Great shoes!
I love my Birks... I've owned three pairs over the past 11 years and I would never give up owning a pair. They feel and fit great and they give me great support exactly where I need it.

Can't say enough good things about my first buying experience with Zappos. At about 5:00p.m. one evening I placed the order and my shoes were on the front porch the next afternoon when I got home from work. My shipping had been upgraded to overnight, at no cost to me. While I don't expect that will happen every time I order, what a great welcoming gift. Besides that, the shoes were everything I expected and were on my feet immediately. Thanks so much Zappos!!

I ordered these late Monday night and they arrived first thing today, Wednesday!
OK, but about the shoe. If you've owned Birks before, then I needn't explain how great these are for your feet, legs, and spine. Basically, they are great all around shoes for keeping your body in line. My chiropractor suggested I get a new pair after my back went out. I love suede and leather so I chose the Arizona slide in Taupe, a good all-around color that goes with everything. My feet are mismatched in size, so my left is slightly smaller than my right. When ordering the size I recalled that my previous pair were a bit wider than I would have liked, so this pair I ordered the narrow in a 40. PERFECT FIT, for my size 9.5/10 feet (women's).

I had a pair of Arizona Suede Birks that were about 15 years old and it was time to get a new pair. I really couldn't remember back then whether I bought women’s or unisex, so I just ordered the unisex. They are a bit roomy, so I feel like they look a bit big on my feet. I sort of wish I had tried on a pair before buying them. I know it's easy to return them at Zappos, but I wore them outside and it was too late to make a fair exchange... so I plan to stick with my purchase; they are comfortable, but look kind of clunky on my feet - don't get me wrong… I had a pair for 15 years, so obviously, they are keepers if you can get the right fit.

Most comfy shoe in the world!
This is the most comfy shoe in the world. I put them on the moment I walk in the door at home and take them off just before leaving for work in the morning - except when I wear my black patent leather "dress Birkis" to work. If you are a woman whose foot is on the wide side of B, go with the regular width instead of narrow.

You must try these!!!!
I purchased these for my husband, who has back and foot issues... and also a EEE wide foot; they fit well, and are extremely comfy as well... they may not 'cure' his problems, but definitely do manage to make walking around less problematic for him... I also have several pairs of this brand in other styles... while they may not be the prettiest shoes around, I would rather wear these than anything else in the spring and summer; it isn't easy to smile when your feet hurt, but when I wear them, I smile all the time! Thank you to both Zappos for the great customer service, and Birkenstock for the great products!!!

Make sure to order a size down!
I normally wear size 9.5 and have a wide foot and my perfect size is 39 narrow.
So, 1st off, if you are female, I recommend getting the narrow unless your foot is really wide. The suede also stretches so even if they are a little tight in width at 1st, they won't be when you wear them in. That happened to my last pair of regular width suede Arizona's and they got really loose.
Second, the size conversions on here are wrong. 39 does not equal women's 8-8.5, but 9. 40 is 10, and so on. So if you know your European size, go with that or 1 size down looking at the American conversions they give. As I mentioned I am size 9.5 normally and the 39's fit exactly like a 9. At first it felt like, if my foot was any bigger, they'd be too small. But the cork flattened out and indented from daily wear and now they fit exactly like a 9.5.
Other that that, I love this shoe! They're kinda uncomfortable when you 1st wear them, but soon after become amazing. I got the mocha suede and they match so many outfits. And the slip on style is so convenient when you need to run out and get the mail or walk the dog real quick. Everyone should own a pair!

They are my husbands and he is so comfortable in them. His last ones wore out so back he kept tripping in them because they were coming apart and he had clued them several times.

Great after break-in period -
This is my second pair of Arizona’s. The first was a pair my trendy son abandoned and I adopted. They felt great from the start and I wore them as often as possible. They became my favorite shoes, so, after 2 years when they began to look to worn, I ordered a new pair. The feel of the new sandals was not the same and my feet hurt after wearing them. I was told by my wife and daughter who are also fans of Birkenstocks that the cork bed would mold to my feet and over a break-in period become custom fitted and as comfortable as the old ones. If you are new to this type of shoe, keep this in mind if the shoes do not feel 100% out of the box. If the sandals fit but your feet hurt after wearing them for a while, begin to wear them for short periods of time during the break in period. You will be rewarded with a comfortable and classic sandal. (Note: these sandals can be refurbished very well, but I think the suede uppers of these sandals would still look a little dirty even after the soles and footbed were replaced.)

Best sandal made!
I got this sandal for my 20 year old son; he has a pair of the same ones since 2002! He loves them; they mold to your foot and are very comfortable. They hold up great and last a long time. You can't beat Birks!

Nice but a little hard on your bare feet -
Great shoe . . . have always wanted a pair since I saw them in college in the 70's. However, these do not have the cushioned innersole and are a little hard on your feet after 10-12 hours of wear. Also, had to add one extra hole in the straps to get a snug fit so I would not walk out of the shoe while walking.

This shoe was purchased for my daughter. This was not her first pair of Birkenstocks so we knew what to expect. A person with a regular width foot should probably order a narrow. I am continually impressed with the Zappos web site in general. You can't beat the quick and free delivery as well as free shipping if you need to return the item. I also have bought other shoes that were priced considerably less than I have seen in retail stores. I think Zappos is terrific.

Too big!!!
Great shoes, but I am always an 8 or 8 1/2 and these definitely run very big. Go down one size. Otherwise great.

I have owned a pair of knock-off Birkenstocks for over a year, but nothing compares to the actual thing. The footbed molds to your foot within a few wears and feels like a second skin. I wear them every day. And of course, no one has better customer service or faster delivery than Zappos.
