These boots are awesome in every way. I wear them every day. They keep my feet warm and dry, and I am able to hike several miles without any discomfort.

I love my Chillkats. I own three pairs of The North Face boots and these are consistent in quality as my other two pairs. Like my other pairs they do take a little time to break in completely. The cuff tends to be a little stiff at first, but after wearing for a couple of days it breaks in nicely. I did find the Chillkats to be a little more roomy in the toe than my previous boots. I wear a 5 1/2 shoe but I'm able to wear a size 6 with The North Face boots. I do wear a thicker sock in them. I have a physical job and spend most of my day outdoors in all types of terrain and weather. I find these boots really rise to the occasion. They keep my feet dry and are rugged and sturdy on all types of terrain. However, like my other two pairs they are a little clunky. I would highly recommend these nice looking boots. I've had one of my other pairs for over 10 years and I expect to be wearing the Chillkats just as long.

These are great boots. I ordered them the size I normally would wear and they're great. It seems it has been different for everyone in terms of what size to order judging by the reviews. I've been wearing them around the house to break them in. They'll be perfect for shoveling the driveway and I can tell they're super warm. I'm ready for the snow whenever it gets here.

These boots have a lot of warm lining, but get the bigger size so your feet aren't squished. They are pretty heavy on your feet, but are waterproof and great in the snow.

I got my Chilkats today, three days after I ordered them and just in time for winter!! They were super comfortable from the get go. The toe is roomy, I wear a 7½ but being an experienced winter boot buyer, we get feet of snow not inches, I know to go up at least half a size for extra thick wool socks! I have my wools on, and I am very impressed! The fit is excellent, the shaft height I thought would be a little low but it is good, and the traction is awesome. Some people have complained about the top of the shaft being rugged, but when you are shoveling as much snow as I do, I would rather have a boot with some ankle support rather than being able to twist one! Also they are super cute!

I have very narrow feet, and though I loved the look of these boots, and on initial try on they felt good, the toe box was a little snug but after a few minutes I could tell that extended wear would not be comfortable. I normally wear a 6 1/2, and that is what I ordered, but my toes were right to the edge.

Great looking...and smart, too!
I bought these for my girlfriend for Xmas and she has officially fallen in love with them. She says they're comfortable as all get out and good on the ice and snow. It's a very attractive, sturdy looking boot that looks like it can withstand anything you throw its way.

Perfect snow boots -
We now have big snow in Chicago so I needed boots for tramping through wet piles and staying upright on slick icy sidewalks, and occasional walks in the woods. The Chilkats are warm, sturdy, and have great tread. For a hiking boot they are cute, although more utilitarian than what I usually wear. They fit well although a little loose around the ankle unless I wear thick socks.

Great Boots!
These boots are great! I just spent an hour blowing out my driveway in 20 degree weather and my feet were toasty warm the whole time! I also wore them this weekend while walking around Chicago because they are so light weight. I hope these boots last forever!

This is a nice shoe. It keeps the feet very warm and dry. I wear a size 8 so given that it is insulated, I ordered a size 9. Unfortunately it was still too snug on my feet. I guess I should have gone with a size 9.5. If ordering this shoe, order it one and one half size larger.

Awesome boots!
I bought these boots because my sister wanted to go snowshoeing over the holidays and I didn't have any good winter boots to wear. Now that I've been breaking them in for a few weeks, have gone for walks in them, and went snowshoeing twice, I feel like I can give a review. They are most definitely waterproof. They're also very warm--I wear only a light pair of wool socks and my feet were toasty. I've had many compliments on them from friends, family, and co-workers (which doesn't happen too often for me!) about how they look. The traction is fantastic. It makes walking the dog on unshoveled sidewalks a breeze. I rated them a 4 in comfort only because they are sturdy boots--these aren't lounging shoes or tennis shoes. Mine still need a little more breaking in, but I haven't had any kind of sores or blisters from them. I also tried on several pair of Columbia's, but returned them because they were all painfully uncomfortable because the ankle was so ridiculously high. I chose a size 9 when I usually wear an 8 1/2. Anyway, I love the boots and would highly recommend them to others.

Tight fit, but warm without socks.
Love the boots, but I can't wear them with socks. Fits great without them, but the insulation/padding makes it too tight across the bridge of the foot/toes. My toes go numb if I wear a sock. But with a thin trouser sock, it is wonderful. Dry foot and warm. When we had nearly a foot and half of snow/slush, not once was I cold or wet. Traction is very good also.

I ordered a size 7.5 and got a 7.5 that feels more like a 6.5. I can barely get my foot in. Unfortunately I will have to return for a much bigger size than usual.

Great boot, just order your usual size (a lot of people are saying order a size larger, DON’T). They are a true fit so do not waste your time sending them back and forth.

Great winter boot -
Up in Boston we're in the middle of a 3-day Nor'easter, and these boots keep coming in handy. However, I've worn them a few times prior to try and break them in, but my feet tend to get a little tingly when I'm driving in them. I've changed to a larger size, but it still happens a little bit. On the other hand, they are very warm and keep my feet toasty and dry and look great. I can wear these under jeans and they don't get that real bulky clunky look. They are on the heavier side, so be prepared for that. :-)

Great cold weather boot -
I bought these Chilkats for my daughter's birthday, which were on her Wish List at another site for a higher price. The order arrived from Zappos in less than 24 hours. She is extremely pleased with the look, quality and fit of these boots, which are perfect for wet, cold winters on campus.

I absolutely love these boots. They are great for the price and are so warm and comfortable. I feel very safe walking through the ice and snow. The only issue is that they are hard to drive in because they are so industrial-like. Otherwise, they look really great with jeans and don't look like huge bulky boots, so I can wear them all the time. I wear an 8 and bought an 8. They are perfect!

A friend had told me about this boot and then I went to Zappos to see if they were in stock. Sure enough they were and at a great price. I was happy that I read the other reviews, I purchased them one size larger than I normally wear and they are perfect. Very comfortable and warm. Zappos shipping was super fast! This company knows how to make a boot that actually fits!
Great for walking the dog in snowy/icy/wet weather conditions and unpredictable terrain. Very comfy and totally waterproof. Dead-on true to size. Surprisingly fast and effortless to get on and off, and much lighter than they look. I can't say that for the other 6,000 boots I tried, all of which had painful hot spots -- and I'm just your average 7B. I also purchased a pair of North Face hiking boots, about which I can say all the same good things. A real bargain for high quality.

I ordered these boots, because I work downtown Chicago and I walk from the train to work which is about 15 min. They are definitely warm and keep your feet dry. Even though I will have to buy another pair of boots for when there is no snow on the ground, because these are for snow days only or extreme cold... Otherwise they are too much for everyday wear. I get so many compliments on them as well. I also received these boots within 1 day of ordering...you definitely can't beat that. These boots felt true to size even though it feels like they are a half size larger than what I wear(size 10), but that was without thick socks. I have ordered from Zappos before and I am always satisfied.

Great Boots!
I just got these a couple days ago. It is very cold and snowy here, so I have been able to try them out. They are very comfortable and very warm. They need some breaking in at the tops, but it isn't anything major. I ordered the white ones and they are super cute. As far as the sizes go, I was a little nervous after reading the other reviews. I wear a size 7... sometimes a 7.5, but not often... so I decided to order the 7.5 since everyone said to order big. Well, they are a little too big. I think I would have been fine ordering my actual size, but the extra room might be nice for really thick socks.

Zappos service is UNbeatable!
We just ordered North Face Chilkats in the brown last night, about 10:30, and they were just delivered at 11:40am! Zappos service is just unbelievable! As for the boots, after reading the reviews, I ordered a 9 (1/2 size larger then I normally wear in most shoes) and they fit PERFECTLY! Now this is with my normal weight socks, which is what i wanted. If you want or need to wear heavy weight socks, then order ½ a size larger yet. The med width is just perfect, I’ve got wiggle room and they are so comfortable. I won't know about around the top until I wear them awhile. It just snowed here two days ago, and the rain is melting it away! Oh NO, I wanna wear my new boots out in the snow! :) Thank you Zappos, I will continue to order from you.

Great boot!
I found that I did need to order a whole size bigger to get the correct size and have room for some thick socks. It has moderate arch support and is not extremely heavy. I like that it has the rubber all the way to the laces but then has the fabric which allows for some ankle flexibility. It has a little leather and padding at the top which makes it a little stiffer for added support.

I love these boots, comfortable and stylish. I was a bit disappointed though when I got my first pair delivered...I ordered them a half size larger than what I wear in my largest shoes and they were WAY too small. Squished my foot to the point my toes were going numb. The most wonderful thing about Zappos though is I didn’t have to pay for the return shipment! WWOOOOTT!! I then bought another pair of Chilkats a full size and half bigger and I am thrilled. Warm and comfy!! My toes all have their own space. Wondering if it will snow soon so I can wear them outside...

Toasty Warm, but Calf Chaffing!
These look fabulous. Really, really good. They are thick, warm, and have great traction and padding. However, I have worn them for 2wks now and the top ridge still chafes my outer calves, until raw. I'm hoping they will "break in" b/c they are so darn cute and warm.
