthotics. The insole is indeed removable, but I think it's going to take longer than I'd expected to wear the leather out correctly in order to make the orthotic fit right. It's a really pretty boot with a nice design. It's for show for me, I don't ride many horses, but I think it will be a good pair for jeans or skirts. If you wear orthotics...maybe cowboy boots are not the ideal choice for you unless you're willing to really break them in. Also, as with any good leather shoe, it does take a little time to break in the leather enough on the top of the foot to get your foot in comfortably. Once it's in, though, the boot is very comfortable.

Most comfortable cowboy boot ever!
I've worn Justin, Dan Post, Tony Llama, and Lucchese. Those are all good boots, but since getting these Ariats about 8 years ago they are the only boots I'll ever buy or wear. I live on a farm in cowboy country where many folks wear western boots, and I can wear these all day, even while working outside and doing lots of walking. They also hold up very well and take a lot of abuse. Mine look a little beat up, but that's OK, they look like "working" boots, which they are.
I've since bought a few other pair of Ariats, for "dress-up" and they are all this Heritage style.

These are amazingly comfortable, and lots of fun. They were a little tight across the top of the instep at first, but quickly loosened up. I've received many compliments on them. I also bought them in black, and walked for miles in a city with them.

I'm an old cowhand now.
I'm old and getting shorter, as old ladies do, so I thought I'd get cowboy boots and gain back the 2" I've lost. These boots are a perfect disguise. I also discover I can get through the shoes-off nonsense at the airport more easily with boots than with shoes! They are OK for walking medium distances, and terrific for party attire. With faded jeans and a jean jacket I feel dressed for any event. I got compliments on them. My granddaughter thinks they're great!

Like coming home -
Years ago my husband and I had a country band. We only wore boots and jeans. In the early 80's we began writing other styles of music and had to change the way we dressed. We just retired and the first thing I bought was these boots. They felt great out of the box and are just as comfy as I remember. Sharp looking too, great for every day and I'd proudly wear them onstage.

IMHO: The Best Boot -
I have never been dissatisfied with Ariat shoes and boots. I have two pairs of Heritage boots and several pairs of Ariat shoes. They are among the few kinds of shoes that I can wear all day at my retail job. With care, they also hold up very well. One of the pairs of boots is 10 years old and they still look wonderful. (I always spray my Ariats with protective spray and I try not to wear them in inclement weather.) I've looked at Frye boots, which seem to be very popular now, and I always choose Ariat--comparatively, I think that they are a good buy. Good quality for a decent price--what more can you want?

I've always wanted cowboy boots and I was so happy to get these. I have other styles of Ariat shoes and they are so comfortable. These are comfortable also. They look good with jeans and with long skirts. Love them!

These boots are so comfortable! I’ve never been able to wear a boot for long periods of time before they're really broken in until these! They look awesome, especially once they start getting worn-looking. I’ve gotten lots of compliments already!

I have been looking for a nice comfy boot all year....This is it....I have a high arch and a wide foot and these boots are so incredibly comfy. Even the first time on they are amazing! Feel like you have had them forever. This is a boot you can wear with just about anything! My husband even loves these boots on. I ordered my regular size but in c width, felt like they were made for my foot. Don't pass them up........I love pretty boots and shoes but comfort is a first anymore.

I've been looking for a comfortable pair of cowboy boots and, after reading the reviews, decided on these. Following reviewers' advice, I ordered a half size smaller. I could barely get my feet into these boots (without socks!) and they pinched and squeezed the sides and tops of my feet. I only had them on for 30 minutes and my feet were aching. It took my husband a few minutes to pull them off for me (I couldn't). So bummed I have to send them back, but I think my feet are too wide/high arch for this brand. As usual, I ordered from Zappos.

Great Boots -
Loved these boots from the moment I received them. They were originally sent to another address (in another state), and customer service was great to work with to get them here. I have worn them all day 2 days this week and my feet & legs felt great. I wear a wide shoe size and they are very comfortable.

Best. Boot. Ever.
There are so many things I love about this boot. First, I'll second what the other reviewer said about this being a good boot for those with wide calves. I cannot wear boots that zip up the side so these are an excellent compromise and look cute with skirts. Second, the boots are extremely comfortable. The arch support is great and they felt broken-in the minute I tried them on. Third, this is an excellent color, very neutral and goes with virtually everything in my closet, except maybe hot pink. I have had Justin boots and vintage cowboy boots as well and these simply put them to shame.

Fabulous Boots - Highly Recommend -
This is a wonderful boot. Due to an injury when I was young, one of my legs is a bit larger, really only noticeable when I'm trying to find boots. This boot was a perfect fit the minute I put it on. I wore the boots all day the first day and continue to do so every day. I would highly recommend these to anyone. They look great with slacks or jeans. I normally wear an 8 in a shoe and 8 1/2 in boots. The reviews I read said to buy a 1/2 size smaller because they run a little big and they were right. I ordered an 8 and it fit great. The boot has the best arch support I have ever had in a boot. I only wish they came in more colors.... black, navy, etc. I'd own a pair of each!!!. Finally, the best thing is ordering from Zappos because the shipping and the return, if needed, are free. It's true, the return is free. I've used that service before for shoes. Zappos stands behind every purchase. Zappos is a first class operation. I've used their service many many times and it's been excellent each time.

Great boot for wide calves -
Love these boots. True to size (I wear a 7B in fashion shoes and ordered a 7B in the boots), extremely comfortable right out of the box (and I'm really fussy about comfort). Nice light brown with yellowish tones, rugged look, pretty stitching. I have wide calves and was very concerned about finding a boot that would fit, but these are much roomier at the top than I expected; I have no problem at all tucking my pants into the boots, with room to spare.

Great All Around Boot!
A really great fitting boot & very comfortable. I was a little anxious about ordering boots online due to the fact (at least with me) they always seem to fit differently, but no surprises here. Boot fits like a glove right out of the box. A little bit tough to get them on at first, but after a few tries they break in nicely. Have worn them riding and since they're so comfortable, I've been wearing them just about anywhere I'd go with a pair of jeans. Really happy with this purchase and highly recommend the boots to anyone who is considering purchasing the boots.

Fabulous, comfortable boots!!!
This was my first pair of ARIAT boots...and I did quite a bit of research before I decided on this brand. I had people tell me over and over that the quality and comfort were unbeatable! Well, I've got to agree!! I shopped around on the Internet...and actually found them a little less expensive...and ZAPPOS adjusted their price right at the time I ordered them - which was great!!
I usually wear a size 9 and having worn cowboy boots in the past... ordered an 8 1/2...and they fit perfectly. I was able to wear them all day and walk in them quite a bit...and they felt like I had worn them for years!! Comfortable right out of the box!!
I bought them for "fun" only...I love the way they look with jeans...and the boots are absolutely gorgeous. The stitching is so pretty, and the distressed brown goes with everything! The R-toe is extremely comfortable...still giving the look of a true cowboy boot...but without scrunching your toes together!
ZAPPOS was wonderful to deal with...extremely fast shipping, helpful customer service people and the ARIAT boots are FABULOUS!
