Most comfortable boots I've ever owned.
I'll admit I've only had them for one day so far, but wow. Putting these on, was like an epiphany. So that's how boots should fit. The back of the boot hugs your heel and Achilles tendon and the arch is just enough. Very light weight compared to all the boots I've worn. The marriage of form and function. Perfect boot. I own the green ones, and they're cool as hell. Unique but not flashy.

What an amazing hiking boot!!
Forget the fact that this boot is one of the best looking among the higher end hiking boots available. This boot performs great! Unbelievably comfortable. I wore them to work for a few days to break them in and I'm not even sure it would have been necessary. They were comfortable from the first moment I put them on. So far they've only been through a few miles in the Mexican jungle (the terrain consisted of mild rolling hills with tons of jutting limestone, mud and snaking tree roots), but I only have a few gripes with them overall. I'd prefer a little more ankle support and the soles seemed a bit slippery on the larger flat pieces of wet limestone and wood (I'm attributing this to the fact that it was the first real hike for these shoes and expect the traction to get better with time). Definitely recommended!!

I found the boot of my dreams!
About two and a half years ago, I bought my first pair of Asolo Fugitive GTX's. It was the best move I could've made. Most of the reviews pertain to hiking / backpacking, but I must say that I wore mine for work as well. I figured I wore these boots about 70-80 hours a week, every week! I worked ‘em hard, and took ‘em on trails too. Not only did they hold up, but they were comfortable and waterproof at the same time. Sadly, I finally wore them out. But I am online purchasing a new pair right now! I can’t wait to get my new pair! Asolo, you have a customer for life!

Great boot for the buck!
20 years in the military taught me to take care of my feet. Dry, comfortable support. The sticky soles keep your feet firmly planted and the firm base provides a stable platform on rugged terrain. Construction and material quality... outstanding! Excellent value.
Zappos service is the icing on the cake!

I have used these boots to climb 14ers in Colorado, and weekend backpacking trips. They are great. Great traction. Dependably waterproof. Great boots.

Inca Trail and the Paine Circuit- no problem...
We just returned from hiking around South America, including the famous Inca Trail and the Paine Circuit of Torres del Paine, with the Fugitives and they were absolutely GREAT. Warm, breathable and sturdy, these boots held up to all the conditions of the numerous steps of the Inca Trail with a 30lb pack and more. These shoes were great in every aspect and I often was asked where and what kind of boots they were as they are cool looking too.

Good light day hike boot!
Nice day hiking boot. Pretty comfortable. If you are used to sizes from American brands, go about a half size to one size smaller for the Asolo’s.

Great boot. Not quite as comfortable/supportive as my previous Asolo I wore completely out (although, they are at the same price-point). Wear proper type socks for best fit. Be careful not to over/under tighten lacing. Snug for loaded hiking & slightly looser when just goofing off. Lighter & better h2o-proofing than my old boots. Fit is somewhere between true & 1/2 larger than marked, based on the type of lining/padding I believe. Still, overall I'm very satisfied!

Good boot/Great service -
It's a brand new boot for me, but I believe this boot will be everything that everybody says about it. It is very comfortable and light.
More importantly,however, in a time when typical internet customer service is more of a "let the buyer beware" approach, Zappos service keeps getting better and better...and quicker. I have a difficult foot to size for any shoes. I dreaded the return/exchange process, but the entire exchange for the right shoe size took only 2 days.

Most bang for the buck!
Boots fit perfectly for my average size feet (9M). Look great as well. Worn on the rocks around San Juan Island right out of the box. Great traction, support and durability. I'm hooked.

Cup for heel locks you in. Right tongue flap rubs my right inside ankle joint for some reason - no cushioning.

Good boot.
This is a nice boot, and when I couldn't find it at any local outfitter's retail shops (out of stock) it was readily available from Zappos. It is a good looking boot, and the fit is nice, if a tad too rigid. The stiffness seems to be by design though. I have owned other Asolo boots and they had a similar feel. I have put about 22 miles on this pair. No blisters. No moisture penetration. Overall I am pleased.

This Asolo's Fugitive Hiking Boots looks and feel really good. I love it; especially for long walks. You should buy a pair , you will love it.

Asolo Fugitive GTX -
I took up backpacking a while back and since I live in North Carolina there are endless opportunities -- especially along the Appalachian Trail. I read all the reviews and did my homework before settling on these boots. From the minute I tried them on, though, I knew they were right for me. Zero break-in time and they really lend a feeling of security. They draw attention so if you don't like people asking about your boots and where you got them, try something else. Just kidding -- These are great. Do yourself a big favor and pick up a pair. I normally wear a 10.5 (US) but 10 was perfect in the Asolo's. Never stop exploring!

I just got a job climbing cell phone towers these are the boot everybody wears. I have only worn mine for a few days but I love the look and feel. I'll let you know if they hold true on the tower.

These are great shoes. I'm on my feet all day as a dog walker and need a good sturdy warm boot that can handle the concrete of NYC. I would recomend these shoes. If you have wide feet though, they may be too tight. For me though the fit was perfect.

I have worn Asolo boots for the past 15 years or so and have always found them to be well made and comfortable. I was sad to see that upon putting these on my feet, Asolo has changed their last significantly and they no longer fit my foot shape. I am sending these back, although I must say they look, as always, well-built. If they fit your foot (narrow across the metatarsels for me) I imagine you will love this boot.

Bullet Proof -
Got them for a very cold 2 week shoot on the Monterey Peninsula. Freezing ocean, rugged terrain along the coast, freezing mornings up at sunrise, sand, Helicopter, 12 days of shooting sunrise to sunset these things never came off my feet.
I love them. I am destructive and brutal to my shoes on a shoot and saw these in a retail store... didn't have my size - ordered them online, got next day delivery, service was great. I am a toe-dragging, ankle twister too and these shoes frankly still look new. They are firm, which once you get used to, you come to rely on... I was wedging my foot into rocks on the shore to get a shot...stuff like that... the boot is a great boot. I am thinking of getting another pair before they change the color.
