These are very comfortable shoes. They run 1/2 size too big. I need 10.5 so I ordered an 11. The fit is perfect.

I bought these as a gift for my husband and needless to say he absolutely loved the shoes. He wasted no time in putting them on. We also had bought other shoes from Zappos and had an issue with the size. We simply called Zappos up and the exchanged shoes were here before the other ones even got to them. I love Zappos! This is a wonderful service.

This is a very comfortable shoe, especially the roomy toe box. I got the gray ones and they look pretty good with jeans. They are not flashy at all. I'm very happy with the purchase and I highly recommended.

I bought these already broken in at a used shoe store almost 9 years ago. They're still in perfect shape except for a greenish tint from mowing the lawn in them. I've even worked landscaping in them a few times. They have to be the most durable running shoes on the planet. They're also the most comfortable shoes I own. The gray goes with anything. I'll buy another pair from Zappos when funds allow.

These were my first pair of 574's in several years, and while still a great shoe, I'm disappointed that they seem to offer less cushioning then they once did. The fit seems as wonderful as always, but unlike my latest pair, the older ones felt like you were walking on air when you first put them on. These are more stiff, which seems pretty typical for less expensive shoes today, even though I paid more than I ever have for a pair of 574s. Overall, it's still a great shoe, but it doesn't seem to exhibit the high standards for comfort that it once did. I'm sure that I'll be satisfied with them, nonetheless, but less cushioning means that I'll probably look around before buying another pair. I also want to add that I've been a happy New Balance customer for 20 years, but the last few pairs have not held up to the high expectations I have for the brand. My favorite shoes of late have all been other brands, which makes me think that New Balance isn't the same shoe it once was.

I love my M574\'s. The retro look is appealing but the comfort and durability are what make them stand out. I\'ve had mine for a year and a half and they\'re still holding up after daily use.

Awesome, awesome shoe. I\'ve been wearing these sneakers for probably the last 5 years now. These are the best casual sneakers period. They are very comfortable and look great--everytime I get a new pair I get compliments. I\'ve had my current pair for 2 years now because NB doesn\'t produce the color anymore and I\'m too lazy to find a replacement. They\'ve lasted pretty well though, probably because I finally went with the right size. And they STILL get compliments. Get these. Now.

These shoes are the best ever. I have owned three pairs now. I have never considered buying a wide sized shoe, but after wearing the first two pairs for a long time, I noticed a little bulge where my pinky toe was sticking out. I didn't really feel that the shoes were too narrow, quite the opposite… they felt great, but this time around I decided to buy the wider size, and it turned out to be a great decision. They fit like a dream. A great all around shoe. I wouldn't run in it though.

Wow Zappos! I placed my order yesterday and had my shoes the next morning! I was a little hesitant about ordering these NBs since I last wore this style in the late 1990s, but I forgot how nice they look and the arch support they offer! The width is a *tad* snug, but nowhere near approaching a level of uncomfort. They are also true to size. A great shoe!

Not as good as the American made NBs, but a solid pair of good looking sneakers. Wish they made the 4E - but a half size larger than normal works for me with the 2E.

The shoe fits!
I'm a big guy with a big foot, so big apparently I need to buy all my shoes online! The New Balance is great, comfortable, and gives better arch support than most shoes I've worn in the past. I just wish I could keep them the way they look the first day out of the box. As a bonus Zappos gave me free next day shipping too!

The shoes arrived only a few days after I ordered them and were very true-to-size. They feel great on the foot, are very comfortable and look great with lots of different shades of blues and grays. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who likes New Balance.

The only shoe that fits -
New Balance Classic M574 is about the only shoe that I have ever found that fits right. My toes are spread out from walking barefoot for many years. M574 has room for my toes and I am so thankful. I like the Grey/Silver/White ones. Please do not stop making them.

For running, I have worn NB 991/992 7.5EE for almost a decade. So I decided to get a pair of 574's for everyday use. It is built on a different last and is narrower than the 991/992 -- I had to order a full size up for the same fit. I had to make a few exchanges and they helped me out with speed and courtesy. Zappos rules. Fact.

Great Walking Shoes.
I do a LOT of city walking, and as a result I have a few demands of my footwear,
1. Comfort. I love my full brogue wing tips from Church's, however, for city walking, my Newbies are more comfortable. They have good materials and padding in the right spot for my foot shape. I never have to worry about a blister from a poorly constructed part of the shoe. This aspect is sadly not an industry standard.
2. Cushion. These shoes got it, and how!
3. Breathability. With the amount of walking I do, shoes that breathe are a necessity. These have a nylon mesh above the toes which help with wicking away moisture.
4. Lightweight. These shoes weigh very little, which helps prevent fatigue when walking long distances.
5. Look. The last thing I want to look like is one of those old men in the gym who are wearing the same white sneakers they bought when Reagan was in office. You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones whose shoes are now cracked and weather checked just like the tires on grandpa’s station wagon. On the other hand, I don't feel the need for my footwear to look as if it was inspired by the latest Kanye West video with excessive splashes of day-glo colors. I need functionality without looking like a peacock, thank you very much. And these work well for that.

Nice looking shoe.
I'm not sure if I will keep this shoe. I love the style; however, the bottom of the shoe is very flat which makes it feel weird when walking. The sole of the shoe is very hard as well, which makes me think it will hurt my feet if I wear them all day. One shoe had a bend in it; the bent one has noticeably different feel when walking.

One of the Better sneakers I have used!!
For some strange anatomical reason, my left toe seems to want to protrude through the cap of any shoe that I wear. Sometimes the cap expands on its own and accommodates the truant toe, and others haven’t, causing me endless pain and to discard fairly new shoes. On this occasion, the salesperson suggested that I order a half size bigger shoe. It worked! Thank you Zappos.

I purchased the NB M574 at a store. The EE width, 9.5 were perfect. While shopping one day, I found another pair on the sale rack but they were D width, 10. I bought them anyway and BLEH. A friend told me of Zappos and I decided to buy 2 more pairs in EE width, 9.5, different colors. I have found the only fashion sneaker I will wear... EVER. Did I say EVER? Yup, EVER. I have three pairs and plan on buying a couple more; much to the chagrin of my partner. I recommend them highly BUT make sure you have the correct size.

This was my first Zappos order and it was a good one. These shoes are very comfortable. I wanted a different style and Zappos was out of stock but I’m very happy with the style I did select. Would recommend these shoes for sure.

Finally -
In an attempt to find a shoe I could walk, exercise, and jog in, I purchased 3 other pairs of shoes through Zappos. No other shoe seemed to work. They were either too narrow or too tight in certain areas. I measured myself to double check my size that I had been wearing for the last 10 to 15 years and I was still there but the salesman explained that some running shoes are cut a little thin he suggested I go up a size or go wide. I did and it worked. I must also add that Zappos claim to have free shipping both ways is true. I've sent back about four pairs of shoes and was never charged on red cent for shipping. Thanks
