I recently purchased a pair of Birkenstock soft footbed sandals. The size chart at the website was right on. The sandals are well made and fit great. The website was easy to navigate and delivery was fast and error-free. I recommend using Zappos.

I bought these hoping they'd be as comfortable as my other three Birkenstock pairs, but as others have said in their reviews, they're not quite as comfortable "out of the box". I think the problem is the thickness of the leather, which gives a harder edge to the straps. My other Birkenstocks have thinner leather and straps - the leather on these is thicker and took a little break-in period for me. They're comfortable for me now and I wear them constantly. The soft footbed is incredibly comfortable, like all my Birks.

Very nice sandal. Footbed is soft. Sandal is light and not heavy. The sole is nice and textured so you won\'t slip on wet surfaces. I would purchase this sandal again when mine wears out.

I love these sandals! Last summer I wore a pair of Milano's with the regular footbed, and they helped heal a problem I've had with Plantar Fasciitis, but they felt rock hard after lots of walking. These soft-footbed Milanos are super. I can walk all day in them. They are my main summer footwear. I also like being able to purchase these in a narrow width, which looks not quite as trollish as the regular width, but fits my average width foot.

This shoe is big. If you are petite and put this shoe on, it might look a little funny because it will make your feet look even bigger and therefore, you might look a little out of proportion. I am returning them because of the style. Zappos is great with returns. I have size 8 feet and the size 39s were a tad too long

I've worn Birkenstocks for over 20 years and the Milano's are the best!!!!! I'm overweight and I needed a good sandal for a vacation to San Diego so I bought these. I walked the San Diego zoo for over 4 hrs. and I walked Old Town, etc...I must have walked well over 15 hrs. on my 10 day vacation and never once did my feet hurt. The soft bed in these sandals are wonderful...I couldn't have done that kind of walking even in sneakers.

Birkenstock Milano Soft Footbed.
I wear a number of Birkenstock sandal soft footbeds, but I needed one to walk my dog a mile and half a day. Even though I purchased New Balance tennis shoes each year for overpronation, they were never as comfortable as my Birkenstocks and my legs were drained after each walk. So this spring I decided to try the Milano soft footbed with the strap around the ankle. Best thing I've done for myself in a long time! Very, very comfortable, no leg strain or drain when I get home.

I have had many pairs of Birkenstock's before and loved every one of them...BUT this pair is by far the best I have ever had. The comfort of this show is outstanding. The Soft Footbed of this model provides more comfort than any shoe of its kind that I have had in the past. All I can say is this is a wonderful shoe and Zappos had it shipped to me faster than any other company. Everybody should give this shoe a try.

Great comfy sandal!
These are great shoes. I needed something more secure than the Arizona type Birkenstock to use on the Elliptical every morning and these work great! And...I keep them on all day most days. Of course, you cannot beat Birkenstock quality and looks. You just cannot have too many Birkenstocks -- I have more than these!

Great Shoe! I am sold on Birks for comfort. The look is not that attractive, but COMFORT it is. I have flat, narrow, plantar fasciitis feet and the more I wear them, the better they feel. Absolute no foot pain. This is my third pair of Birks sandals, but my first pair w/ a strap. I highly recommend the strap for people w/ narrow, skinny feet. Helps them feel more secure and keeps foot better placed on footbed. Excellent shoe. Highly recommend for anyone w/ narrow feet. GET THE NARROW and it does run slightly short. I wear 8 1/2-9 and the 40s just barely fit! Zappos is amazing. My 3rd time dealing w/ them. Excellent customer service, excellent!

Behold, the most comfortable shoe in the world -
I have difficult feet - long Morton's toes, wide feet, big feet, and Morton's Neuroma. As a consequence I need perfect arch support, and no other type of shoe delivers like a Birkenstock. Once the footbed is broken in, you won't want to wear anything else. Some complain about the leather straps in the non-suede Birks - they do take a little breaking in. A word of advice: buy them in the winter, wear them with heavy wool socks while the straps relax. By spring you'll be good and bonded with them. Another nice thing about Birks is they are easily repaired - there are some good reputable shops online - restoring them virtually brand new for a fraction of the cost of new shoes. I prefer the Milano over all other Birk models. The clogs irritate my Morton's toe and Arizonas don't have enough support. The back strap keeps these shoes firmly in place, making them appropriate for a number of activities, not the least being walking for which they are excellent.

European sizes -
European sizes always run wider. If you wear an A or AA, Birkenstocks narrow is still too wide.

Hard to find narrow width is perfect fit, left foot. Superficial clot on right foot has caused problem that I will discuss with podiatrist/surgeon and convey later.

Only sandal my podiatrist will let me wear. The narrow is truly narrow. Got a blister on my arch the first time I wore them for more than an hour or so. But they fit like a glove. Wasn't sure about the soft footbed but love them!!!!

Bad Feet?
Having a condition of nerve pain at the ball of the feet, my doctor demanded I only buy shoes with no-flex in the sole. This sandal was a perfect selection for my problem. I wear a size 13 shoe and the metric 45 was perfect as these sandals are cut on the large side.
Zappos delivered quite promptly!

Wish I could wear Birkenstock -
Because I must wear sandals most of the time, a variety of styles, even in Birkenstock, would be helpful--something a little more feminine I think. The fit is great, though I get annoyed with that raised edge at the toe, and I now prefer velcro to buckles in order to easily slip in and out of shoes when visiting friends who have a no-shoes policy.
Shoe designers and manufacturers be warned: the population of women over 65 is growing rapidly, and will want and require comfortable yet attractive, even elegantly designed shoes, not left-overs from the '60's.

Happy Feet -
I had bunion and hammertoe surgery last summer and my feet are still "tender". A friend who had the same surgery suggested Birkenstocks. They definitely make my feet feel better. I chose the sandals so that as the swelling goes down I can just tighten the straps. I have been wearing them with socks in the cold weather and doing just fine. I would recommend these to anyone with foot problems.

Best ever -
These are the best sandals you can own. They cost more than a cheap pair you can get elsewhere, but are much higher in quality and comfort. Zappos is also the best footwear company I have ever dealt with.

Birkenstocks to the Rescue!
I suffer from extreme pain in my right heel. Birkenstocks are the only shoes I can wear. Guess it is the all around construction of the shoe that gives me such relief from the pain. They simply make my feet feel good all day. My grown children have worn them for years and suggested that I give them a try. My daughter's foot doc gave her a thumbs up on Birkenstocks. The soft sole is a plus.

Birkenstock Milano Soft Footbed--A Winner -
I work on concrete and have foot problems. Birkenstock Soft Footbed shoes and a few New Balance are the only shoes I can wear without pain. I tried the original footbed but didn't have any luck with it. I hope Birkenstock will introduce some additional colors and smooth leathers and styles into the soft footbed shoes. I had sizing problems with the first pair of Birks that I bought, but now I know which size is best for me. I have found no other shoes that have the arch support of Birkenstock shoes.
