Jack Purcell, leather are great. True to size. I\'m a 10.5 and at first ordered a 10 thinking the sizing is the same as the chucks. 10.5 works better. zappos sent replacement pair the next day before the original pair went back. excellent service. and fast.

I have owned a canvas pair of Jacks for about 5 years and like them very much, so I decided to try the leather model. Oddly, I bought the same size in both leather and canvas (women's 6), but find the leather ones to be larger/longer than the canvas ones? I don't know what the deal is with that, but the new leather ones actually fit more comfortably even though they are a trifle long. In any case, they are quite comfortable, having a superior sock liner, and give rather good support. The soles, unlike those on the canvas models, are siped (meaning they have cuts which give good grip, like the soles of deck shoes) and make that cool noise when you scuff them across a hard surface. In appearance, I think they look very cool and I get comments about them. Lastly, I think Jack Purcells are very cool because James Dean wore them, as evidenced by a Jack Purcell print ad from the 90s showing a photo of Mr. Dean in Jacks, the copy of which ad read: "Cool cat, cool dogs, not fade away." I liked the ad so much I bought the shoes. I'm sure they will make me immortal.

I love these shoes! They are classic but not out dated. Yet the only problem for me is that they really hard to break in. If I only use one pair of socks the backs of my feet are destroyed so lately I have been wearing two pairs. I know it sounds strange but it works. My feet are not ruined and I am still able to brake them in.

I would like to begin by saying the Zappos delivery was very fast and the packaging was excellent. Now, about these shoes...they're simply great. The look and the feel are terrific. People always ask me where I got them (in full leather they're kind of rare). Unlike the Chuck Taylor All Stars shoes, which look very good but don't feel very good, these Jack Purcell's have a thick insole that gives exceptional support and comfort. I found the shoes to be true to size - unlike the All Stars in which you always have to go down a half to full size.

Awesome sneaker!!
Love these kicks!!! Very comfortable, I traveled around Manhattan for hours and at the end of the day my feet were as comfortable as they were when I first put them on. They fit true to size and look awesome with black liquid leggings and a light jacket!!!

These shoes fit like a glove. I have flat feet and these shoes were great - they totally conformed to my foot and make for a great all-day sneaker. I have the white color, and while they do get dirty quickly (as does any white shoe), 15 minutes with a magic eraser and a $3 pair of shoelaces will make them look like new again.

Another to my collection -
This is my winter addition to my converse collection this year although it was added late this year. The leather is comfy and nice for cooler weather and when you travel to other parts that are cold. Have these in brown also. Leather not always easy to find. Always comfy and I have a narrow foot so these work well.

Converse jack purcell leather -
I wanted something comfortable & cute at the same time & that will go w/ everyday casual wear. I had read a lot of positive comments about these pairs, so I gave it a shot & got them. Yes they are cute & easy to care for bc I got the leather version; however, I wish it had more arch support & more padding in front above the toes area. So I can wear them w/o socks during the summer.

This shoe feels like lamb skin. Only upon bringing it to my face could I tell it was synthetic. Needless to say, no one will know that it's not the real deal. The shoe is not flashy but stylish, nonetheless. For those who like understated style, this is your shoe!

Great Shoes!
This is my second pair of these. The first ones wore out (got holes between the leather and the soles) after about 6 months of pretty much constant wear in pretty wet weather (I had not weather proofed them).

Great shoe, slightly worried about durability -
I've worn Jack Purcells for years, and purchased this leather version just to have a slightly nicer option in the same style. They look and feel great, but after wearing them only three or four times, the shiny leather exterior is starting to peel off the leather itself, almost like a little rubber layer. It's just happening around the collar right now, but it's definitely a bummer.

My new Jack Purcells -
I get compliments every day. They are a little stiff at first, sort of like Allstars, but they break in after a few wears. The tongue could be a little softer, but I'll sacrifice that for the cute look. I went 1/2 size larger than my Allstars - I think all the rubber makes them feel tight.

Really uncomfortable. I have had other Ahnu's and have returned them all due to blisters and lack of comfort. These guys should go into another business besides shoes! I had to leave 1 star because no other option. OUCH!

I love these sneakers! They look great, feel comfy, and have all the good looks of the canvas but are easier to clean! If you are thinking about getting them, then get them! Plus, you can't beat Zappos free shipping and returns!

Just to get this out of the way. Zappos is awesome. Great service and speedy delivery. Free, both ways. Can't beat it. Now with the review. Get with it Asics. 13+ oz for a shoe? Really? Mizuno, Nike, Saucony and more have found ways to shave weight to about 9.5 oz for the same category shoe. The Kayano is dead feeling. Get rid of that Gel crap. I understand they are not going to feel as light as their DS Trainer, but I get a much better shoe in Saucony Hurricane or the Mizuno Inspire for longer runs. I feel sorry for the people who were suckered into their even heavier Kinsei or Kinetic. Give it a rest already with the bells and whistles. I've given up on Asics unfortunately.

Great retro shoe - I used to wear the Jack Purcell as a teenager in the 70s when other girls were just wearing the plain white Keds. I ordered these in hopes of bringing back some good memories. Love the leather. It is so soft. Love the shoe. I ordered the girls 9 but could have done a bit better with the 8.5. This shoe runs large. Not much arch support but still comfortable. A great look for anyone.

Zappos did it again! Delivery is 'out of this world'!!! Why bother going to the local stores? As far as the shoe, it's all I expected. I have regular All-Star Chucks, but these Jack Purcell’s are made with a lot more detail and comfort in mind. Leather gives them a more sophisticated look. The key is to choose the correct size. I wear 10 in women's... Converse's 9.5 fit me like a glove. Thanks Zappos for the extremely quick ship once again!

I'm a size 7.5 in regular Chucks, so thinking that Converse would be consistent with their size between styles, I ordered a 7.5. I should've gotten a 7. They ran a little big on me.

A totally cute shoe but I should have heeded the reviews and got at least a half size smaller. If I had, I probably wouldn't have had the sense that they make my feet look really big (size 7). They are surprisingly comfortable unlike any other Converse shoe I have worn. Lots of toe room.

These shoes are great. They look amazing. They're quite comfortable, but not as comfortable as I would imagine. I got the white ones and I'm extremely happy with them. Beautiful, sexy shoes.

These are great. They look good with everything and they're super comfortable. One note: I did get the white version with the baby blue soles and they tend to get pretty dirty. It's not really a big deal, but it makes you feel bad the first time you walk outside with them.

Bought as a gift for husband, whose is used to wearing, Jack Purcell canvas style tennis shoes, thought the leather style would be easier to keep clean. The only fault he could find was in the style, he was very pleased with the fit and comfort.

Talk about a pleasant surprise -
As you can see by the other reviews, the shoes are great and perfect. I didn't have any trouble with the sizes since I already knew my sizes for the Purcell’s.
The best part of it was that I ordered it regular shipping and they unexpectedly upgraded my order to next day shipping or the two day shipping. Whichever it was, I got my shoes in two days. Awesome.
