I love these shoes. They are a bit heavier than most regular shoes, but hey they\'re industrial right? More than being heavy, I think of them as being incredibly sturdy, while also maintaining a comfortable fit. I have some arthritis in my feet, but these shoes still fit and feel great, and I love the look. I recommend them.

These things are absolutely bomb proof. I am an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector with a major airline, so these shoes have seen about as much abuse as possible. I have owned a pair of these for about seven years now... you read that right... the SAME pair for SEVEN years. Only until recently have I thought of replacing them. They have stood up to rain, snow, hydraulic fluid, jet fuel, solvents, everything you can imagine and have never let me down. The toe cap is nice and wide, so you dont get the "pinch" you get from other steel toes I have worn. Long story short, they are worth the money! Buy them with confidence.

Dr. Steel toe review -
I am an engineer and am required to wear steel toed shoes. I like the Doc Martins steel toe because it provides a professional look and meets the steel toe requirement. I do place additional arch support in them and that is my only recommendation for improvement.

I bought these for casual wear. I made a great choice, if I may say so myself! They fit better, right out of the box, than any shoes/boots I've bought in a long time.

These Docs Rock!
There's nothing like a solid pair of real shoes on your feet! I'm a standard size 10 and these fit perfectly. The look isn't quite as clean as the classic Docs (discontinued), the plastic buckle on the laces is a little modern, but they tighten up a lot easier when tying. Very comfortable! The shipping is very fast! With the free shipping, I got them the day after I ordered them!

The shoe is very comfortable when the size is right. I had to go two full sizes above my regular size to get one that fit. This is my second pair of Doc Martens and they both wore well.

Like armor for your toes -
I fell in love with steel toed shoes in high school when I was working with light industry tools. I've worn them ever since even though I don't work where my feet are in constant peril. These are the most comfortable steel toed shoes I've worn.

Heavy, but comfortable -
They fit good and are comfortable to wear while standing long hours, but they are heavy. The soles are softer than some others which make them more comfortable on hard surfaces.

Not for restaurant work -
I bought these boots to wear in a restaurant. They wouldn't be my first choice- they're really heavy, clumsy, and not slip resistant. One other thing I noticed after a year of wearing them was on the bottom of the boots there is a huge crack on each boot where my foot bends. I don't know how it got there, but it looks like they just snapped in half.
Overall a good boot, I just wouldn't recommend it for a restaurant where you'd do a lot of running around.

Office use -
I work in a manufacturing environment where I spend most of my time in office type environments. This shoe is a little heavy and warm at times, but quite comfortable. It is great for when I have to go on the shop floor and is good for all around use at home. Not real fashionable, but not ugly and I go more for function anyway. I ordered a size I normally wear, but had to return it for the next size up. The only width choice was "normal" and I would have preferred a "wide" choice. These shoes wear like iron. The last pair lasted 4 years with daily use.

Narrow fit inside -
These shoes do not look narrow but they are once you put them on. If you like Doc's wingtips, these will fit you great. When I got them out of the box they fit great and felt comfortable. But I need to stand all day at work, and after three days the balls of my feet and heels were killing me. If you DO NOT stand all day, they will be fine ...especially if you wear narrow shoes.
Other then that, the construction stands up to Dr. Martens quality and the padded ankle collar does not rub.

Just bought 'em and I love 'em!!
I have about 4 other pairs of DM's, but these have to be the most comfortable shoes by far!! I loved the really fast shipping service from this company as well. I will definitely purchase other items from this site! Excellent shoes, great service. I'm a happy camper!

Great shoes for light work!!!
These shoes are great to work in a light work environment. They are a little heavy but if your used on wearing heavy steel toe shoes you won't feel a lot of difference. I work unloading trucks and they have saved my feet from pallet jacks hitting my toes or pallets falling on 'em too.

Great -
I have a job where I am on my feet and walking 8-10 hours per day and I have to say that these shoes are light and comfortable enough that they do not cause any discomfort ever. I have found that Dr. Martens makes the most comfortable steel toe shoe on the market.

Toooo Heavy -
Absurdly heavy; I cannot get through the day with these shoes on. Also Dr. Martens rubbery sole makes them quite unstable if you miss a step or hit something. I tend to suffer from plantar fasciitis with shoes with poor support...these shoes hurt my feet.

Descent Shoe -
Good shoe. I wish Dr. Martens had a version of their regular oxford, but with ANSI rated steel toe protection. Just a personal preference of the look. It's a bit heavy, due to the steel toe of course. I haven't worn any other kind of ANSI rated steel toe protective shoe before, so I have no idea if it is the typical weight for such a shoe.

Dr. Marten's 0071 Series - Excellent Comfort and Support -
This shoe has excellent comfort and support. I work in a manufacturing plant where I walk anywhere from 2-4 miles a day during the course of work. These shoes not only offer comfort but support my feet well. Other shoes don't seem to hold up in the support department as the day wears on like the 0071.

Tight -
I previously had DM 8836 boots and was a bit disappointed in the fit of my new 0071's they are cut more narrow and as of now are not as comfortable on my feet as my old 8836's.

I love this work shoe. They feel comfortable the moment you put them on. You wouldn't even know they were steel toe from the lightweight and perfect flex of the shoe. I actually don't even have a job that requires steel toe shoes but because this shoe is so awesome, I might actually look for a job that does!

The lining in the heel of these shoes is a little uncomfortable (there's a random lump). . . they are nice looking shoes and good for all types of occasions.

This is a really good pair of Doc Martens. They look great and are perfect for my job. The Anti-Static sole and steel toes are the main reason I bought this pair of shoes.

Great work shoe. Very comfortable, its like walking on a cushion. My legs do not ache at the end of a long day. They also dont slip. I wear them in all types of oils and coolants. I have been wearing this shoe for 5 years and will never buy Knapp again.

Great Shoe -
Only problem is that the size ran small and had to send back the 9 for a 10.

 | | Didnt know where to send a note to the full staff so Im putting it here. I havent shopped Zappos for a few years (how many Birkies can one gal wear at a time)! Ive hunted and hunted for boots. Not much call for tall boots in the Phoenix area, but the styles changed this year so I wanted to get with it. I hate going to stores so I tried the internet, thought I found gold, but ended up returning because they were too loose or too tall or too short. The light bulb went off and I came back to Zappos and they had calf and height measurements listed - what a brilliant idea!!! I found black suede and grey leather and I had them at my front door a day later! How much better could it get: both pairs fit!!! Please post this for all employees so they can know their efforts are very much appreciated... you all could teach the rest of the corporate world how it should be done. Thanks again, Kirsten O. | | ~ Kirsten O., October 29 2009
