A comfortable attractive shoe - I have problem feet due to arthritis and these shoes are very comfortable. I wear them all day without a problem. They are also a very nice looking shoe. I have another pair of Softwalk shoes and this brand receives my highest recommendation for comfort and style.

In the photo the leather has a soft luster to it; in reality, the shoes are quite shiny – almost artificially so. It looks like some sort of coating they've put on the leather. Also, they fit quite close to my foot, and the sole feels thin. There is a very pillowy padding to the insole, but underneath that is a thin, hard rubber sole. I'm used to wearing Merrills and then got converted to Keens (even more comfortable), and so this shoe doesn't measure up to comfort. If the leather looked like it does in the photo, that would have made up for it somewhat. But it doesn't. Not a shoe for lots of walking or standing, and not as nice as it looks in the picture.

Pewter Metallic Woven -
I bet I looked at this shoe for 6 months before ordering it. I already have one pair of the San Mateo, (love them) but not the woven leather style. This pair was the noisiest, squeakiest shoe I've ever had on my feet. It's annoying around the house, can't imagine trying to wear these at work. Sadly returning them.

These shoes feel great from the minute I first put them on. I can wear them to work all day and my feet and legs don't hurt. This is my second pair. I receive a lot of compliments.

Great Shoe!
This is a great shoe I was able to take it right out of the box and wear without any "breaking in" I love all the SoftWalk shoes, I am only wearing the mules or clogs, I have a swelling problem and these styles make it easy to slip on and slip off.

A Soft Walk Thumbs Up!
I have enjoyed all of my SoftWalk shoes, but the San Mateo is just perfect in terms of fit, comfort, and design. It looks good, feels good, and couldn't fit my long, slender feet better. I am so very pleased with this purchase.

Gave me a blister -
I didn't wear stockings or socks with these and got a blister from one of the seams on the inside of the shoe (right above the arch). Wear thin socks with this one.

Great Comfy Shoe!
The first time I wore these shoes I walked all over Las Vegas and continued to wear them for four days! I finally got a sore spot where the lining seam is but that's gone now and they're by far my favorite shoes. I may end up with every color they offer!

Mother's Day Present -
I'm a big fan of SoftWalk. The San Mateo is a big favorite of mine and my mothers. The last pair I purchased in the metallic color was a present for my mother for Mother's Day. She loves the ease with which you can slip them on and the comfort of the inner sole can't be beat. I happen to be wearing a pair even as I write this review. A real winner, one of your best.

Comfy but stretches -
I love this shoe but I bought a wide the first time because that's what I normally need. The shoe stretched so much that the fit became very sloppy and I was walking out of the shoes all the time. But I did like the shoe so I ordered a medium and it has been fine. The little that it has stretched has been exactly what I needed.

Bad Durability -
The SoftWalk San Mateo is very comfortable and stylish. I love the way this shoe looks and feels. I have big feet and this shoe fits great. As such, I wear them a lot. But after just a few months of wearing them, they are falling apart. The upper portion of the shoe is woven, and the leather weave has snapped. Threads on the back holding the in-sole to the sole of the shoe are coming out. The same happened with my pair of SoftWalk Venus shoes (same as San Mateo, but with a strap). Even though I love the shoe, I probably won't buy it again. I can't justify a shoe that only lasts five months.

The Only Choice -
I have very wide, sensitive feet. Very few brands fit me comfortably. I am grateful they come in a variety of colors. I a sure I do not stand alone when it comes to such problem feet.

Love them!
This is at least my sixth pair of San Mateo's. My favorite is the woven style. I wear them with dress slacks and jeans. They are exceptionally comfortable and sharp looking. I am very heavy, have arthritis and my feet are extremely sensitive. I wear these shoes to work almost every day, because they are the only ones that are truly comfortable all day. I wear 10 1/2 WW, so Zappos is the only place I buy my shoes, and they have the best service ever!

Love these shoes. Light weight, plenty of toe room, can be worn with casual clothes or business casual. Mine are the black flower design and they are beautiful, even for an 8 1/2 WW.

Feels like a slipper!
This shoe is wonderful. I have it in different colors and suede and leather (5 pairs). It feels like you're wearing slippers. I highly recommend this brand.

This Mule is No Donkey!
This is an extremely comfortable and attractive shoe. I ordered it first in the Denim Flower, but wasn't really happy with the color. I decided to return them, and a few weeks later the Navy Flower appeared -- I love everything about the shoe including the color, which works great with jeans and other wardrobe staples, both pants and skirts. Unlike some other mules I have ordered, these stay on your feet without sliding. Highly recommended!

The woven and floral embossed San Mateo are oh so comfortable and very attractive. This style helps larger feet appear much smaller.

A classy looking shoe.
A lot of shoppers must like San Mateo because my size was sold out in most colors. I took a chance and ordered an 11.5N rather than my usual 11N in order to get a color I could use. The shoe was too long and a bit wide for a narrow width. Sadly, I must return them. This is such a beautiful shoe.

Absolutely wonderful for working -
As a school counselor, I am on my feet all day. I was looking for a comfortable, yet good looking shoe and I found it. This is the best shoe I have EVER worn and I will be ordering more shoes by SoftWalk. I highly recommend these!!! The cushioning inside feels like you are walking on air!!! Comfortable and great style -
As a long ago shoe retailer, I must say that this shoe is one of the most comfortable shoes that I've worn. We sold Naturalizer for years and I thought that it was the most comfortable shoe on the market.
This will be my shoe of choice for comfort and style.

 |  | Wow! I got my sandals yesterday! I mean...I just ordered them and here they are! What a nice surprise to find after a hard day at work. I'm the office manager for a very busy massage clinic here in Olympia, Washington. We see many customers in a single day and don't you think that I'm going to tell absolutely everyone about this shopping experience? Heck yes! This is a win/win situation. I'm wearing my sandals right now to see if they are as comfy as everyone said they were, and so far so good. Thank you for a wonderful shopping experience. I found that when I put in my shoe size and width and the site brought up all the styles I was shopping for, it would throw in some that didn't fit the criteria. Some didn't come in my size at all (I have wide feet). Maybe it was my computer though...sometimes that happens. But overall...the shopping experience was great at Zappos and I'll be coming back for sure! Thank you for such good customer service. It's that service that will get you business in these hard times.
