Great hiking shoe -
I brought these down to Torres del Paine in Chile and they did not disappoint. I did not break them in prior to my trip and had absolutely no problems. I hiked 50 miles in 4 days without a single blister or irritation. They proved to be the best boots I have ever bought on the last day when I hiked 6 hours in pouring rain and snow. My feet were absolutely dry and warm the entire time. I would absolutely recommend these. One note, they are more of a mid size shoe, so there is not a lot of ankle support. If you are prone to twisting, I would suggest a higher length.

I read electric meters and I was able to wear these boots right out of the box. I did order it in a 1/2 size larger and I was glad that I did. I do have a few foot problems and one of my feet was a little sore after the first day, but this is no fault of the shoe that I can tell.

Comfortable hiking shoe!
I bought these shoes to hike in Glacier National Park and they were great. I didn't have the chance to really break them in; however, they did not hurt my ankles badly even after an 18-mile hike the first day! They handle very well on rocks and are truly water resistant. You should probably order these for at least a 1/2 size bigger than your usual size but they fit really well, especially on people with narrow feet.

Good for hiking in woods and canyons...
Originally ordered this in 6.5. It felt fine till about 2 miles out on a hike; then it was clearly too small--pinched the left toes. Then ordered the size 7. They fit just right and were extremely comfortable right from the beginning. A great light hiking shoe. No break-in needed. Good cushioning and ankle support. Lightweight. I highly recommend!

Great hiking shoes!
Out of the box, these fit very comfortably. Since I wear thick socks for hiking, I ordered a half size up and they were perfect. I didn't even need to break them in, but I did wear them the day before a hiking trip to run errands, and then during a 4-hour hike in Malibu where the grounds were muddy and rocky. Both times, these shoes held up great! Completely waterproof, nice and lightweight (I didn't feel like I was wearing boulders on my feet - a good thing when you're scrambling up a gully), and the factory insoles had good support. I highly recommend!

Comfortable hiking-
Fits my narrow feet so much better than most hiking shoes. I just wore these hiking in Maui. They even held up to one day of over 9 miles of hiking on jagged rocks.

Vasque Ion Mid GTX-XCR -
I first ordered a 7 1/2, my normal size, and found it too short so ordered an 8 which was perfect. The left shoe was immediately comfortable and required no breaking in. The right shoe rubbed on the ankle and I have been wearing moleskin plus around the area. It is better but not completely able to do without the moleskin. But expect to soon.

Great hiking boots -
Vasque are always excellent boots, but the Ion Mid GTX-XCR are by far my favorite pair. They are so comfortable and keep your feet dry all day.

Vasque's Ion Mid GTX-XCR -
Went on a trip to Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta Canda. The weather was rainy/snowy and there was allot of water/mud/ice on the ground. The traction was outstanding even on ice. These light weight boots are great. I liked them so much, I got a pair for my husband and I am considering getting another pair.
I would highly recommend these boots.
