So sad...
Measure twice, buy once. The calf circumference of these boots is exactly as described but poor dumb me didn't take my own measurements into account before ordering. These look sleek even in widths and my 6-1/2 EE feet fit beautifully. I could zip them up but the fit in the calf was too constricting to justify the expense. Reluctantly returned.

I bought a pair in black patent leather. They feel great! True to size, comfortable, totally waterproof, and really warm. Almost too warm. The details and style are high quality and I was tempted to buy a second pair in red. However, the price stopped me from doing so. I will add that I have been looking at these boots for 3 consecutive years looking at them, but finally decided to pamper myself... it was like a dream came true.

Wonderfully comfortable and very versatile -
I've bought and returned SO many boots. A year ago I learned I had bunions and that my feet had widened during my pregnancies. So shoes/boots I'd been wearing for a long time all of a sudden hurt. I bought these as 8 wides and have been able to wear them for nearly full days, right out of the box. Very comfortable and they look great, especially for such low heels!

Immediately comfortable -
I find La Canadienne boots immediately comfortable and true to size. The calf is fitted so these fit easily beneath jeans. Any pant or legging tucked needs to be thin. Skinny jeans can fit into these unless they are long at the ankle. I have used these in the rain and my feet were warm and dry all day.

Great Comfort and Style -
I like these better than Nike Sneakers for a long day out in NYC. Hip/super comfy and the medium height of the boot is more practical for a long wear. They are well made so looks like they will last a long time. Love them in Black!

Great winter boot!
Fantastic winter boot - keeps me warm and dry, while still fashionable. This way I can just put on these boots and go, no need to switch from my winter clunkers to nice shoes when I get to work!

These boots weren't made for walkin' -
Super cute! And can stand up to the rain big time, no slipping or sliding. I do not have the skinny leg thing going on, so I was concerned about them fitting my calves and they do! Wonderfully
BUT they are a little too stiff over the instep which makes them a three or four hour boot as opposed to an eight hour plus boot. I've only worn them four times and my mom says they will loosen up after a few more wears... but gosh they are so cute that when I look down at my feet I get so tickled that I almost forget about the stiff instep.

Hesitant, but now a convert!
Okay, I wasn't crazy about the looks of this boot when I saw it in the flesh. I thought they were kind of orthopedic-looking, but I wore them out & about & I'm sold! There's plenty of room in the toe box; I think they're a tad tight around the calf, but I like the height of the shaft; not too tall. They were comfortable right out of the box!

These boots are red!
I ordered these boots thinking they would be a subtle red/cherry color. They were pretty, but I didn't think I could wear them without making a statement. They are great boots, but I was looking for something that would go with everything. I have returned the red and will reorder in black since the boots are very well made, have a great shape, and are very stylish. I have other La Canadienne boots and just like those
these were right-out-of-the-box comfortable. Just a little too loud.

A boot to sing about -
Never heard of La Canadienne before my buddy bought these boots a few years ago. Then I forgot about La Canadienne again. Until I saw these babies on Zappos. So glad I did. Now my buddy in Michigan and I in Texas have something to sing about across the miles. I've been looking for a good-looking waterproof boot since winter began... and now I've found them. The color is just splashy enough classy, yet fun to wear with my "hip" drab wardrobe of black and gray and brown. They're equally at home with a mini-skirt or jeans at the bar or your parents' 50th anniversary party or that funeral where you'll show your respect. I've got the skinniest, chickeniest calves in the world and these babies don't sag too much nor do they scratch if I have short socks on. Nice. They're expensive, no doubt, but I expect them to last a long, long time.

LOVE THESE BOOTS!
I got the red ones and they are fabulous. Love them. I have very narrow feet, so they are kind of wide, but otherwise, the fit is great and they are very comfortable. I love the way they look!

Great boot -
Great boot. I was surprised at how very comfortable it was. I own another pair of La Canadienne boots, and these are much more comfy than the others. The leather is nice, stretches well, and forms to your foot. In person, the boot isn't quite as chic as I thought it looked in the pictures, but it's still a nice boot and I'm keeping them. I wore them in upstate NY for Christmas, and they kept my feet warm and dry in all the snow. The only other thing is I wish the shaft was a little taller but they still work even at the slightly shorter height. I'm happy I bought these, and I do recommend them. As always, Zappos provided excellent service. Can't say enough good things about Zappos!

Almost Perfect.
This is a great looking boot with a 60's retro look to it, especially in patent leather. Looks great with jeans or a funky dress or mini skirt. My feet are very tiny and hard to fit -This boot definitely ran larger than a true size 5. I had to stick lambswool in the toe to prevent my foot from sliding to the front. Also, I have bunions and I have to wear a lot of padding around my big toes to prevent them from hurting. Having said that, it's a fabulous boot and COMPLETELY waterproof. I walked in a major New York City rain storm, through puddles, and I my foot remained totally dry and cozy. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have "feet issues". The calf width is kind of narrow so anyone with large calves might have a problem, but it fit my skinny legs like a glove! All in all I love the boot. I just wish La Canadienne boots ran a little truer to size for those of us with very small feet.

La Canadienne Blanche -
Have tried soo many boots the past few years. None come close to the comfort and style of these. The shaft of most boots are gigantic and sloppy, these fit like a glove. The rubber soles make them very comfortable. I have a wide foot and arthritis in my big toe so finding shoes of any kind that are comfortable is difficult. I would buy these in every color if the price were a little easier on the wallet. Great boot.

Quality footwear true to size -
Very nice boot and has a wide toe box. I am still trying to decide if I should keep it since my calves are a little large and this is the first boot I have ever had that was tight on the calf. They are leather so I wonder if they will stretch.

Love these boots in red! Wish they had a little more arch support, but they're very comfortable otherwise. And they are waterproof--yes!

Love, love, love these boots! I have funky feet to say the least and these are like a glove on your foot! I usually run 10-10 1/2, so I got the 10 1/2 and they are perfect, with a medium sock! Spend the dough, it's well worth it! Don't be cheap, you'll get sore feet!!!

This is great boot. I needed something that offered a little height and style with stability. It's a sleek looking boot, made of super soft and gorgeous leather. It's really comfortable if you've got back or foot problems. The sole of the boot is made of rubber and the mushiness makes my feet hurt after walking for long periods of time, but that's my only complaint. It's just one feature away from being the perfect boot. Missing a steel shank sole probably won't bother most people. And they really are waterproof! I accidentally poured water all over my foot on the first day of wearing them and the water just rolled right off. They're expensive, but well worth it.

Clunky but so comfortable -
I bought these because I needed rain boots that fit my orthotic inserts. If you are looking for the same thing, these boots are for you. I've walked for miles in the rain wearing these and my feet were very comfortable. However, these boots are not the greatest looking. They are extremely clunky--and not in a hip, downtown way but in an ugly, unfashionable way--and the height of the shaft makes them unflattering to the leg. I had planned to wear them with skirts and jeans/pants but in actuality I only wear them with jeans/pants. I have the regular black leather. I saw the patent leather in the store and found it very cheap looking. One other thing: I have narrow ankles yet the first few times I wore these, the zipper rubbed against my ankles. Since my feet were so comfortable I didn't mind all that much. But after a few wearings the leather must have stretched a bit and now the ankles feel fine. Overall, if you don't mind the look or will wear them only with jeans/pants, you will be happy with these.

Great Boots -
These La Canadienne boots are worth the money! They are super cute and comfortable. I walk 30 minutes each way during my commute to work, and these boots are holding up on the Manhattan streets. I only wish that they were a little bit taller.

Most comfortable boots since Dr. Martens!
This boot is one of the best and of finest quality I've ever purchased (and I know my boots)! Instantly comfortable. My calf is larger than average and the boot still fits comfortably (though I don't think it could zip around more than a 16" calf). The only thing I wish this boot had is a taller height: It hits right in the middle of the calf - and I wish it were 3" or more taller. Regardless, I look forward to wearing this boot all winter!

Love this boot!
Love everything about this boot. I've worn it a lot-even when it wasn't raining! The only comment I have is that I ordered it a 1/2 size larger in case I wanted to wear socks. Not necessary. I'm slipping a little in the foot but I wasn't willing to wait for a replacement. Definitely order your true size.

Impressive -
I am 5'2 115lbs, but I have wide feet, bunions, and muscular calves. Most boots just don't fit--except for these, which fit my poor bunions (medium width, no less). Size 7W was too big, though I have to admit they were perfect on my calves; I'm keeping the regular width though, which is perfect for my feet and perfectly fine on my legs. I'm a professor and on my feet a lot (AND I walk to school); these couldn't be better for an all-around fantastic boot (though if you have a more conservative or dressy job than I do, they might not be dressy enough for work). I have been looking for good winter boots, and with these, I have winter boots, work boots, and weekend boots--all rolled into one! Well worth the price to know my feet will be warm, dry, comfortable, all in a stylish boot.
