Started out well, but it didn't last...
The shoe presented well, especially for the price. The laces and the sole became a problem within a 5 month period. I replaced the laces but the sole separated from the shoe in the back at the heel. I tried to correct that with super glue. It didn't work. I will not purchase any more Deer Stags.

The only problem with these shoes is that the tongue squeaks.
Otherwise the fit is true and are comfortable.

I was leaving for a trip and needed new dress shoes. I had been trying to find a pair for over 3 weeks. It was 5 days before my departure and I still had not purchased a pair. My wife suggested Zappos, I told her I would never purchase a pair online because they wouldn’t fit. Well, she ordered them anyway. To my surprise the shoes arrived within 3 days, no extra charge for shipping. When I tried on the shoe 12EEE, they were a perfect fit. I had no problem - the fit was a true fit, there was no break in period needed, they looked great and felt great, and the price was right. I will trust Zappos from now on for any of my shoe needs. Thank you.

Rubberized shoe coating?
I have had these shoes for about a year now. The comfort, fit, and look are great. Problem: instead of dying the shoe leather they coat the leather with what seems like a rubberized coating.
This is not Zappos doing. I don't need my money back; I'll just not buy Deer Stags. Oh, I use ortho. Inserts so arch is no problem.

Nice for the Price -
I was looking for a cheap pair of work shoes; I was pleasantly surprised by DEER STAG. They look great and feel good. Still need insoles for them though. Good Shoe, Great price.

Over all the shoe is comfortable. It does require a break in period; it is stiff; it is not a shoe you want to wear for long periods of time. As a matter of value for money spent it is a value purchase. I likely will not purchase another by this same manufacturer.

Good shoes that you can wear with a suit or with khaki's. Fairly comfortable and durable. The leather does not stay as shiney as some other brands, but a great value for the price.

Fell Apart in 4 Months -
I purchased these shoes 4 months ago. Since then, the stitching where the toe piece meets the lace piece has ripped apart, and the upper has started to separate from the sole near the ball of the big toe. The do look nice when you first get them, though.

Size and width true fit. Shoe laces are junk that seems to have sprayed with something. Just cut them off and replace with new ones. Great buy as all my Zappos purchases. I wear inserts for my feet so arch support is in my insert.

Nice looking shoe until you touch it!
This shoe looks great but the quality is discount store quality. They feel as if they are made of plastic and the shoe never seems to break in. I do give it credit for the fact that the inner sole is comfortable. It also feels a lot bigger than it actually is. Overall there are better buys.

First day wear -
Just put these shoes on this morning. The shoes felt good, the laces are kind of waxy and tough but tied tight. Now it's 5pm and the shoes still feel great on my feet. No aches and no foot pain like with other more expensive shoes. The shoes fits nicely on my feet and the cushioning is perfect. Overall I'd say that these shoes are winners!

Great Daily Work Show -
Very comfortable wide version of shoe. I'm in Real Estate so these shoes work well for both days in the office along with 8-10 hour on foot showing property days. Looks a bit more "upscale" in person vs. online and I do get compliments on the shoe. Good cushion support, a bit of a rough "break in" 1st week.

A feel good buy!

Good Value, too bad they did not fit.
I liked the price of the shoes; unfortunately they were too tight, have stiff leather, stiff laces and had to return. The square toe is wider & more pronounced than average that does not give the shoe an athletic look.

A Deer Stag purchase.
At first I was kind nervous of buying shoes online, because of the size issue but I decided to take a risk since Zappos gives you free shipping and returning. So I figured you can't go wrong with that. The process was quick. I was kind of disappointed on how they looked in person and not on the computer, but they were very comfortable so I was ok with that. All in all I was very satisfied and I would recommend Zappos.com for people who don't have a lot of time to go to a store to shop around for the right shoe. There’s plenty of variety and the prices are fair. It’s a good deal.
