These are the most durable and comfortable shoes I have ever worn. If it is true that Zappos is going to discontinue them, it will be a huge mistake. My preference is the Caterpillar without the steel toes, but I don't see that one listed anymore.

Caterpiller Alaska FX Steel -
This is the best work boot I ever owned. They are very comfortable and rugged. Although after reading my other reviews I went on the advice of others and ordered a half size smaller then regular shoe and they fit perfect. A bit clunky at first, however after a couple of wears you easily adjust.

Best Work Boots Ever!
As a supervisor in the industrial field, I needed a boot that could work as hard and long as I do! These boots are very comfortable, even after standing and walking on concrete floors all day. Very light weight, and they are comfortable enough to wear with either one or two pairs of socks. The steel toe is great too; it doesn't dig into your foot when you walk like other ones do. The only downside is I wish they were more slip resistant. I've recommended these to all my coworkers and several have bought these and others from the Zappos site.

Built strong and for a true comfort fit. A bit heavy.
These are wonderfully built. Sounds like they're discontinuing them (?) so buy them while you can. They run true to size, and have room for a thick sock. Great for construction work or around the farm or ranch.

Zappos is great -
These shoes are great... Zappos screwed up a little bit with my size but it doesn't matter because I got what I wanted in the end. Bravo! (I ended up getting the man's shoes that are exactly like this because they ran out of my size). I have big feet and the shoes don't look big or clunky at all- I'm going to wear them with a SKIRT. And man, let me tell you- the other kids at my highschool will be sorry when THEIR shoes don't absorb 600 volts of electricity!

Overall,this particular shoe is great! And that is alot to say from me because of all the trouble I have finding proper work shoes that fit, feel and look grea t as these. Material and craftsmanship are superb quality! The shoe size was a bit of a hassle in that the womens size does run about a full size bigger than your normal size. Other than that, there is nothing i find bad about this shoe. I truely enjoy wearing them and the great customer service I recieved from Zappos. Thank you!

2+ year love affair -
Purchsed the black Alaska CAT's (without steel toe)for a variety of uses: motor biking, landscaping, winter. I immediately loved the fit, though they ran a bit large. I had to put insoles in them to get a proper fit. They broke in quickly, found myself wearing them everywhere for any reason. They have held up miraculously, until recently. While push starting my motor bike, the lug sole detached! I have tried glue with no luck. I will attempt to contact CAT to see what they can do. Until then, I'm searching for these same boots.

love the look! but....
was very happy with the look. Really nice looking boots. I put them on and was so dissapointed with the comfort factor. Mainly the thick padding at the top made it hard to walk up and down my stairs while I tried hard to get comfortable in these boots. I had to keep them, even if for casual wear instead of the intended hiking use, so I removed the foam padding and am trying to break them in. the worst part is that i got a blister on my heel. its been 10 years since i've had a blister and i buy alot of shoes! zappos is fun to shop at and will do it again.

I work on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and find that these boots hold up to anything that I put them through! I usually go through quite a few pairs of boots through the year and I can tell that these will be able to withstand the water, dirt and everyday wear. These boots also have great traction which anyone can appreciate!

The Best for your money!
This was the best purchase I have ever made. These boots lasted me 6 years! Now that I'm ready to replace them I couldn't believe how hard it was to find them. They are well worth your money.
