The shoes weren't what I expected, but they were nice nonetheless! The first time I wore them, they hurt the back of my top of my feet, but after that first time it did not. I think you have to wear thick ankle socks to stop it from hurting/get used to the pain. But it is fine now! They are an interesting pair of shoes and are unique! I received a couple of compliments.

Love these Vans. I have never worn Vans before, but now I love it. Very stylish with skinny jeans. I wear it at work, on leisure, everywhere. True that the size is bigger than your usual size. Size 7 feels like 7 1/2, but I will keep the 7 because I usually use an insole.

I bought these and I love them they are some of the most comfortable shoes I own... I bought the ones with slayer on them just to have some different shoes then everyone else.

My 14 year old son had to have these shoes. I feel that they are a little tighter in width than we expected, they don't seem to be very comfy for him, but he loves them anyway. They do look cool.
Also, kind of overpriced.
I love Zappos, though! Great service, fast shipping!

Love these shoes, they look awesome and feel great. The soles are VERY flat but if you're like me and are used to wearing flat-soled sneakers like Converse, it's not a big deal!

My son asked for these shoes for Christmas. He does like them even though he said he is having to get used to them since they are high tops. I actually love them because he is not running around with his shoes untied and flopping around. I like the looks too.

Vans Sk8-Hi KISS shoes -
Just received my KISS version of this style. They just may be the most awesome-looking pair of shoes I have ever owned!! I've been wearing classic-style Vans (slip-ons mostly) since Jr. High and wanted something different... these caught my eye for sure, being a KISS fan. I docked a star for comfort as the high-top style is uncomfortable at first, at least with the shape of my leg/ankle. I'm sure it will improve with time.

Vans Sk8-Hi Black/Gunmetal Checkered -
I haven't had a pair of Vans hi-tops in over 20 years, so I wanted to try them again. Comfort is average, but I seem to recall that hi-top portion (the upper 3 inches) used to be considerably thicker. Even still, a good shoe at a good price and it’s a super-classic!

I have been wearing these shoes since I was 15. I like them a lot I just wish there was a little more cushion in them like other athletic shoes.

Purchased for a high school student. This is her second pair and she loves them. She normally has achy feet and these are very comfortable for her. She gets compliments daily on them.

I mean what can I say, Vans rule! I have been wearing these shoes since I was a kid and they just keep getting better. While they provide little in the support department they do make up for it with aesthetics. They are a perfect addition to any outfit that will never go out of style.

I grew up wearing Vans back in the 80s and recently purchased a pair after more than 20 years. I know now why I stopped wearing them, they are uncomfortable if you have wide feet. They look awesome and are made well, but based on comfort or lack there of, this will definitely be the last pair I buy. Zappos Rocks though!

This shoe is unbeatable. It is comfortable and very stylish. When you're ordering sizes it is about a half size larger than what you put so be careful and get the right size.

Not just for skate - If you can believe this...I play basketball in these shoes once or twice a week. Might be the best shoe I have ever worn for hoops.

Cutie in pink!
These Vans are the cutest ones around, with the pale pink and the skull its sends the pinnacle message of girl=don’t tread on me! Super well built, rugged, great colors, and great graffixs. I put a pair of barbed wire laces in them and went to work- if those monkeys loved them, so should anyone!

Funky kicks!
Vans "Off the Wall" continues to produce products that live up to its name. The black and white makeup of these shoes gives an optical illusion quality which transforms just another shoe to an eye-catcher!

These shoes rock!
I ordered one of the Iron Maiden styles and was extremely satisfied with the overall appearance of the shoe. The original pair I was sent had what looked like red permanent marker smeared on the side, but Zappos sent me another pair and no complaints. These are sturdier than similar high-tops I have tried and like I said before; the Iron Maiden styles rock!

I got the all canvas ones. They are just as classic as the suede ones I had as a kid. I have put a new insole in them so they are great to skate in, and most of all, classic. Skate and destroy.

Great skate shoe! It’s been almost 18 years since I skated Vans Sk8-Hi Standards and I've been missing out! Grip is excellent, great board control, no stupid arch support which is great for my flat feet. The Iron Maiden graphics kick a** and they come in an awesome box. Buy these shoes if you skate or like Iron Maiden or both! Also, keep an eye out for the Jeff Grosso pro model shoe.
