Good arch support. I use these for running in wet grass with my dogs. I like that they are supportive and waterproof. Highly recommend.

Bought these shoes for when I snowshoe on packed trails. I did not experience any negative break in period. My feet stay dry and warm. Lots of support for running with and without the snowshoes. My feet are wide and they accommodated my feet very well.

An excellent shoe! It has enough arch support (I have high arches) without adding my usual arch support inserts. This is a good thing since the inserts made my foot sit too high in the shoe. They are stiff (expected) but not overly so and a bit heavy (also expected). But overall they work well for my purposes, which is dog agility (outside) in FL. The waterproofing is awesome for heavy dewy winter mornings in the grass (no more wet socks). Order a half size smaller than usual and save time, they really do run a half-size larger. I normally wear a 9 or 9 1/2 in running shoes and I had to get an 8 1/2.

Salomon XA Pro 3D XCR shoe -
Wanted a water proof, tough all around shoe and this one fit all my needs. Stylish, warm, hard core feeling, yet comfortable. Tight when you first wear them, but within a few wears, they form to your feet. Awesome shoe.

Best hiking shoes ever - Excellent fit, cushioning, and size. Can handle any kind of terrain with ease. Takes a couple of days to break in due to my feet being a little wider, but no big problem there. Will continue to buy from Salomon when I run this pair into the ground.

Satisfied customer! I was very impressed with both Zappos and the Salomon shoe that I had ordered. I received my shoes within a couple of days of ordering and didn't have to pay extra! The shoes themselves have been great. They look good and took very little time to break in. They also offer incredible all day (walking, hiking, etc.) support. The shoe felt true to size and I love not having any shoe strings. I would definitely recommend this shoe to others.

Great hiker -
Great supportive shoe, terrific for hiking and trail running. Not as grippy in the sole as I had hoped, though. Found that out coming down the sheer vertical granite face of Half Dome. Thank goodness I have strong arms and hands to grip the cables. The sole slipped several times. Those conditions are kind of asking a lot of a shoe, though, so I would still recommend it.

I love these shoes for running. Have finished marathons in these shoes and the Montrail Hurricane Ridge comfortably, considering. Not a high mileage runner/trainer otherwise. The lacing system is great.

Yay great shoe -
I love this shoe! On the cushion side, it is a little lacking, but it makes up for it in looks (I got red), comfort and lightweight-edness. Light duty hiking was really easy in these and they are comfortable to walk all day in. I work in Keens for back support, but these Salomons are great for outdoor play!

Comfortable and practical -
I bought the darker shoe and I am very pleased. Wear a thicker sock or you will have slippage on the heel. The arch is nice, although I would still need to add additional support for longer hikes; I have a very high arch. This shoe has proven to be water proof for puddles - I wonder if those who reported that they are not stepped in water above the shoes height.

Totally great shoes.....
I bought these shoes in black as part of my uniform (am a massage therapist.) I noticed immediate improvement in my back problems once I started wearing them. Now I wear them all the time (well, it is winter). I have to admit, though, that I do not run in these...I have a pair of brooks that feel much better for running....

Great looking shoe, not the most comfortable -
When I first got this shoe, I was so excited. When I put it on, I was disappointed. The length is great, but the width is narrow. If you have a wide foot, you should try the man’s version. The tongue gusset bunches up and hurts at the instep. I didn’t size up because if I do, the length will be too long and my heel will slip out. What I do to relieve the gusset pressure is flip it so it’s out and not tighten the lace too much. The arch is very noticeable, but not a bad thing. I’m hoping that the shoes will break in the longer I wear them, but my feet are suffering a little.

Trail shoe review -
It is great that they are really waterproof, but the extra stiffness - to make them better on the trails is a bit too much for me - they have little to no cushion. They are great on the trails for about an hour - any more and I need for cushion.

Fabulous shoe -
I ordered this shoe to be able to walk daily in my climate and conditions. I live on an island, with dirt roads and paths only,(off the coast of Maine) and I needed something light weight and waterproof. This is perfect! A terrific fit around my narrow heel (I did end up in 1/2 size smaller than I actually wear) and I tend to be a bit on the narrow side anyway. The shoe has a wonderful "feel" to it. I really appreciate the structure of the shoe though, as I can slip my foot right in with out having to bend down and wiggle it down into the forefront of the shoe. Also, the snappy "quick lace" gadget is a dream for someone like me who hates tied shoes! Not sure what you would do if it broke, but it seems very sturdy. So, these shoes, in January,(and my feet stay very warm too!) with a pair of the Stabilicer Lites, and I can walk on all the glare ice, and they still remain lightweight! I look forward to testing them a bit more in wetter, low spots on the paths near the beach, or near the pond. I think they will be fine. Regular sneakers are soaked in about a minute just in morning grass! I encourage you to try them, comfortable, breathable, and easy off and on--a great shoe!

Great outdoor weather shoe -
These shoes actually ARE waterproof! I can't believe it. They also have good traction on the snow and ice, although yesterday I did put my yaks on them anyway (additional ice tread)
They are VERY comfortable and I didn't need to "break" them in at all! No blisters or sore toes or heals. That was great.
I read reviews from some other readers and can't agree with the buy a half size smaller theme. I tried that and ended up sending them back for my regular size - and if they were any more narrow, I wouldn't be able to wear them.
I was skeptical about the lacing system, but found that it is very easy, practical and a timesaver.
I ordered the blue color and now kind of wish I had ordered the more muted grey-ish. The blue is a little loud for me. Oh, well, at least they aren't the red ones!!!
And most importantly to me in any shoe, is the excellent arch support. Haven't had this in an athletic shoe in a long long time.

Love the "laces", but definitely not waterproof -
These came up when I did a search for waterproof shoes. I should have read the fine print, as they don't actually claim that feature, but do say they'll keep your feet dry. Well, once they get wet, they stay wet for days! However, I love the laceless technology, and generally they're quite comfy.

Big red cinder blocks. . . .
I really like the look of these shoes- I bought them for running in winter conditions. They kept my feet warm and dry but the way that the lacing system works, it narrows the toe box from the big toe laterally when you tighten it down. By the end of my first run, my big toenail was digging into the toe and hurt badly. If I released the lacing a little bit, I felt like I was going to come out at the heel/ankle. Also, they are heavy compared to most running shoes and felt like running with cinder blocks attached to my feet. I will wear these around for walking/hiking but no longer for running.

I ordered this shoe, whose brand I wasn't familiar with, partly because of the color pictured, partly because of the description and largely because of remarks by other purchasers. It's a pricey shoe but in my mind well worth the cost. As another person remarked, it is ready to go on its first time out of the box. I love the closure. Maybe I missed them, but instructions on how the closure works would have been helpful for one not so familiar with running shoes.

Great waterproof shoe.
I have wanted to buy this shoe for some time. I run dog agility outside most of the year and encounter plenty of rain. I tried this shoe on at a retailer and found my normal running shoe size of 8 to be enormous! I also tried the 7.5 and found it huge. They did not have a 7. I took a chance and ordered the 7 from Zappos and it fits. Even though it fits and I have a narrow foot, it is very narrow in the toebox. My feet do not hurt, but I am aware of the shoe at all times. I haven't had this problem with other tennis shoes. Usually, once I am wearing them, I don't notice them. Unfortunately, I wore them outside. I probably needed the 7.5, but it felt so huge that it most likely would have gone back. I am going to wear really thin socks to offset the small toebox. This shoe is very good looking and great for wet conditions.

AMAZING -
This shoe is an amazing outdoor extreme weather shoe...we have recently received 8" of snow and when I wear these to work, my feet are just as dry as when I first put them on!
