This shoe is for you, Goldilocks, Just Order UP!
Definitely runs at least a half size small, but hugs your heel with out hitting the ankles and lets your toes run. On the trail, snapping out of turns without sacrificing stability is key and this shoe doesn't disappoint. The style is low profile enough to cycle with as well and so far the material has held up to everything I could put it through.

My Montrails saved my feet!
First I have to say that these are the cutest trail runners I have ever owned. I have the gray/sapphire ones and wear them on the pavement and on the trails. These are great shoes for people with foot problems. Ive always had low arches and then a couple of years ago I tore my Achilles tendon. I was experiencing a lot of foot pain if I didnt wear orthodics in my shoes and after I did 10+ minutes of walking. I wore my Montrails everyday for about 2 weeks before I noticed that I was no longer experiencing any pain. Im now able to walk and I even did a 1.5 hr hike without any foot pain. My podiatrist said the shoe is very stiff and that helps keep my foot from moving around. My only complaint is that they run a size too small so I had to wait for a bigger size to be delivered.

This shoe is a great shoe. It fits nice and snug in the heel yet has plenty of room in the toe box. It has great ankle support. I have arthritis and finding a good comfortable supportive shoe is not always easy but the Montrails work very well for me.

I ordered this shoe a size up like because of the other reviews. I am happy with the fit. It is a snug shoe, but its very comfortable and great for running, hiking or just walking. Fit great with very little "break in" time. Thanks Zappos and Montrail!

Wish these fit better.
This shoe definitely runs at least a half size small. It's also on the narrow side. Sorry to find all this out, because it's a great looking shoe. They had to be sent back.

Not wide or roomy enough -
In general, Montrail shoes are geared for wide feet. These were too narrow as well as not roomy enough in the toe box. After wearing them for a couple of hours in the house, my feet felt squashed and uncomfortable. Upon taking the shoes off, the balls of my feet were numb. And I ordered these shoes one half size larger than my other shoes. So, go figure. Fortunately, Zappos has a great return policy, so the buyer is fully protected from these kinds of surprises.

Great fit!
Fits like a glove. The arch and heel areas are nicely snug, with room at the toes. I had to reorder 1/2 a size larger (I have another pair of Montrail in a 7, and all of my other tennis shoes are in size 7, but I had to get a 7 1/2). A little heavier than my running shoes, but lighter than my hiking shoes. Along with the mid-way weight, the stability of the shoe likewise seems in between.

Very pleased -
This is my second pair of Montrails and I'm hooked. I love the feel and fit -- to me it seemed very true to size. I do mostly street running, but I love to hit trails when I have time and this is a great versatile shoe for both options. One note is that it is a slightly heavy shoe. I like the support and stability the weight supplies but people who dislike heavy shoes might be disappointed. I ordered this at 10 p.m. on Zappos and they arrived at my house before noon the next day. Great service!

Great stability and a hug for your feet!
Thanks to the online reviews and free shipping on returns, I ordered this shoe in two sizes and found it does run smaller than other Montrails I've had. This shoe is excellent for stability on the mountain trails I run on and deserves the awards it's won!

Not enough arch support -
I have serious overpronation and hefty orthotics. These shoes did not provide enough arch support for me. Looks like a good solid shoe for trail running. Just not enough arch support for me. I much prefer the Montrail Hardrock.

Too Bad For Me -
This shoe feels fabulous. Alas, I will never be able to write about its running virtues as I wear a size 11 - and have had numerous other Montrails in 11 - and this shoe is just a smidge short. I have been having the conversation that these will be okay but I know in my heart they have to go back in the box and back to Zappos. I have a narrow heel and this feels like a dream. I am so sad...

New Montrail style-tight -
I have been a long time wearer (three years) of the Montrail Hurricane Ridge shoe. I have run several ultra marathons of 50K to 40miles in length on rugged trails. Switching to the Continental Divide, I notice more flexibility and cushioning in the forefoot. However, the sizing was significantly different. After always wearing my Montrails in size 10, I find the Continental Divide in size 10 to feel almost a full size smaller. However, I couldn't detect this right out of the box, only after a long run and finding the shoe very tight and uncomfortable. Do consider sizing up. Also, the laces are designed to have lots of room to adjust the tightness, so you can size up and still feel they are snug. Additionally, the arches are somewhat high and the heels narrow which also keeps the fit snug even if you size up a bit.

Pleasure starting with the first wearing -
When I tried on these shoes, I was worried because I felt two little lumps pressing into the sides of my heels. As I began to move, my worry disappeared -- as did any sensation of wearing shoes. These shoes are a pleasure and very cute. I haven't been on walks of more than 4 miles at a time yet but I won't hesitate to wear them on more extended hikes. As for the fit, the width is utterly perfect for me. The length is just a hair shorter than I'd like (I'm usually a true size 8, and these shoes are an 8) but I've experienced no discomfort yet.

Great looking but very functional shoe -
I have heel spurs and knee problems. This shoe has very good support for the foot and heel and keeps my feet and legs in proper alignment. You know what I mean if you have orthopedic problems. It's very sturdy without being heavy or clunky looking. Very comfortable with Rx orthotics, the ankle is high enough so you don't slip out of them. Would be good support for a heavier walker.
