I love these shoes for summer days because I can wear them without socks and it is vented enough that they stay dry. They are also great water shoes. I wore them to the lake and they didn't even feel wet after I got out of the water.

Not good for my bunions -
I was hoping for a shoe which was nice to my heel and nice to my Runyon at the same time while providing a practical summer alternative to sneakers. I liked several things about this shoe - particularly, the breathability, and the ability to adjust the heel, which made the shoe fit better. Unfortunately, the non-mesh strap components of the front of the shoe rubbed uncomfortably on my bunions.

Looks great but not very comfortable -
Bought this shoe for trip to disney (breathability, wet/dry, etc.) Tried to break in b4 trip but still needed socks due to rough interior material and unexplainable pain/pressure on the small toe on each foot! My feet have been abused (10 yrs playing competitive basketball) so I'm not a wimp! Wear aroung now for short trips to store/playground w/ son, but for all day wear recommend socks. Bought 1/2 size smaller per other reviews and fit fine. Straps stay put but heel strap neeeds moderate adjustment.

I have used this shoe to go from long bike rides to hiking to creek stomping. Several others who saw how well mine performed will be ordering them soon. Previous reviews suggested that I order a half size smaller, which I did - and they fit perfectly. The tie tucks and drop heal took a little getting used to, but work great!

Bought these for a 10 day trip thru land, jungles, water and mud in Panama(Central America). The shoes were great, they worked like a sneaker but let out water and no socks needed (better without them). Only complaints: the back adjustment frequently comes loose and needs to be tightened, the top of shoe cuts into toe base.

love it -
I bought this shoe as a general, casual, wear-with-jeans-and-shorts shoe because It's cool looking and different from the norm. I wear it every day. I can't comment on its amphibian properties since I don't use it for that, but I love this shoe. It's comfortable, easy on and off, and stylish looking at my kids' baseball games when I'm chasing my toddler around.

Bought these for our vacation to Jamaica. Wonderful with or with out socks. They do run a half size big, so do buy them smaller. Wonderful for the falls in Jamaica. Wear them right now in NY during the cold weather. Great looking shoe with jeans or shorts.

Finally!
Going on a vacation through Central America and needed a shoe that can stand short hiking and water events. So far, it seems to fit the bill. More comfortable with a sock for sure, has parts that scrape my foot on the inside, still breaking in, hoping they won't cause blisters when barefooted. I like the laces and drop in heel support.

They're FABULOUS...and showed up in 1 DAY (even though I didn't pay for overnight shipping!)
The shoes works just like they say...only problem was little rocks getting in and not out - but I think that would happen with any amphibous SHOE vs. an amphibous SANDAL

Best all round athletic shoe -
I Love these - my feet dont sweat, they are very comfortable for all kinds of exercise. I am normally a 9.5 and ordered a size 10 - they are a tad big but the pull lace system and heel adjusting strap make them a perfect fit. I wear these without socks and i never had to wear them in - no blisters or sore spots. I use them for power walking and the gym (weights). Best of all they are very light.

I absolutely love the color of these shoes. However, no one mentions that they run a size too big. Order them a size smaller than you would normally wear.

These shoes claim to be the "step up" from the original Salomon Amphibians, and so they seem to be. They're stronger and better constructed with tighter mesh than the original amphibians. As these are some of the only sport type shoes I've encountered that are efficient to wear sans socks, I was initially dismayed to find that they folded and rubbed my big toes. This soon subsided after a few days as they broke in. The pocket that you tuck the lace harness into is still stiff and maybe slightly more inconvenient than the original amphibs as it opens at the "top" rather than from underneath. This particular color (orange & silver) is more flashy than appears in the photo, but they are fun, unique and I've received numerous compliments on them. I definitely recommend these shoes to anyone that loves general outdoor play as they are sturdy, comfortable, fun and convenient. They're easy to wash (blast 'em with a hose) and dry FAST both on and off feet.

I have the regular amphib. The Pro shoe looks too masculine, but has a better reinforced area by the little toe, which the other one wore through.

Not so quick-drying -
Love the color and convertible heel, but that's about it. Non-mesh vinyl support webbing is stiff and cuts into foot, and for some reason is stiffer after being soaked and dried again.
As for quick to dry, well, forget it. I wore these whitewater rafting--once immersed (putting in and pulling out again), they take well over 12 hours to dry. Dunked feet at 7 pm, left 'em out overnight, still drenched at 7 am. Even after an hour in dryer on low heat, footbed was still uncomfortably damp--stayed that way for another 3-4 hours on feet. Eventually gave up & put on flip-flops.
For casual knocking around, I love them - especially with the heel flap down. Great for rainy days because they are fine to get wet. Just know that once they're wet, they stay that way, and bring a second pair of dry shoes if that's what you want once you're done with the water!
