Good boot, could be taller. Just got this boot. Time will tell if it holds up to Chicago slush, but it's a comfy boot. Seems to run true to size; I got a half size larger so I can put in extra insoles (I like my workhorse shoes super-comfy) and accommodate thick socks. Hey Sorel, how about making this same boot but add about 3 more inches on the top of the boot? I'm a little concerned that the boot will be too short for the crazier snowfalls.

I needed something to walk my kids to school in when there's lots of snow and ice on the ground. The thick lug sole on these boots with the warm uppers would have been perfect. Unfortunately, they were way too short and felt very wide. There seemed to be a lot of extra boot on the sides of my foot, much too much to make up for with thick socks. Also, the uppers weren't as soft and cozy as I had imagined. They looked good but felt only okay. I did really like the dark black suede, almost enough to keep them if they weren't at least that size too small!

These are my favorite boot. Best I've ever had! Runs a little big so I recommend getting a half size smaller.

I purchased these earlier this autumn after I moved to Minot North Dakota. I knew I would be needing a good pair of boots that would last me for years to come. I tend to be more of a suburbanite so I was looking for something that is good around town, not out in the field. Like between the car and the grocery store or shoveling the walks or something. Or when there is slush on the ground so my feet stay dry and warm but still look good. Today was the first day I have worn these. Winter has reared its ugly head here early, and I decided to break these out. I used these exactly how I anticipated. The bottoms of my jeans may have gotten wet, but my feet did not. They are VERY stiff, especially for driving, but I know they will break in, and am looking forward to it. I anticipate these being my casual shoes when it is cold and wet outside. I love these so much I am looking at a second pair of Sorels and dropping hints to my husband for Christmas. I have always been a Dr Martens girl, that is changing :)

These have been very loyal snow boots for two Minnesota winters. They claim to be rated to -40F and I will happily attest that they do indeed keep the feet warm at that temperature. They are quite warm when outside in the snow, yet your feet don't boil when you go inside. They're comfortable (as long as you get the size that fits), and quite durable. They have proven their waterproof-ness and are invincible to springtime slush! I would warn about sizing decisions. I ordered and returned several pairs of these before deciding on a size that ended up being wrong. I think overall they're true to size. If anything, they're the tiniest bit small. But beware ordering a size bigger to accommodate thick socks lest your feet be swimming in space. Also beware settling on a pair that feels like a pair of athletic shoes (comfortably snug, sort of holding and wrapping around your feet), lest you end up in too-narrow boots that mess up your feet and hurt your toes when you walk down hills. Overall though, a wonderful, very effective, durable boot.

Very nice, but scratchy inside -
This boot was one of the most comfortable I've ever put my feet in - until you walked. On the inside wear the zipper was rubbed up against my skin and I felt it even through my sock. It might have softened up over time, but my leg and ankle couldn’t handle the pain until that time. I'm returning for another Sorel because these had so much potential and beyond the zipper, felt great.

Order Waterfall boots 1 full size up -
I followed the recommendations of reviewers and ordered 1/2 size up from my regular shoe size, but couldn't get my foot into the boot easily. Once they were on, they were definitely still too short. Cute boots, just order up a size, minimum. I'm still waiting for my return sticker too...it's been a couple of weeks. For a first time order, I'll give Zappos the benefit of the doubt as I know they have a service motto, but I would have liked to have had this box out of the kitchen and my payment refunded within a week to ten days.

Sorel's Waterfall -
My winter boots fell apart and I was looking for a new pair. It was the end of the season and I wasn't having any luck. I wanted something sturdy that could handle anything from looking nice to being warm for shoveling snow. Talking to my husband one evening, he suggested I look on the web for Sorel's as that is what his winter working boots were and he's had them for over 20 years and they are still going strong! I started surfing and found the Waterfall boots on your site and others. It seemed to fit everything I was looking for . . . so I took a chance and ordered them. They look great, are extremely warm (can handle colder weather than I'll likely experience I think) and my first experience with Zappos was great. For those of you with a high arch - I have one as well and I was able to get my feet into these with only a little struggle - lighter socks would help that and they are so warm you don't need the heavy ones. I ordered a 7.5 which was always my size until over the years you can never tell what size will fit you. The 7.5 is definitely the right size so I would say that sizing is true. I really like them - the black suede makes them a bit dressier but I wanted something sturdy with good soles that will grip under bad conditions - after all that is what they are boots! Now high heeled ones for me. I loved them. Also the Zappos experience was excellent - they weren't in stock - but the emailed me when they became available again . . . free shipping (and I understand the shipping is free for returns and exchanging sizes! - makes you feel safer just knowing that). Then communication as to when they would arrive - they even sent them out faster and notified me when they were coming! I'm new at this ordering online business but with Zappos I felt comfortable. I did find other sites where I could have saved a few dollars but considering shipping and free size exchange - it would probably come out the same over time if you start ordering this way all the time. Excellent service counts!

This boot is very warm, waterproof, and stylish. The tread works well in the snow. It is streamlined enough to wear under jeans but can also be work with jeans tucked in.

Love these boots!
Purchased them to wear at Sundance Film Festival as we do a lot of walking and standing. These boots were incredibly comfy, warm and were not bulky.

I really like this boot. The only drawback to it is if you have a high instep it is very hard to get on even with the zipper. I purchased this boot because of the zipper figuring I would not have any trouble getting it on which I do have, but after it is on the fit is great so I decided to keep it. It also keeps my feet very warm for outdoor activities. It is very comfortable for walking, too.

Cute but too short -
My ankles and legs are slim but despite this the boots are a bit tight to zip and didn't ever really zip completely so I wore them partially open. They are cute but a little short in length and not as warm as I would have liked when I wore them to Europe. In addition, the toe box felt like steel. In retrospect I would have gone for a better fitting and warmer boot.

I love the boot. I have high arches so it was a little challenging to get on the first few times. I also have skinny legs and they just fit with my jeans tucked in when I zip them up. So if you have bigger calves these may not work for you.

Great Boot -
I was looking for a warm, stylish, comfy boot but would have settled for just warm as I can't stand being cold; I live in Iowa. This boot is everything I was looking for. I did read previous reviews and ordered a half-size bigger and I'm glad I did just because of the extra room when wearing thicker socks. I have had no problems getting the boots on or off or with the zipper rubbing my calfs. Definitely worth every penny I spent!

I got these boots two days before traveling to Sun Valley, Idaho and boy, am I glad I did. They kept my feet warm and dry through long snow shoeing adventures and were also extremely comfortable. A+ for these boots.

Good Winter Boot -
This boot is fantastic for the cold, wet, snowy Chicago winter. I needed a boot that would not only be warm but also waterproof (for trekking through the snow and puddles). I have been very happy with my Sorel Waterfall boots on both accounts.

I read the other reviews before I bought this boot, and they were right. It started out really stiff, and I thought it was not going to work, but these boots have softened up and I really like them. The only part I don't love is that they are kind of hard to zip up.

Super in snow and slush -
Love, love, love these boots. I got them for the never-ending Chicago winter in February, and they are perfect for awful weather. They were a little stiff at first, but hey, they're boots. They need to be broken in a bit. They're also roomy enough that you can tuck in your jeans and zip them in as well. I've worn them quite a bit and they look just as new as the day they arrived- super waterproofing. They did rub my shin a little bit in the first week, but that has since stopped.

Arctic test of warmth -
I bought these boots for a trip to the Canadian Arctic. I wore them walking around in temperatures of -40 and below and my feet didn't feel the least bit cold. They were a bit stiff to wear at first, but after a day of non-stop wear, they loosened up and were quite comfortable. Not only did they keep me warm, but they are cute and stylish - something you don't often find in true cold weather boots.
