Don't buy if you have a high instep -
Felt substantial on, but I have a high instep and there is no give in this shoe. I could not wear them a whole day without pain and bruising. Interestingly, the shoe is completely different in style, size and construction than the same shoe I purchased in burgundy. Weird!

Nice shoes but not comfortable if you have a high arch as there is no give in the top. Rubber sole insert is a nice design feature.

Great Looks and Value -
This is the second pair of these shoes I've had in the past decade. I had a pair of black Lexington's purchased around 2000. My only complaint back then was the all-leather sole made the shoes slippery in the winter. The rubber insert at mid-foot (under the ball) remedies this problem nicely. They are consummate slip on dress shoes. Just got back from a 1.5 weeks in the orient where these were the only shoes I took with. Worked out beautifully. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought these to carry me to Italy in summer 2009. They're stylish and a comfortable heel height while at the same time quite comfortable. The leather straps are quite thick. My guess is there will be a small amount of break in required before I leave (around the big toe area). All-in-all I believe I will be able to walk hours in them. The footbed is well cushioned and the wedge heel aids in the stability of the shoe. Runs a little large (about a half size) but they're still easy to maneuver about in. If you're looking for a comfortable shoe, check out Onex too. I ordered a pair to go with these (to Europe). They're even more comfortable.

Good value for the price -
This is a classic shoe with good styling. I particularly like the insert on the bottom. In the past, Florsheims soles were dangerously slippery until worn enough to really scuff up the bottom.

Florsheim Review -
The Florsheim Lexington is a very well constructed shoe. The shoe seems to be wider than marked. The 3E seems more like a 5E. Overall it is nice shoe. Seems hard to break in at first. Very comfortable though. Good buy for the money!

Odd sizing for width -
I ordered these in a 10.5 E (Wide) and they were way too tight. I could not even get them on. I've ordered about 7 to 8 other pairs of shoes from Zappos in a 10.5 Wide and they have always fit perfect.

I bought the shoes for my boyfriend for Christmas. He kept rotating them and looking at them. The top, the bottom; he really appreciates a good looking and quality shoe. He has a very high instep so a comfortable shoe that fits is a rarity. I am disappointed that the 8 1/2 3EEE that he wears and I ordered were tight. Perhaps if there were goring on either side of the top it would have been fine. But we will return them for a half size larger and a 4EEE width. I'm sure they will be fine. The look of this shoe is most handsome.

Poor fitting shoe -
I have been a Florsheim user for some time, but their quality has gone down. I purchased two identical style shoes and they both did not fit. One was half size larger than my normal size and it still did not fit. Returned both and purchased a Cole Haan which fits fine.

Surprise fit -
I find the shoes comfortable and easy to break in. This is the second pair of these dress shoes that I have owned. If you have wide feet like I do, shoe trees help the break in.

I was very impressed with the shoes. The shoes look great and are very comfortable. I would make a small suggestion to order a 1/2 size smaller when ordering. I will definitely from Zappos.com, very fast delivery and on time.

Perfect Shoe for a Picky Man (with wide feet)-
After numerous attempts to replace my husbands tassel slip-ons, we've succeeded with this sharp, well made shoe. I'm impressed with the quality and style. He's worn (and preferred) Florsheim's for years and now after many attempts to replace the worn ones, I'm sold too.
The Bostonian was not nearly as well constructed and the one pair he had... did not last but a few years.

Pinch my toes -
7EEE felt tight in width, a little long, and very hard to get on. It may be because they are new and stiff. I have been buying executive imperials from Mason. They are much softer new and much more comfortable overall. They also have elastic behind the tongue to make them easy to get on and still fit snug. However, I have had trouble with the soles wearing through on the Imperials. These have a rubber insert in the sole. They should wear better. If they start feeling more comfortable, they will last forever in the closet.

I think that this is a good looking shoe. The quality is very good for a shoe at this price. The leather seemed a bit stiff at first, but it finally did break in. The fit seemed a bit strange for both feet, but wearing the appropriate socks helped in this matter. I would definitely buy these again in a different color. I bought burgundy, and they look great, but I think that the black looks good also.
