Fantastic boots!
Absolutely no complaints on these boots. Fits perfectly, looks great, light-weight, well-constructed, and such a tremendous value. I have never had any problems with Hi-Tec boots. I've been wearing a pair of Hi-Tecs for the last several years and they still look and fit great, even after some very serious trails. Look forward to wearing these boots for many years to come.

Lightweight and great -
I have had Hi-Tecs in the past because of the steel shanked sole and have been impressed. The Hi-Tec Cape Trail boot weighing in just over a pound each is great for the trail, easy to break in, and comfortable with no burning sensations. I recommend this boot from the novice to the serious trail blazer!

Exceeded expectations for waterproofing, traction -
Our winter in Chicago has been very wet and cold and walking surfaces have either been covered with snow, ponds of water, or ponds of ice. I needed something to walk around in that would be dry and warm and these have worked perfectly. I have walked in deep puddles with no water intake. An unexpected bonus: these have had great traction on the ice. Comfort-wise, when I first got them, they gave me blisters above the back of my heels, but I got some insoles and the problem went away. They still feel a bit stiff, but they also provide ankle support, so that is not so much an issue.

Nothing bad about this boot.
Very light boot, laces easy, comfortable, fits true to size. Awesome sole, transitions from water or snow to rock and somehow manages to stick like a climbing shoe. A great value for a day hiker. You don't even know you have a boot on your foot. I bought these because my friend has a 10+ year old pair of Hi-Tec boots and they still kick butt.

Boots for my husband!
Buying boots for my husband is very difficult because of his size 15's. As a contractor he doesn't like to work in anything bulky. He is very pleased with these boots. They are light weight and he likes the low tops. He said they are great to shovel snow and work in.

Hi-Tec gets high marks -
These are my first pair of Hi-Tec hiking boots. I was not disappointed. As soon as I opened the shoe box I went on a four hour hike. At first they were a little stiff, but a couple of hours in they were very comfortable. In South Korea it is rocky and these boots handled the rough terrain like pros. I am happy with my purchase. My family and I have purchased many pairs of shoes from Zappos. They do an excellent job.

Not too shabby!
I purchased these for outdoor activities in general. So far they have been good for walking around the city in bad weather and I have even taken them snowshoeing. They lack the "lip" that the heal of some boots have (Asolo and others) to hold straps in place which detracts from them. At the price I think they do the job quite well though.

Excellent Heavy-Duty Hiking Boot -
I've been a fan of Hi-Tec since 1988 when I got my first pair for backpacking in the mountains at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Since then I've had many pairs and each has been wonderful. This new pair is living up to my expectations. They look and feel good. With the steel shank and board last, they have the support I need for scampering over the rocks (lol, I'm 260# and 6'2"). As for style, my wife and daughter both gave them a thumbs up. Break-in was easy; 3 miles the first day and most every day since with no problems. I've tried other more expensive brands, but always come back to Hi-Tec because I like the performance better and you can't beat the price.

Very nice mid-range boot -
These boots were just what I was looking for: lightweight, waterproof, and good looking (if I do say so myself). These no frills boots are perfect for my everyday use and the price was definitely right. You can't beat the FREE overnight shipping. Arrived right on time.

Comfy, but not so tough.
My feet are wide, and these fit well. They are light and responsive. However, they had ripped across the top 8 months in. If you live in your boots, expect to burn through these, but if you want a good weekend hiker you might as well save some $$ and buy these.

Great for the money. Light, comfy after 3 days, tongue is only attached up to 4th eyelet so water could get in above there. Haven't tested the waterproofing yet.

My First Zappos Order -
I recently purchased my Hi-Tec Cape Trail WP boots from Zappos. The service was excellent--the order arrived the next day. This is my third pair of Hi-Tec's--the other two I had worn till they were falling apart. I use them primarily as a work shoe doing projects on my rural Louisiana property. I bought the WP type this time because of the frequent wet conditions in Louisiana. Even on a "dry" day the grass is usually wet with a heavy dew in the morning and regular boots can be absolutely soaked after a short time. I did not have a problem with the sizing--I ordered the same size I had been wearing. I usually wear my boots with a polypropylene liner sock under a medium weight wicking hiking sock. I will soon get another pair for leisure wear.

Awesome boots!
I'm a returning customer, and am once again very happy with Zappos. These boots were at my door in just a few days, very cool! The boots themselves are even better looking on my feet than on the website. I followed the advice of the other reviews and ordered a little larger, and they fit great, length and width. I've tried on many boots in the stores and these feel so much better. Thanks again Zappos :)

The heel base seems a little big for walking around all day every day, as I do at work. I had to adjust my walking rhythm to adapt to it.

My insert definitely NOT memory foam. Regular hard insert for me. But over all, very good boot. Great fit, nice and snug, no blisters. they fit right out of the box. Very rainy here, and these were perfect.

I recently switched over to these from a pair of low-top Hi-Tecs. The size and fit both transferred to the boot. The hi-tec sizes have consistently been a 1/2 size smaller than my normal size. EXCELLENT boot for the price. Nubuck turns darker and more like rough suede when nikwax applied. Still a great looking boot, though. It just rained for 2 weeks straight here and these boots were stellar. Highly recommend a full length memory foam insert and a 3/4 heel cushion/arch support--they're a little roomy in the ankle, the inserts snug it up. Comparable to a $100 boot.
